Hope that wasn't your thigh,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,!! The 5.3 is solid and gets good mileage, but 4 doors are great. If you find a 8.1 go for it. About the same mileage as the 6.0 but way more power. Of course, there is always a trailer, best of both worlds.Nice job TRN, I need to badly (land)Kids and wife are at a bible camp until Sat, I went to Reno. Cabelas, Scheels, Summit Racing, 4WheelParts and played a few 1 arms (broke even)Bought a new Viper for the 300aac Ruger, Kayak for the kids, and some 22. First time in years someone wasn't calling every 15min to see where I am, was great! Lasted until the trip home, then got a call. But I'm good until Sat as stated.Mom goes in for another procedure in the AM. Cleaning the arteries they couldn't get done the first time.If shes OK, going fishing Friday all alone,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Quote from: longball on July 25, 2017, 11:24:33 PMContinued the search for a 4 door truck for our expanding family. Almost pulled the trigger on a half ton GMC with the 5.3 but am really struggling with the thought of not having a HD truck available to me. Yesterday I had 1,800lbs of hardwood flooring in the back of my LB7. I couldn't have done that in a 1500. Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI sold my LMM February and got into a F150. I am currently looking for a 2500 with a 6.0. Drove one Monday and have 3 of them I plan to check out tonight. Mostly I don't like the Ford but there have been a few occasions now where a 2500 would have been nice. I test drove a 2015 1500 Silverado last night also. If none of these 2500 work out I will probably start looking at a 2014+. I need the crew cab but also want the 6.5' bed. Found out last night that GM has stop sale on the 2014s. They were all pulled off the lots. Should be back out in a few weeks I was told.

Bot sure why they even went with a 5.5 bed, only truck they made it for. I had a 1500hd, those had the 6.5 bed. But mileage and power sucked.I would go cloth if I did it again.

I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb. I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

They are in fact, the 4x4 long bed crew cab dually really doesn't fit in suburbia.....
I had one when we moved here, it got sold.....
Quote from: stlaser on July 26, 2017, 05:43:35 PMI had one when we moved here, it got sold.....Gotcha...you miss it? After having a 3/4 ton since high school, I don't know if I could live without one.
Hippies. I DD a crew cab 4WD Dually in downtown houston in and out of all the parking garages. Drive it like a forklift. Back it in everywhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

But I can tell you GM is infamous for taking forever for a fix- see Airbag recalls 2007-2010 Silverado/Tahoe/suburban.....still no fix. recalls been out for a year.
My buddy does construction and a lot of work on Beacon Hill in Boston which is tight for a darn Smartcar. He drives a Dodge Cummins Tradesman CCLB, how he gets in and out of there in that beast is beyond me. Got a new camera and was all excited to get used to is (leaving with the family for a 12 day trip Monday) but instead got to work until midnight and back at it today. All the work you have to do to just get ready to go away can be a PITA. But I'm excited to have a DSLR I can take some real pics with! Now if I can figure out the 7,435 functions I might be able to take reasonable pictures!
Yesterday we escaped the heat by swimming off a pontoon boat on Lake Pomme Terre!
Wilbur, which dslr did you pick up?
Congrats Longball, honorary or not, that's a good day. I'm expecting to deliver my new bundle of joy in the next few days. All depends on when momma and the baby decide is time.
Well it's official as of a couple days ago.Got a new job, M-F days only. Done with tools and crazy hours. I've know for a couple weeks now, but wasn't about to jynx it until official. Into lower management now, change of pace, change of gears, and new challenges. Now to decide on which program I want to begin, have a couple options. One is Maintenance Managment Professional, other Certificate in Management...Meeting with boss in a month for performance review and career development meeting.
