It was the midland air carrier I think,   The back of my head says that is a class of ship not the ship name

As for the cockpit I hav no idea.  I was chatting with the donation people while the kids played

I think don is getting tired of wrenching on things.   I completely understand.   I am to the point in my day where all I do is put out fires at work and fix other peoples stuff. Last thing I want to do is fix my own problems and stuff.  Plus wrenching in the cold sucks!!

The last photo will be hung in my garage for ever, This little guy Emmett was my rolling companion.  If daddy’s truck was going with out him in it he was not happy.   Me and him drove home and had an awesome time talking about trees, cars, race cars, big trucks, little trucks, motor cycles you name it.   If momma called it was HI mom I am in daddy’s truck.  Melt my cold frozen dead heart this little guy

The good and bad of my trip for the truck.

First trouble free as all my duramax has ever been!  20 plus mpg on the way out and 19.5 on the way back.

MikeL had a look at the transmission and said it is running as it should. Full service and he called and said sell that truck!!! It drives like crap, rides like crap and makes no power!!!

This caused me some concern as this is a well known guy, been in hundreds if not thousands of trucks from everywhere.... I have had a odd undetectable pulse in the truck at 70-80 mph on a stead increase of speed.  The truck will buck or jump enough to pop a 32 oz cup from the cup holder.

Me and mike called another guy.  No names mentioned pm if interested but he brought over a new computer and replaced mine and they called back and said night and day difference.  Change you tuning and the truck will really preform.

So complimentary tunes (5) and I am in love!!! it’s like driving a stock truck to a tuned truck sort of excitement.   Blow me away smooth, powerful, fuel efficient and cleaner than what I had!

After my original tuner had data logged, adjusted and changed this or that. I got no real change in any noticeable amount.  I was feeling doomed or bummed and that it was just my truck.   Well she is fixed and runs amazing!!!

Happy I drove the truck and the traverse $275 for a new shift lever, full trans flush and pan drop. Plus the tuning was done for the help of helpin a guy.   I call that part of my trip a win.

We walked through the big massive Zoo.

We walked around the navy ship aircraft carrier. Forgot the name at the moment

But I found a good cause to donate to.  A foundation for youth for vocational training. I chatted with the folks for a good bit as they made the bracelet survival para cord thing that I paid a fair price for.  All funds raised go to a scholarship for youth to help them in learning a useful skill.   It was good to see community people trying to better the area in which they live.

It was also neat to learn from the tour about how the steam driven catapult system works   Pretty bad ass if you ask me

The best part and worst part were the drive.

We went to the beach to play in the Not so cold water.   The ten year old loves water and has never played on a beach or waves

Family vacations are very trying for me.   Long extended periods of rest cause me issues to say the least.  A body at rest stays at rest......

We made the best of the wonderful sunshine.  We took the kids to four or five museums at BalBoa Park in hipster central.   One air meseum, art, off-road, model trains.  e

I am just another Dave.... but I think the truck needs finished, what are you gonna pull c-max and the GJeep out of the mulch beds with.   Plus someone needs to post this truck finished in the “other” place as bragging rights!

And there is that giant cool factor of the SquareD running!

Well, GMG (family present) worked wonders on the prime rib. Great success & even the two Golden’s were happy cleaning up bones & scrap.

I have a couple things coming for the JK one of which I ordered from Tate the other day in the way of an arb twin onboard compressor for airing up the tires on the jk. We also booked several trips, one of which is an off-road trip to Moab in the fall with the jk just the wife & I hanging with some old wheeling friends. Guess I better get the axles finished up this spring......

Lots of food & family to help putting it away. All in all a very good day.
Moab you say?  Pm the dates. We are looking at a big boy two wheel trip

Well now I am slightly confused,   I have intention of insulating my enclosed cargo trailer.  I was planning on putting my aluminum insulation facing out.   I would put 1 inch in between the vertical wall supports ( wall supports are 1inch) , than put some small 1/2 inch wood strips over that foam and apply more insulation over that wood and tape seams.    Which direction would I want my aluminum backed foam?   In the summer I would want to keep heat out, winter I will want to keep heat in.    Trailer will be heated and air conditioned as well

Thoughts?

They got ten inches of snow today and my truck did fine up and down but I am not sure how the daughters car would fare. I really love the view.   You can see almost 70 miles west to the great salt lake and 100+ to the south.  Salt Lake City.

Good idea on the key drop.

Dave, that is pricey even with a view. Is it a corner lot or is that the camera.

It’s I phones panorama photo option.  It lets you stand in one location and turn one direction holding the camera steady as possible,  if you follow the curb it might help,

It’s not a corner lot. There is 12 lots available and I would like one of them except the drive up the Mt is a lot in the snowy season.

Don are you going to apply some sort of environmentally safe finish to that wood you just put up?   I have heard of making your own linseed stain and oils but never dug much Further into the topic.

The outdoor stuff on the market now is good for about two rain storms and some light dog traffic in my experience
