That looks awesome Nate!

Interestingly, I had some brisket on Saturday. The center was also chewy. I'm not a big brisket eater, but is that sort of the norm?

I'm not connecting the dots here.

Is the truck going back original color or are you painting it olive drab?

Glad to hear it!

I figure Norm took another trip out of town and Ms Kay is busy putting the crew cab together. I'm sure she will fill us in when she is done.
Judging from what we have seen her do so far, I wouldn't put it past her

Little update, I haven't done much but I plan to buy new rims and tires some time this month. In the meantime I've been thinking of stuff I could do and water/meth injection came to mind. I want it mostly for the mpg gains. Thoughts on it?
On a gasser makes little to no power, except that it allows you to turn up the boost if supercharged and advance the timing (delays onset of preignition).

But on a diesel will add 100-150 ft lbs of torque and as much as 75HP to a healthy late diesel and improve mileage a point or maybe two.

It's all academic.
With the looming repair bill on Big Red, and demanded work down at the farm, I'll be lucky to be able to afford butter for me pancakes!

I just really liked that gun. Best feeling 7.62 AR I have handled to date. Started with the DPMS AP4, the started liking the Ruger SR762, but this gun feels one step above the Ruger which was a better gun than the DPMS in my opinion.

Might find a way to stick it in the M4 mount I'll install in the loader and the tractor, you never know!

Besides when it comes to 7.62 shooting, I seem to always stray back to my M1A NM gun. Just a sweetheart of a shooting toy there.

I like it!

We need a build of one of these later Tahoe/Burbs.

My family has owned two, a 04 Z-71Burb and a 08 Yukon Denali. Both outstanding people movers, but the wife would not allow me to do anything to them...I wanted to do something with them soooooo badly!

So I went over to the local fantasy shop (Gun store) to check out a single stack 9 for the frau.
I ended up buying a S&W M&P 9 compact single stack for her, so mission was completed with a minimum of fuss...

I thought

Then the guy selling to me said you are always looking for a nice 7.62 black gun, right?

He says, he just got one in...A sig 716

Wow

What a nice piece of shooting hardware

I mean nice! Pretty crisp trigger, nice furniture, 16" bull barrel, 1-10 twist, beautiful all metal flip up sights. and a great (Mag-Pul??) stock with a very good check weld. The gun is smooth. No rattle, no rocking, pins are like really tight and it is just all beautiful. Asking $$$ is 2,199

I waaaant it!

That whole thing got me to thikin'

So I went down to the gun shop. My wife carries a M&P9C and she constantly complains of it being too heavy. It's a 12 round double stacker.

Well, wouldn't you know it, they now make a single stack 9mm compact with 8 round capability, so I bought one!

No range time yet, but the pretty lady liked it, and it's now in her handbag!

Nate,

Not too far from reality, you opening a real Nate's cookin' corner. I'd come for darned sure! So just today, I went over to a nearby artsy-fartsy farmers market sort of place to score some seasoned olive oil. Well there in the corner of the building is a new barbeque place. The guy doing the cooking outside notices me sniffing and yells out, "Smells good doesn't it." To which I responded with a north/south head shutter. After the olive oil thing, I march over and notice a pic of a young Marine. I compare the facial features with the guy behind the counter. I figure this is the same guy, a few decades removed.

"Marine eh?" I queried. He says yep, you? I said Army and before he gets finished saying whatever he was conjuring up, I say in a very loud voice, "I pulled more Marines out of a jam than most of you jar heads can count so save it sarge, and get me something to eat!"

That got a good laugh and he and his wife fixed me up with like $50 worth of pork, brisket, smoked eggs, coleslaw, beans, and who knows what.
I was right, retired Marine NCO! I thought of you, Nate...Could be you...

