I’ll echo Bobs comment.
But I also understand a mans gotta do what he’s gotta do for the family.

Congrats Dave!

I can’t exactly say I decided to be a truck driver, means to an end at the moment.

I do agree with you, I do wish I could have made it further into my engineering career, I simply couldn’t get on for what ever reason and I still refuse to work the sixty hours they desire from the job set.

I’m gonna call it building my talents instead of taking and hiding them from the world.  I’m sure Don or Charles will come along with the scripture reference

Congrats Dave.

On our way through Utah and Montana, my buddy (professional trucker) giggled every time we saw a set of triples, especially with the wind we were driving in. Not allowed in northern Arizona.

So 16-18k loaded? A little much, no?
It will pull it but it might be a good time to put the air springs on that you keep avoiding. ;)

You have a 2500, right Dave? What’s the pin weight? Air bags or not, probably over what the truck is rated for.

That is bigger than my 5th wheel. In my opinion too big for a 2500. But if you are only going short distance and you are careful its fine.

Made the first leg of our trip and found oil all over. I believe I found the culprit. These are the dipstick and filler tubes. Must have rubbed a hole or it's pushing out the dipstick tube and running down.
Also, I forgot all my standard wrenches at home.

Made it to Pine Bluffs Wyoming. Spent the night at a distillery. If any of you are in this area I highly recommend it. I am not hard liquor guy but this vodka is top shelf. I don't even have a headache this morning. https://www.pinebluffsdistilling.com/

I know some of you were planning a trip later this month. It's well worth the stop.

I’ll be helping my aunt with some gravel moving today, she is building boxes for a garden and we are building a walking path around the boxes I think lol

Borrowed this cute little trailer from the neighbor,  one yard for my dump truck seemed silly considering the fuel would cost more then the pea gravel

We missed all of it. The oil leak persist but not getting worse. Oil level has not changed so that tells me it's a miniscule amount. I will take care of that when we get to Idaho. It just makes a big mess. Definitely need to hit the truck wash before we check in.

Tonight we are parking lot camping at Little America truck stop in Wyoming. We found a goofy corner with room to run the slides out without being in anyone's way.

I dug a three foot hole and hit a well

Then I decided to see what was in the well with a five inch hole saw

Look there is water in it!!!

So might as well use the well since it’s on my land?

I’ll cut the top of the ten inch pipe off and put a irrigation cover on it.    And see if it becomes useful later in the “summer”

It cooled off last night so I went and started tinkering with my oil leak. I removed the clamps and cleaned the filler neck and dip stick tube with brake clean. No holes were obvious. About that time the gentleman parked next to us came over to see what I was doing. I showed him my mess. He stated that he also has a 60 series detroit and has had that same problem. He told me to pull the dipstick and clean it off then he disappeared for a few minutes. He returned with a new O ring for the dipstick. It fits very snug now. So today we will see what happens. He would not take any pay for the part. He said they are 75 cents. Go get a few and keep them in your tool box.

Moved lots of dirt this weekend at the ridge (pics).

Have a "braking vibration" on the Dmax. Was hit and miss but it reared its head this weekend. Bet the front rotors are shot, just 220k on the factory brakes!

Some reason I am locked out of email on cellphone. Came home to 180 mgs,,,,,,,,
