Not really a tractor by my reckoning, however the company calls it a compact utility tractor. Having owned several tractors in this size before, I can say they are very capable as long as you size the job appropriately.

The fuel tank is in the left fender, as is the fuel level gage

I like how they fit together, that is great. I have a question- do you worry about having to "unclick" all three to get to the bottom one or the middle one etc.? I like that you are integrating it into a support structure for the table but still not sure of "taking it apart" when you want to access it. Just curious, not trying to be a PITA in any way.

Could they be put on end so you could grab one and unclick it without disturbing the others? (I am not sure how the mounting mechanism works or if they could be done vertically with the mounting hardware underneath them attaching to the side/back section of the case? thereby having the handle up)
They click into the next unit at the base, flat side down. I do not know of any base unit other than a roller caddy, so I plan to fab one up once I see how it all works

I don't care about inconvenience. Security and being able to quickly locate things is what's important to me.

Wonder how well that'd work in the back of XJ.
It would work in the back of anything I'd imagine.

But the cool thing is your stuff is organized into a nearly indestructible box that you can separate and go with. You can grab the first aid kit and bandage someone up, then click it back in place, then grab the "Survival kit-box" and pull out your fire starter and get some heat going, then pull out the tool box and fix the leaky rad hose on the truck.

Very innovative.

I wanted to secure or perhaps organize stuff in the back of SquareD so I have chosen the Bosch L-Boxx stackable system to utilize

I ordered: Two of the 4.5" deep L-Boxx1
                One 6" deep L-Box 2
                Tow 10" deep, L-Boxx 3

I figure I'll make one of the 10" deep units a spare parts container. The second 10" will be a tool box. The 6" deep one will be a medical kit, a 4.5" one filled with survival stuff, spare this and that's and the final 4.5" L-Boxx 1 container for a catch all

The plan will be to build a fixture to allow the stack to clip into the floor and serve as a prop for one corner of a fold down desk/bunk. The opposite end of the bunk/desk thing will rest on the fuel tank.

I already have a selection of tools sitting here from Northern to start to fill the tool box, so we'll start to kit all of that out PDQ

I agree completely with the fuel issue. I need to do some research and spend sometime with our master mechanics to figure out what would be needed to convert it to run on alcohol. I imagine re-programming the ECM will be needed. On these older generation 5.3s that is a relatively easy task with a programmer or laptop and some time.

Ya know, a simpler approach might be to figure out how to convert it over to being carbureted. That along with an analog distributor could solve the fuel metering issues.
Or just drop a 4BT in there!

Yes, you are on to something here for all the reasons you just mentioned

Your biggest weak link will be the availability of fuel.

Having said that, if you can get it to run on alcohol, then if you set up a still at your BO location you could possibly solve that problem

Maybe you should consider selling those side steps to fund a new set of diesel spark plugs or something. Then show up down here for a visit and I'll do you up a set of respectable steps/sliders/side ramming devices w/spare tool cache and aux air tank along with a secret compartment for two extra 30 round mags!

That's a tough, low gloss (Low reflectivity) finish you have there.

Glad you're tackling one of these Tahoe/burbs of recent vintage. Many of them out there these days and very affordable, so you really get to be on the leading edge of what I believe will be an ever increasing wave of mods to these capable vehicles.

Another item checked off the list was upgrading all of the light bulbs to LEDs. There are 26, #921 style bulbs and 4, #1156 style bulbs inside the trailer. I haven't done the outside ones yet.
This is what the 2 styles look like:



The 1156 style on the left is good for 150 lumens, the 921 style on the right is rated at 250.
Could you give us a link/source for those bulbs?

