Probably buy an auger. TSC has em for a good price.
Love to get a dowser up there. Bad part is how deep I may have to drill. Could make an extension I guess.

I got mine from optic planet for well under 2K, but it is just gen 2+. Like looking at a old black/white TV.
Ilum are great, but think animals can see them. I know they say no, but something spooks em.
Just got an ATN scope to, great sale for under $500. Need to do the upgrades now.

Couple spots like this where there is more growth might yield something, but not easy access.

Did you gas it? Looks good, gen? I have a PVS14 but went phosphor.
Not sure about the pics, its seems to be a phone thing. I take all my pics in landscape, no issues.

Think you missed a spot, now I'm hungry!

That wasn't directed at you JR. But yes, that would be a gift for sure.
I knew that, but it would still be great! I found a couple spots last time that looked promising for some water. IE, larger shrubs with much more ground growth than other spots.

Serious question doofus... Thought that you might have a spring .
That would be a true God send.

No pond, want to add a small one. Membrane liner will avoid excess loss.

I'm looking still. Guy I bought the land from recommended a big co. Said it cost him $25 ten years ago. He is way lower than me though.

WHAT?? You can only dig 18ft??? And find water???

I have heard that many times, maybe the same video. If I can find someone who will drill for $30 a foot, that would be great! I had been reading up and the national average is $20-25, how do I get $50?

Understand that alkali is an issue already in some areas. Not much on the surface to do anything.
More I see videos and websites, the more I like DIY solar pumps.

All the prices were per foot, 43-50. One talked about "mobilization fee" and they are local. Another said he need a 60x60 pad, what if I don't build there?
Many questions still and permits are almost $1500. Then cap fees. Couple talked about switching, some didn't like it.
Lots of companies out there with solar kits. Not sure about DIY on that since I have never done it. Most want a "whole" system with the pump, pressure wiring and all thrown in to around 10k which sounds high.
Drilling at the low spot where the runoff is straight down the turn around a few hundred feet is where one want to drill. Then I could run a pipe up the hill to the tank above the build site filling the 2500 tank and giving me pressure.
Hopefully enough for some vegetation around the house and a small pond.

Got a quote for 22.5 for just the hole. Reasonable. Plan is a low well, 2500 tank on high ground with solar pump.

Made a double round trip to Reno, bought a side by side. Uhaul said they had a 1 way trailer until I got there. Then their 5x8 trailer is just 4ft 5in wide???? They measure the wheels too,,,,,,,,,,,
Was going to get out to the land at night to check it out, never made it. Got an address coming, of course via mail? Fuel is $.60 cheaper up there, got 15.8mpg.
Kabota at the dealer, tell me it needs the leaking hub rebuilt, $1100? Want another $500 for changing the Hyd fluid and filter, no thanks I will do that.
Kub dealer in Reno says just the hub seals probably is bad, 2-3 hours.
Getting estimates for the well, 20-30K for just the hole.
Pretty clean little machine, stock. Probably just do a muffler, window and get it wrapped.

Great work so far,you won't hurt those hubs.
Bet they didn't get the singing from you, I can't sing either.
Think I going to put a CV on my front shaft, no spacer. They don't drive over 45 too.
Isn't that a lot of grease on those breaks? Get warm and drip?

Waiting for an address now. Even though I am here, its a couple day process via mail.
Made some calls about wells.30k just for hole and another 5 to 10 punp.3-600 deep, 45+ a foot.

Well, getting ready for the lift and doing more towing now so the regear is coming up next week.
Got a Yukon Dura Grip from Tater yesterday. Taking it up to Sac next week to have the rear done. Just cant afford to be down with this more than a couple days.
4.56 should work better and allow 6th gear use again.

Yep, about the going price and 3 seats are nice. Probably leave it there for a week or so if I get it. No reason to haul home and back up there, but you never know.
Motor is a twin which should make smoother power than a single. Plus the red would go fast, need to blend in more,,,,,,,,(sorry Charlie)

There are so many state employee's it is fine for many years and show billions in assets.
I was lucky and got into the 3@50, everything now is 2.7@55-57 and you pay a lot for it.

States can't go bankrupt per federal law, only counties and cities.
Not that a few states would not like to change it.

That’s why I love TX. I don’t have to permit anything.

Speaking of... when are you moving to Lexington or Indy? :poke:
I declined that opportunity. They wanted me in Indy and I just can go there right now. Kids weren’t supportive neither was the wife I didn’t want that location enough to drag them there against their will.

If you have a lot to move get the permit & play the game.
Think I will do a general permit up front and go from there. Fewer issues in the long run and get under the old rules.

They have changed it radically in the last few years. They are taking way more, raising the retirement age and you get less.
I should be safe with the changes plus it is in our state constitution it must be funded. Then again, only we tax payers follow the law, not the law makers.

Found I should get a permit for grading (needed if over 50 cubic yards). I do have to move a lot of dirt!
May not be a bad thing as if submitted and approved by june 30th I get to use the 2012 codes vs the 2018 codes just adopted.

TRN, I'm surprised you any funds at all with that little chalet going up. What were you eyeing?
Yup, utility it is and getting to those odd spots, mail or just running up into the local mountains.

Yep, I see a lot of machines around 500cc but I think that is to small.
Got a line on a 2008 Ranger xp, 700cc. Wants 5500 for an 11 year old machine.

Yeah, I think up front and in the long run a SxS would be better. A quad will get me there, a SxS will get me there and a friend, carry our stuff and offer some protection.
What do you say for minimum engine size and off brands?
5700
« on: April 28, 2019, 06:05:22 PM »
Dave, that is the allure of the sxs for me too and the kids could use it. The extra size is what worries me, I don't have roads and have ground to cover.
Had a line on a couple of those, gone. They want stupid prices even for one 10 years old.
