We had 18 on the guest list. I had a really good deal on turkey so I bought it up and cooked it to freeze it. I’ll take a pick of the freezer when done. Makes for really good chili

Story time,
My grandfather was much so my mentor in many things in my life, from working with my hands, hard work, so on...
When I was about 13 years old I tackled the idea of wanting to build a shed and my widowed mother and grandfather said sure we can aid in this.
One of the tools grandpa brought out for me to use was a hand held wood plane. Beautiful wood handle polished and machined accents. Well each night I cleaned up my cords, hammers, nails and so on. The one night I left that plane out it rained and rusted it to Holley hell after the storm was done and the sun out I returned to my task of shed building to find that it was trashed! Grandpa to the day he died would point out that plane in my garage and cringe at my lack of care for tools and still my lack of someone else’s tools.
I also left a shovel to close to the bin fire at the farm and one side of that shovel is charred black and he had my purchase him a brand new shovel and he got the new one, two years after he has passed I still have that shovel from when I was a punk ass teen. It hangs in my garage as a reminder to take of my stuff,
I can’t imagine the beating I would have taken for leaving a saw out let alone trashing it with the mower!

I️ brine my turkey for 24 hours using a WIlliams Sonoma brine ( I’m lazy ) with a good white wine. Then smoke on the pellet smoker using cherry pellets. I️ make a compound butter and carefully open the space between the skin and breast and rub butter and insert thin lemon slices. Brush the skin with olive oil.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lemon sounds good Tex I was thinking a dry rub under the skin, bacon slipped in while no one was looking and pellet smoke for hours What do you mean butter compound? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Last night I made 2lb meatloaf wrapped in bacon. Cooked it on a wire rack over a pan in the oven.... don't know how it tastes will report later when I actually eat it.
Also, I made pies!!! A sweet potato and a pumpkin. We grew the sweet potatoes and the pumpkin was some fancy Cinderella pumpkin.
The pumpkin...
The sweet potato!!!
The meat log...
No idea how any of it turned out, but it was made!
I have really like the suspended method. Seems to keep the grease and oil down Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

First and foremost. Who doesn’t have a soft spot in their heart for a regular cab short bed pickup. Add a step side to it and I am drooling. Red is an absolute bonus and the lift and tire size lol I it Idea for your bumper hitch. Maybe cut some plate steel out to the right hole size and use it as a guide or washer type on the inner C portion of the frame. Should locate holes well enough, keep your hitch removable which is s big bonus vs trying to grind around leaf springs ask how I know ;) and it wouldn’t cost much $ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I purchased my truck shell back from my buddy who’s kid totaled it his pick up, I dog out the mobile dog hauling case, made a spot for my flat bed cover Purchased a over the grill billet grill (Lund) for $50 bucks at the dealership than installed the winter grill cover over the top. Washed both the truck and the new to us 2010 traverse, the replacement for the one my wife wrecked. Picture later. Took some family photos in the fall leaves with the kids, dogs, grandma and so on. I suggest go full bore on a trans build, I tried EFI live and made a year before my trans started hitting limp mode on free way on ramps
I have the gorearend torque converter and from my knowledge it works ok, no experts in it, EFI live is amazing and I imagine with your gearing on your truck you have a whole different level of move unlike me and JR, big tires slow things down but you get the torque and the HP to change all of those.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I can't speak for others, but the truck feels a lot stronger. Simply a dramatic change from before and I am not in the most aggressive tune yet. The 37's did affect the performance some, but this was never intended to be a performance truck, just have the power to "make a get-away" in hard times with significant GWT tugging at performance. The truck feels lighter to be sure, and the trans tuning is pretty well done to compliment the new power and smoothness. Get the speedo thing corrected and I'll be plenty happy with it.
While it feels more torque and power to your seat I can assure you that the power added will chew up that trans, race truck or not Don a torque converter won’t save it. Those BA tires and added truck weight are a recipe for problems Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

When we did that large cook it for work we tried some different types of pellets to see and honestly I didn’t Tate a bit of difference in pellet type, the flavor on most of our meet comes from our seasoning. I stick with winco $6.99 for a bag

Good info Bear. I’m 14-16 ft to the lower eave because of the foundation and 12ft walls. I’d have to make some temp scaffolding. That telehandler is 21000 lbs and ain’t cheap and I bet it has to be delivered. A lot of hassle and expense if it won’t be effective

You can sheet from inside Tex, slip first sheet on from inside and build up from there or you can measure from your tails up the four feet Chalk a line across and start first sheet from the four foot mark and you can stand on the top of the wall Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My general rule of thumb for stick vs. mig. If you intend to do sheet metal work, say anything less then 3/16" I would advise the mig welder. If you are doing fabrication work where you are either using clean steel or can easily clean your work up well before fitting parts mig will be more advantageous.
For repair work, and thicker steel (1/2"+) I would recommend stick.
Anyone else have thoughts? I can pick up a good tombstone Lincoln stick welder for pretty cheap on the local classified adds like $200 bucks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dave did you weld that lying flat or uphill?
Reason is, you use two different techniques when welding vertical with stick vs mig
With a Mig you can weld going down, starting from the top. If its adjusted right, it will fill in just fine
But you start at the bottom and go up with a stick welder. Plus with a stick you go left-right-left, touching each piece as you proceed upward and pause just long enough to control the puddle. Its all about the puddle of melt with the stick and going uphill. On the welding test I took back in the day, that and overhead welding were the two big challenges.
A stick in the hands of someone like Shawn is a magical thing. Mig has less finesse in my view, but it gets the job done easily and is very forgiving. Stick welding requires practice and a pretty steady hand.
Technically, you're not supposed to weld down with a mig either. If it's a structural weld I would advise against it.
Don is correct though that there is no weld with a stick called vertical down, it doesn't exist.
Lost with vertical down? I welded that with the plate against the frame, couldn’t lay it on its side. I understand vertical to be as if you were welding up or down a wall. A vertical surface. A flat would be something like on a table or horizontal joint, Tube is simply tube. Upside down would leave me burned and on fire I assume Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