I want to do my camper as well

I did, and frankly I was off doing other stuff when all this "Start it up business started. Well I started to get interested in getting it done, and now I want to just shove some fuel in the tank, crank it over and see what happens next. Heck might get another engine repair out of the deal. Big bore...stroker...4-valve head...twins... maybe even weld two 6BT's together just in case I ever need 3,000 ft lbs of torque!

i agree don, i think the motor and trans maybe should be taken out and weighed and then adjust the front leaf spring count to have a better then flat leaf spring stance. maybe then revisit the shocks and perhaps a methanol injection. never be pushed when its your money on the line BIG D

Good friend of mine a mid career deputy.
He leads a prayer group I used to go to every Tuesday
One night he comes in and tells me. He made this stop. Middle of the night, middle of nowhere. All by himself. Vehicle with what looks like three males. Shortly after he made the stop and before he gets out of the car, what he describes as a very strong feeling comes over him and what he describes as something like a voice, that says," Leave this one...just drive off." My buddy who is fearless for once goes with his feeling and just drives off but calls some of his buddies. A bit later they get the car stopped. Escaped Con, Murderer...with some local bad guys, with guns. I have no doubt had he approached that car, my friend would have been killed.

Me, wrote about it in my book. In a gun-bird. I sprint ahead of the formation to cover the birds going into an LZ with some SF dudes. I pop up over this vill in a right turn with the mini gun ready and I get this feeling. Is making my skin crawl. I have an experienced Marine gunner on the mini. I tell him something isn't right. I don't see kids, adults, animals, nada. I warn the assault birds this place is wrong. We get the guys in then hang out awhile to cover them, but like anything helicopter, we get to bingo fuel and have to dity mau. I get back to Kandahar only to find out the guys got hit shortly after we cleared the mountain on departure. One KIA, more WIA.

That feeling is real. Warns us something is wrong.

I made time this week to tear the generator down. The bearings and just about everything except the cylinders, looked practically new. The bottoms of both cylinders were full of oil and very little crosshatch remained. what was weird was the oil rings have a huge gap, like 1/8", and both cylinders had the gaps of all of the rings at the bottom....perfectly lined up!

The Holy Spirit makes us each understand the message that the pastor is speaking as it relates to us individually.  Each of us have a blessed day.
When I used to think about the holy spirit and explain it to folks in my earlier Christian days, I'd use Star Trek as an example.
Remember in the Shatner first run editions, when the crew of the enterprise would meet a new alien race, like talking rock people, they would place this metallic, electronic device in front of it/them called the universal translator. The rock person would make clicking and grinding sounds and the voice from the universal translator would speak in English. "I come in peace"

Nice looking rig. I'm sure it will do a lot of work for you. Can I ask an ignorant question- you said you had the rear tires filled with beet juice....is it really beet juice? Or is that just a phrase? And if so why not a water/antifreeze mix of some sort? Is it heavier per gallon or aomething?
For some years now the fluid used to fill rear tractor tires is indeed, beet juice. Very heavy and does not corrode the steel, nor harm the rubber. That antifreeze junk they used to use would corrode wheels in time. But this stuff is pretty spendy. When I filled the tires on my 4720 machine, I want to say it cost some $500!
Beet juice is much heavier than the old fluid, oh, and it doesn't freeze until some very low temps

By us, I am refereeing to people of faith. People who know a living God and the Christ as a personal friend and savior.

What happened in the US Supreme court showed me in almost every way, that they are not supreme, that they do not honor the one supreme being, God, from which law flows. THey are political and have dismissed the constitution, and the will of 97% of the people of this nation and natural law.

Part of the very definition of life is procreation. If a thing like a rock for example cannot through a process of creation produce another rock, it is not life. We know it as a mineral. A man and a woman clearly were created by God. First man, than a companion and a helper for man, a woman. Together they had equal parts in the creation of other men and women. They are life, they can create life, and through their love they celebrate life.

Two humans of the same sex cannot create life, so they cannot be life. The opposite of life is death. And indeed the union of two men or two women equals death through sin. A sin so abominable that God sacked and utterly destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah  two cities given over to homosexuality!

