Where is everyone and where i've been.
« on: January 13, 2015, 04:58:40 PM »
I was at a model aircraft show in Ontario Ca. Sounds like toys but so much more. It is also a weekend out with the guys and I got some great info for camera platforms.

A couple pics here for Don though. He should recognize the speaker here and the model heli. A hint is the speaker is a household name for aerobatics. That model is worth around $3000, much less the time.

That sounds like a fun time. My brother would really enjoy something like that. He has quite a few planes and a couple choppers.
If anyone cares, I have been building a rear bumper for my truck and getting ready to do a build thread on here, but work keeps interfering.

What the heli was was simple, just thought you would like it.

Work, what is that?

I've been absolutely slammed at work, and wife and I are getting really close to starting construction on our house... so lots of time preparing for that!

Hope to get a few write ups up soon for things I got for Christmas!

I spent 5 days in Leavenworth, WA at the Christmas Lighting Festival. For those of you who don't know, it's a little Bavarian themed village in the Cascade mountains. Sleigh rides, dog sleds, German food and music, goofy hats and lots and lost of people. we do the last weekend of the season in Dec and 10-15k people show up for the lights.

German food and music

Do tell.
Too much to list while I'm at work here, but check out the link. http://www.leavenworth.org/ the main spot we visit is the Munchen Haus, they've got a doz different sausages and at least that many different mustards. the beer is imported german or domestic mirobrew gold. Schnitzle, smoked and braised pork shanks, veal cutlets, bacon dressed potato salad red cabbage and sauerkraut of course everywhere. it's a German themed north pole looking Christmas wonderland. and I gained 7 lbs in 5 days.

Bobby,

I just realized you probably have spent some time in Germany proper; I can't vouch for authenticity on any of this stuff, but it is freaking delicious. There is also a brewery and distillery in town that do samplers: 8 4oz pours of different delicious beers (make sure and eat first or it's lights out), Washington wheat bourbons and vodkas too. We've been spending our Christmas vacation here for 10 years straight and we're not bored with it yet.

I know and love Germany very much
Lived there over 5 years, 27 months once then 3 years later on. Lived in Bavaria the whole time, Near Kitzengen once and in Illeshiem the first time.

Can vouch for the wine, beer and food. It's absolutely delicious, well all except for their ice-cream... But the Italians have that going on so no worries. Jaeger Schnitzel is my all time favorite food, and any blonde wine grown around Wurzburg is pretty OK as well!

We'll be there next year again, from the 18th to the 22nd. We stay at the Bavarian Lodge if anyone in the area wants to meet up ;D
