He claims these work on his ghetto evasion rig!

just off hand, who is nick?

the term for that buick is "DONK".  don't ask me where it came from or how it evolved, that is just what I have been told from certain soldiers that I work with.

I see this CRAP all the time around here.

Oakland is just 40 miles away and Vallejo (its little brother) is 20 and I worked there for years.

figures i'm out doing armee stuff for the last couple days (that and being sick with a sick daughter) and i come back to find that the first "tire" post is of don's buick.
once i get some free time I am going to make some tire posts as i used to work for cooper tire america and for some reason have a passion for tire performance.
my first post will be about the new nitto exo grappler's that i'm currently running and some of the other tires that i have either ran or experienced multiple failures with in the past.

Yea man, I loved that old Buick!

I ran and really liked the Yokahama MT's, in fact let me start a thread on them.

Know about them?

The SF dudes I was supporting out in ingin country were running Cooper's on their DMV's (Modded HMMV's)

I had a set of the cooper discoverer at3 tires that seemed to work fine for 20k miles until I sold the truck.  Now thinking of putting another set on the suburban.  You have any thoughts or experiences good or bad with those tires?  They are quite common in my area and I can typically get a set installed for around $700.

Urban Dictionary:

 donk
Any POS late 80's or early 90's American heap (preferably an Impala) that has large enough wheels installed until it resembles (and rides and handles like) a Conestoga wagon. This is done so it sits up high enough so as to be at the same eye level as the Playas with real juice ridin in their Escalades. Adding in a bad candy paint job and Wal-Mart sub box completes the transformation.
With no money left over for necessary suspension and brake upgrades, the lifespan is limited to a few drug runs or the first Police chase, whichever occurs first.
That donk is fly and ridin high.
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

What do you think about the Cooper STT? Trying to find a set now as they discontinued them for the STT Pro.

I run the ST maxx on my LML dually and love them. Great grip in some soft stuff and good road manners. Slight hum between 40 and 60 mph but nothing like the Toyo or nitto mt tires my friends run. And the price ain't bad.

Tires are in, waiting for the wheels. Going with Ultra crushers, all matte black and an 1" wider.

Can sell what I have for a few hundred as they still have some tread. Got over $300 in rebates so total cost is not bad.

The Dmax is getting whole make over after this (like I need more projects) Amp steps, Cognito 4-6 lift, fuel tank skid, and finally the bumpers!! I have had it all for a few months, a bit here and there. Sparty will be on the road first though on the gaser.

Looks good JR.!
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.
