Glad you are getting better Dave. That is never fun but we all have gone through it.

Nice score Ken, more toys are always better.

Ryan, I have been lucky on that. Mine have always been near home before a trip. Last few have been free via costco warranty.

Speaking of toys, this followed me home today. I have decided to sell both the XR600 and the TH. We just don't use the TH and the honda needs lots of work still. Then the 1500 sub goes and I may have a buyer.

This is an 1993 Chapparal with a 4.3 V6 with a looks to be a carter carb. 18ft open bow in great shape. Advertised as a 91 for $4800, I paid 4300. Hopefully try it out on tuesday since school starts thrursday.

It is burning everywhere in this state. this is over the hill from my house, out now thank god.

That basically IS my boat JR. 19' Larsen w/ the 4.6 and alpha outdrive. Have fun!

Well. Sitting in the airport. YWG. YEG. YYJ. YVR. SYD.

My name was pulled from hot standby to you’re goin boyo!
I’ll be quite possibly silent for next two and a half weeks.
The last airport code tells the tale. 18 days down there.

Depending on AO I may get some wifi but not holding my breath.

No anger issues Charles. Don’t even remember how it came to be, just came out one day and has stuck...some people want to foolishly punch them. I know better, and headshots don’t ruin any steaks which HH6 says are tasty.
Waiting in airport to wait in airport to wait on 15 hrs flight time...

Not looking forward to the flight. The destination for sure.  Back is sore and I’m tired already. Not a good start. But tomorrow is another day and another AO so it will all be good.

^^^ Looks gangsta!

If I was a cop, I think I'd pull that over just cus!

If I was a gun pilot, I think I'd lay in 1500 rounds to that and the truck. It just looks wrong.

And lookin' wrong meets my ROE...

We had GAU-17, 7.62 miniguns

I'd hate to think how many rounds we fired. I do know that we had ten gunships. A normal mission, we put up two guns, maybe four. The first year we expended our basic load of 1,000,000 rounds. And I did several more years like that.

Some regiment guys had .50's, the Marines had .50's, and of course the Apaches shoot 30mm. The Air FOrce over there mostly dropped bombs or used A-10's firing a different, high velocity 30mm.

It is only the AC-130 bros who shoot a combo of 20mm vulcan, 40mm twin, and a single 105 breach loading cannon

Started some maintenance on the mini x this week, and the bucket was top of the list. The machine has 1500 hrs, but the bucket and quick release look a bunch older. The teeth are completely worn down, cracked mount, 1/4" slop, and a couple holes through the bottom layer.

Got the bucket to fit a little tighter, and cut off the bad section on the bottom to make way for some 1/2" thick wear bars. (just mild steel)

Hard face rod? Mild steel not an issue if you plan on laying surface welds over it some.

Btw, my welding was getting really questionable before I bought glo back. Once I did I bought a new helmet, didn’t realize how bad or non operational my old helmet had become. It wasn’t my welding it was I couldn’t see!

Most of those welds don’t look too shabby, just grind out some of that chicken crap and run over the worst parts again.

Ken looks good, ya don't likely want to know how many we have done with a mig LoL

I have a skid loader bucket from my little 1835B case that needs a cutting edge, new feet/teeth and a few bushing holes made smaller and round again. Maybe this winter....I have used it twice all summer, so not a rush I suppose. I should also fix the charging system as well....nah

This week, turned 55, finished first week with students starting my last year (a$* clowns are sprouting already!), got a haircut, had breakfast with my 78 yr. old dad and visited my buddy Ray.  Also learned NOT to put vodka on top of good Bourbon = killer headache 2hours later!

Smiled a LOT at work realizing that I won't have to be there to bail-out a sinking ship......inmates were given the keys to the institution and the bilge is starting to take on water....

Yep, got to see what you are welding.   found out the same thing a coue years ago.  Was using an auto darkening helmet.  When I switched to a decsent fixed shade helmet I could see what I was doing so much better.

I like my new helmet, still an auto but I know a lot of guys who have went back to a fixed shade. But I’m telling you I felt pretty dumb after using this new helmet & not realizing prior what was going on exactly.

My issue is getting too far away from the work...symptoms of a sore back. I also had to buy a cheater lens but lost it already. lol
I do have a few auto hoods, 2 of which are very clean/clear (new). I don't think I could ever go back to a fixed.

I can see the usefulness of auto darkening when doing a bunch of stitch welds like most of you are doing.   It's not uncommon for me to put down 24"+ in one go.