Couple of guys here doing their own torture test of two popular pistols, the Glock 17 and the Beretta 92F
I carry both of these brands. I have a 3,000+ round 92F and a favorite G19. I carried both in combat zones, and liked both, and still do.
Seems the elements have reduced both weapons to a common failure state.
BTW, My 92F has NEVER failed, Never. I did get a failure to feed and no lock-back when empty malfunction on the G19. My other glocks, G21, G30, and G23 have never malfunctioned

That's tough Nate
Biblically, there is a case for what happened to you.
Familiar with the concept of the sins of the father?
Basically it is all about a generational curse. For example in one generation one of the parents is given to drinking or depravity, or stealing or so forth.
You often see it in the siblings having the exact same problem...The problem simply transitions to the next generation, hence, generational curse.

Ever hear the phrase, "The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree?" simply an observation on this biblical principle of generational curse.

What do we do about it? Is there anything we can do about it? Yes there is. Through the power in the name of Jesus, one breaks the curse in his generation. Since this site is about Real men and our problems and issues, we are talking about taking responsibility, manning up and doing all those things to correct that which is wrong with us and our past.

So, that's just it right there. break the curse. Fix it in your generation. Nothing some of us can do with unreasonable spouses, but God can. If we give it all over to him and remain obedient to do what he says to do in his word, he will be obedient to his word as well and do what he says he will.

Not sure if this helps, but it is what immediately came to mind when I read the last response to this thought provoking thread.

And I am not all that inexperienced in this area. My first wife...drugs, other men...you name it. And me, a young soldier trying to straighten up my life. She got custody and I got child support in the divorce. Same thing, judge saw the child would have more stability in a home with a mother who used drugs and moved fairly often than with a soldier in the US Army. So I paid that support, to a court, so they would dole it out to her.

But when I finished flight school, a young officer walked up to her and flatly told her that she had one choice. Give me our son to take away and raise or I would not quit until I proved in any court we found ourselves in that she was an unfit mother, was mentally ill, was a drug abuser, and anything else I could dig up. And, it worked. She tearfully signed the paperwork and I got to take Little Don to Germany where that kid just blossomed.

Just sharing...we are all more alike than we ever thought back in the D-Max forum days, eh?

26572
Powerful stuff there! Do you mind if I copy and paste this to share with others?
Of course not!

I did that once for a friend, fellow warrior.
He wasn't saved, but I knew him through many years, special operations and maybe 3-4 years of combat tours we served together.
He went astray one night and I called him.
Nearly went to a fight
Later when trouble came to him and he was at his lowest point, one night, he called me
I told him about Jesus, and he accepted the Lord as his savoir
He is now a changed man for the most part
Got away from the bad influences and really turned around
Takes courage to look a guy in the eye and tell him the truth, but for his sake, you need to do it!

Looking real good. Are those D rings 5/8s?

Welds look better too.

Speaking of ammo cans, they are going for around $12 on ebay right now.
D-Rings are 1"

I was thinking of a biggin...like the 20MM or the 30MM ones. Weld up a foot for it to rest in then get captured by something. Keep things like a fuel siphon, recovery stuff, and stuff like that in there

Looks darn good.

You plannin' on making a hinged water carrier, like cmax, or is that STSI (super top secret info)?
Ken, yep, very similar design to C-Max, just more robust
Tire carrier on the right rear, 3ea US Armee water can carrier on the left + a high lift jack, + a big ammo can if I can squeeze it in.
Tire swing arm will bolt to both the bumper extension and to that steel "Halo" I placed on top of the bed.

Remember how well I bolted all that in? Remember I made two holes with captured 3/8" nuts inside the halo? The right side holes are for the swing away tire carrier and the left halo is for a ladder which is going in with this build as well.

I have long thought that the most effective tool of Satan is a father who has been turned (away) from God and his obligations and his family
If Satan can destroy the man, then the family...the whole family will surely family

That means that we men are going to be under attack. We are going to garner attention from the evil one because if he gets us, he gets the wife, the daughter, the son, and maybe even some adult parents as well.

So we, men, must lock arms, and stand firm on the word of God. Stand together and for our little part, Not give one dam inch to Satan. Stand with me!

This is only the flat face of the bumper. Above it will be a 2" 45 degree plate, then a top plate. I will add in a 1/4" horizontal rib and a bottom flange or skirt as well, so this is by no means the finished appearance
