In reality there should probably be a machined bushing in that hole.

But yeah the lack of quality is hard to miss and not machining that hole and pressing in a bushing saved how much? Any grease zerks, maybe I missed those too?

Was the piece heavily discounted?

Just the low end model. Overall OK, but all the pivots like that suck.

Going to clean those up and add a bushing to both sides, then a zerk. Figure that will double the surface and take out the slop. Was just going to do washers, but not after seeing this.

I can always do real bushing later after I see how it holds up. Another set of teeth to weld on too.

Just ordered some 1.5 steel rod. Will bore a 1 inch hole in that and bore the mounts to 1.5. Weld the whole thing in and drill a grease zert.

Main pivot looks OK for now, but it may get the same later.

Finally had the time and the weather to paint this thing a little. Using a Valspar Achrilic Latex which goes for about $40 gal. Matched a sample from the land and went down a shade since it was still wet.

Sprayed it with a HF HVLP and it worked great. No showroom quality for sure (went on to heavy) but for a tractor, fine.

Bought a quart to start. It goes on really good, even on unprepped areas, but time will tell. Going to spray some more and use a foam roller too.

Heading up to the prop this weekend, been a month now with holidays. It should go up in a couple weeks.

Aww heck you don't need no stinking grease. As my bosses dad use to say before he left this world..... If it don't take grease just pour some used oil on it.

Have to get it done this week and up at the prop. Garage is such a mess I can barely work on anything.

Had a cracked weld on the bucket, cleaned that up. Looked for hooks to place on the bucket, MIA for now. (messy garage)

Since it is running though I used it to move both my LS motor and the air comp to the side of the house.

After moving stuff around I am back to finishing.

Got new lexan up on the roof today, old was nasty. Used silicon vs the 3M tape they had, way cheaper and could adjust for a few seconds.

Doing some work on the bucket too. Got in new teeth as these are all diff lengths, namely end ones are used pretty much up.

Question on the quick release teeth though. I believe mine are installed backwards. Shouldn't tapered side go the other way? This way gives no give to the mount at all.

The taper looks backwards to me. If there's mud or anything binding, the taper supposed to keep tightening and take out the slack... that's why they're spring loaded.

Well, its just the one side so not that bad.

Replaced the out teeth on the bucket, insides were still pretty good.

Rear panel back on, just needs a little paint.

"Skylight" came out good.

Chugging, slow as may be.

Finally got the rest of the sludge out of the bottom. Just need to get some converter in there.

Little more painting and wiring/electrical.

Trying to get it up to the prop this weekend. Going to take the claw up too as is. Just going to shim the rams and see how it goes. Should fit in the bucket, 1 inch less than the bucket.

Used some eastwood rust converter with the wand to spray the whole area.

Added a simple mount on the back, hooks and a loop to the bucket and 80 watt LEDs to the back.

At least 1 bucket line was leaking so having them all 4 made up.

Tested the couplers for the claw, all is good.

My last 3 point bracket is supposed to be in later this week after over a month looking for it.

Got the drain holes drilled and panels painted. Kept the inside yellow (cat yellow matches good) to see things that leak or fall.

4 new hoses were over $200, but I got adapters to -8an and can use generic hoses now. Also had to knock loose the ram pin and shave an old wrench to fit.

Put new covers on the hoses and got it buttoned up. Now the right bucket ram leaks  Not terrible but it runs out the seal.

Adding a main 12v shut off. Now just have to wire the rocker for the 3rd function.

Wheelies are fun. Just don’t do it with a bucket of manure. Don’t taste so nice.
Technically the back cover will keep you from going over backwards as long as no load in the bucket.
The forks will right you from certain positions. But not on you side...

So got all the wiring cleaned up, new battery terminals and a main shut off next to the seat.

Battery hold down made from a little angle and an inner tube.

Downhill run now, just a couple accs., lights and some more paint.

Ran out of time tonite, tomorrow will be busy on this and the claw. Son performs in a charity USO show tomorrow night, then I am off, hopefully.

Claw still needs spacers and teeth welded on. Plus loading it into the regular bucket for the trip.

Dug needs a little more paint and the lights, 3rd control hooked up.

Getting the old switch out is proving tuff. Looks like they filled the cavity with epoxy.

Loading it up now after getting almost everything done. Probably bring back to rebuild the rams. Have some work around the house too but need to get the pad cleaned off up there.

Got the switch box cleaned out, but not sure about the wires, but I have a rocker on the panel that does it too.

Looks like normal inside now, cept the switch. New anti skid, light bar and little things.

Thought claws would fit into the bucket, but the bucket is tapered in the back just enough to say NO.

Had to sling it from the 1101 and figure a way to mount for the trip, came up with this.

While there is was easy to add a few more teeth to the claws. Those should eat brush really well. Only needed 5.

Mileage sucked with that big scoop back there .

Pulled it off the trailer and it was stuck, all 4 spinning in the dirt.

What the heck7

Somehow the spare rolled out and high centered me.

Now that Dug is all purdied up you can sell it and double your money, then go for something with a lot of weight and as much HP as you can find/afford.

Just used the bucket and pushed it up n off.

Gets around good.learning curve on foot control's, keep wanting to use hands.

Toothed bucket is nice but still struggles a little. I am in the worse spot though cutting last 50ft road into hillside.

Little over 10k with the tires and wheels. Not including attachments. Ram has stopped leaking for now, but will source a couple kits since I saw a seal coming out.

That brings up an issue though. No hyd control to the claw cept open, need to figure that out.

Dug is running great. Lowered the tire pressure to 35 as is was digging in to much. Traction is great.

It can't handle the rock up there digging, so I put the backhoe back onto the Kub.

Guess I lost the lexan up top on the trip up. Silicon did not hold it like the tape.

Even though the seat is new, it is not tall enough. Back is not happy at all and I get stiff using the foot controls.

That's 1/4 up there, probably need to tap but not a big deal.

Going up this weekend, hope the weather holds. I need my front hyd working so I got a few switches to try (2 push and 1 toggle) D/L the sheet showing how to adjust the little box that controls it, just 3 wires in the handle. Long as I don't burn anything up, should be good.

I'd like to add front hyd to the Kub also. Looks like the main block is easy to get too. Heck add it to the rear to for other stuff!

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Need to replace the seat again. Suspension works fine but it is too low and hurts my back.

Needs a seatbelt too. Was a really wide one on it but it was toast. I feel like I am sliding off the seat as I use the foot peddles and can't steady myself.

Neither is a real pricey item, but I need the right ones.

Still haven't fixed the front aux hydro.
