JR, this is for Starship.  This is what is replacing the Falcon rocket and dragon capsule.

Well originally the capsule was supposed to land propulsivly BUT due to technical reasons it wasn't done.  lets just say it was not good times and leave it at that.

I understand. Err on safety and known tech vs having a accident.

I can only imagine what it might be like working within such a forward looking company like (take your pick) Tesla, Space-X, some other less known division of Elon's which is poised to set new benchmarks.

Too early to say, but will Elon be the 21st century equivalent of Nicola Tesla and Edison combined?

Will he be the driving force behind man's first landing on Mars and asteroids?

Its downright exciting to watch this unfold.

Will he be the first guy to smoke weed in space?

Someone’s gotta do it....

But yeah. Can do spirit and lots of imagination is the American way

As always...WOW!

The thought that a private company is able to do this, and do it so well is awesome, it truly is!

So after 3.5yrs we are going to try to fly this pig, if we don't get sued and have an injunction leveled against SpaceX the launch date 04/17 0700CST.

Most powerful rocket ever built!  If it happens try to have your kids watch, it will be quite the show!

Too cool!

Big step forward even with the "Rapid Unplanned Disassembly"

Thanks for keeping us in the loop Phil.

I would not call that a failure.

Space X just lifted the heaviest thing mankind has ever lifted off this planet.

That is really what this historic flight was about, and it was successful.

It is ashamed to mar this momentous accomplishment with the costly loss of the second stage vehicle.

But

Both component parts were scheduled/planned to be lost during this flight anyway

Congrats again, Space X!

Totally agree.

Their only goal was to clear the tower, so mission accomplished!

Phil, what is the fuel consumption of that thing?

Gallons per second?
Pounds per second/minute?

Oh, and all 33 Raptor engines fired this time!
Congrats SpaceX!

That was an Amazing flight.
Booster rud was quite photogenic as well.
My biggest issue was watching the SpaceX and NSF live feeds at the same time.