What has homosexuality given this nation? One thing that readily comes to mind is AIDS!

No life can come out of the union of two like-sex partners and God's law is set amuck if we recognize a same sex union as legitimate. Confusion sets in and only by a bending of the natural law can such a union be made to be anything but unnatural. It is in our heart, in our soul to distain homosexuality. The sin, not the person. A person can be saved, but the sin is the evil. The act of homosexuality is a sin. No matter what any court or simple majority says, natural law cannot be trumped. We, who know God and the holy spirit just feel homosexuality is wrong. We read as much in the word of God.

That is the spirit of God speaking to us from inside us where he lives. He is our moral compass. Haters of God have no such moral compass. In times past they had the law, and in the modern context, America is a land of laws. So if one can control the makers and the enforcers of the law, they can bend the truth much the same as gravity can bend light. But it is not natural, the truth is always the same, just as God is always the same.

What just happened in the nations highest court is an abomination. It runs counter to the will of the people. It will set the groundwork for the restriction of our beliefs. What will happen when your pastor refuses to marry two women? What will happen when someone refuses to rent a reception hall to host the reception from the marriage of two men? What will happen when an enraged father acts when a homosexual, now super protected by the law, makes a "Pass" at his son? Think about it

Dark times are coming. God will judge this, will judge this nation. We must not allow this evil to persist in the sphere of our lives. We must band together to resist this incredible overreach by 5 liberals who seek to control yours and my lives. This decision is a really bad move. If this doesn't cause or start some sort of civil insurrection, I will be amazed. And those of you who are elected, appointed, or hired to enforce the law, how will you act? Will you give in and serve this evil? Or will you stand with God?

Now more than ever is the time for God's people to "Man-up!" To hell with this meek, Baptist, bench warming, I don't want to offend anyone, I'm a little uncomfortable about talking about Jesus mindset. To hell with all that, and probably, literally, to Hell with those people who think like that...because if they are saved they need to really ponder and pray over that, when they can't find the courage to stand for Christ.

This court decision is wrong and does in no way represent my beliefs.

Today, in one breathtaking move, the nation's highest court took for itself the power reserved for its people -- overturning the votes of millions of Americans and demanding that they walk away from millennia of human history, human nature, and the explicit teachings of Scripture in the process. Exactly two years after this court took an iron gavel to federal marriage law, the same justices came back to finish the job -- inventing a sweeping "right" to same-sex marriage no founding father intended.

Are we disappointed? Yes -- but not surprised by an increasingly activist Court that sees itself as super-legislators. While five justices may have trampled the will of more than 50 million people, they do not have the moral authority to redefine marriage. Just as Americans refused to accept the Court's decision on abortion 42 years as legitimate, they will not accept this one. Like the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling, this all but ensures that America will not achieve broad social consensus on marriage. Why? Because it will be used to rob Americans of their rights in the marketplace, in the education of their children, and most importantly, in the expression of their beliefs on marriage.

And we are not alone in that view. Justice Samuel Alito in his dissent signals far more than the death of marriage. "Today's decision will also have a fundamental effect on this Court and its ability to uphold the rule of law. If a bare majority of Justices can invent a new right and impose that right on the rest of the country, the only real limit on what future majorities will be able to do is their own sense of what those with political power and cultural influence are willing to tolerate."

Desperate to justify their overreach, one that cannot be supported by the Constitution, history, or even human tradition, the majority insists that there are "changing definitions of marriage," "where new dimensions of freedom become apparent." Wrong. The nature of marriage has never changed -- and never will. As Congressman Joe Pitts (R-Pa.) powerfully reminded people, marriage was the union of a man and woman at the time of the Fourteenth Amendment, at the Founding of our country, and in every time and place until 2004. Even then, no court overturned natural law. And today, no court can -- not even the Supreme Court of the United States. What God imprinted on the human heart, no judge can change.

For 11 years, homosexual activists have hidden behind the black robes of the court, trying to force their will on America before people wake up to the devastation. Today, in the court's arrogance, they succeeded -- swatting away the democratic expression of 50 million people like gnats on a humid day. "Today's decree," Justice Antonin Scalia fumes, "says that my Ruler, and the Ruler of 320 million Americans coast-to-coast, is a majority of the nine lawyers on the Supreme Court. The opinion in these cases is the furthest extension in fact... This practice of constitutional revision by an unelected committee of nine, always accompanied (as it is today) by extravagant praise of liberty, robs the People of the most important liberty they asserted in the Declaration of Independence and won in the Revolution of 1776: the freedom to govern themselves." Chief Justice John Roberts agreed, noting with poignancy, "If you are among the many Americans -- of whatever sexual orientation -- who favor expanding same-sex marriage, by all means celebrate today's decision. Celebrate the achievement of a desired goal. Celebrate the opportunity for a new expression of commitment to a partner. Celebrate the availability of new benefits. But do not celebrate the Constitution. It had nothing to do with it."

If the President, his party, and this court think that they have resolved this controversial issue, they're mistaken. By disenfranchising 50 million Americans, in a decision divorced of law and logic, they have only poured fuel on the fire. Forty years ago, many people thought -- as some might today -- that the battle for life was lost. Over time, our movement and technology helped to change people's hearts and minds to a new understanding of the sanctity of the unborn child. And we will do it again. As more Americans see and feel the erosion of religious liberty, of parental rights, of children's innocence, and of conscience rights, their opinions will no longer be swayed by emotions and popular opinion -- but by transcendent truth and inevitable consequences that come from its rejection.

With this ruling, there is no doubt the Court has set in motion some dark days for religious liberty. But in that darkness will come a great Light, if believers hold firm to faith and continue speaking into the culture the uncompromising word of God. "This decision shows one thing: our desperate need for the next Great Awakening, and the hope of the Gospel given to all persons," Dr. Ronnie Floyd admonished. "We must rise up like never before with great urgency, to forward the message of Jesus Christ to every person in America."

The times of testing are coming -- just as they have come to every generation of God's faithful. But we will not stop standing for truth. And as conservatives, we will not be standing alone. In statement after statement, interview after interview, great leaders from across this country are making it clear: this is not over. From Governor's mansions to statehouse floors, the message is determined and resolved. "Millions of Americans have voted to preserve traditional marriage, with the knowledge that moms and dads raising kids in a stable home is essential to a healthy nation," Congressman Bill Flores (R-Texas) vowed. "I remain committed to restoring the right of Americans to decide this question for themselves, at the ballot box or through their state legislature." GOP presidential candidates -- the same ones the media criticized for not saying enough about marriage -- blasted the Court for ripping the decision out of the people's hands and making a mockery of sta tes' rights. "The only outcome worse than this flawed, failed decision would be for the President and Congress, two co-equal branches of government, to surrender in the face of this out-of-control act of unconstitutional, judicial tyranny," Mike Huckabee declared. "The Supreme Court can no more repeal the laws of nature and nature's God on marriage than it can the law of gravity."

The chorus of opposition grew until the responses came pouring in from all sides: the Republican National Committee; Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio); Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.); Reps. Vicky Hartzler (R-Mo.) In Texas, Attorney General Ken Paxton promised voters that local officials will not act until the leaders of the state exhaust all of their options. His boss, Governor Greg Abbott (R), fired back at the Court with a statewide directive protecting anyone with sincere beliefs from being punished by the government for "granting or denying benefits, managing agency employees, entering or enforcing agency contracts, licensing and permitting decisions, or enforcin g state laws and regulations." Together, they are telling America: the court may have had the last word on marriage, but it will not have the final one.

For those who are called to such a time as this, the moment has been given to us to stand firm. And that is what we will do. Just got an update. Doctors just removed the ventilator from Andrea. She remains in critical condition, however is now able to breath on her own!
