I won't run aluminum. Just too much extra effort to keep checking the torque, but those steelies look very impressive.

Thanks Tate.  Its dangerous that you have my CC on file.  I could just call and say, "Tate, send me a locker for the front and rear of both trucks and some 4:11s for the Bus...." But then I'd have to add a dog house to that order....

tell ya what, you order gears and lockers for both ends on the dually and the bus and i'll build and ship you a very nicely appointed doghouse.

Very tempting indeed!  I've never set up my own gears before but I'm itching to try it one day.

If I get my way on the LML, I plan on twinning it (475 or 480 over stock), manifolds and up pipes, 33s and 20 inch wheels and some 4:11s.  I think that would win a drag race up a hill towing a 15,000 lb trailer

Ok. Small progress. Snuck away from work yesterday.

Got the rear rotors installed and attempted to bleed the brakes. Apparently once you let the system gravity drain empty, you can't just hook the pressure bleeder to it as I normally do. Something to do with the abs.

Got the exhaust roughed into place with the HushPower muffler. Sounds much better. Still deep and authoritative but subdued.

How long before completion? You must be getting close.

if you're still dealing with the brake bleeding, you'll need to bleed at the master first. once air is removed from the master, you'll move onto the ABS unit and follow the abs bleeding sequence (unless Ken corrects me, I believe that this is not possible without a scan tool to run the ABS cycle. Then you can move on to the calipers as the ABS has now forced air into all the lines. RR LR RF LF in that order. Worst thing in the world for me when I was at Les Schwab was letting the darn master cylinder go dry, and having to manually prime the older master cylinders with a screw driver.

Roger that on the brake bleeding. Air in the ABS module is hard to remove. Now you can follow the GM procedure...

or

You can take the truck out after a normal bleeding and following acceleration stomp on the brakes a few times. The idea is to get the anti lock mechanism to cycle. That will purge any air in there. You will notice a stiff pedal after doing it once or several times, depending on how much air snuck in there. I did it to my Silvy and the technique worked just fine!

I've performed the same technique before as well. A word of caution though; depending on how much air is in the ABS system, it can and will force air into the brake lines. jump on it a few times, get the ABS to purge, then repeat the final caliper bleed sequence to be safe. After stomping on it to cycle the ABS, also be cautious on your way home, the pedal can get soft.

Leave it to modern times to complicate a perfectly simple hydraulic system. But FWIW I did the same thing on a Crown Vic... repeated cycling of the abs and it finally bled out....large pain in the backside.

Ken and I chatted and he had a suggestion to cycle the ABS.  All four wheels up on jackstands and crank it and put it in gear then step on the brakes.  ABS kicks in....

Getting close, just not enough time to work on it lately.

All four up, so in 4x4? Will there be enough of a difference if all 4 are being driven by the 4x4?

Will that work? I thought is prevents them from locking sold or changes rates when they are stopping out of sync?

in 2wd in gear giving it some throttle to overcome the slight brake pedal in the rear.  The front wont be moving.  It will sense the front wheels locked up

Spacers on. Axles and flange gaskets back on. Bled brakes. Out some clamps on the exhaust. Tomorrow I take it to a shop to have them adjust it and weld it. I just don't want to weld on my back.

Stance is much better with spacers

That's a sticker you only can get by attending the police foundation gala. Oddly enough although I don't display them thinking I'll get slack, I've had great conversations on the side of the road because of that one. I have the lifetime 100 club sticker on my dually and it don't help either  I've been let off more times than I can count. Nowadays I just say thank you and take the ticket straight to the attorney.

What are you getting tickets for that deserve a trip to an attorney.

That block is 5 inches. On 2010 springs. Zero wrap with the track bars.

Ok. Brakes bled. Used speed bleeders and the brake pedal. Took the truck to the local muffler shop and had them weld it up and he made new hangers and got it right. $50 well spent

It's done for the re-lift rebuild of the suspension. Gonna have a friend do the water pump and fuel rail pressure sensor. I replaced the bad power mirror switch and now just have to expoxy a new tab for the drivers door pull which is broken. Also plan on having a detail guy polish and seal the paint.

About to be the daily driver. Absolutely love the sound of it now that it has a real exhaust on it.

To my dads surprise I picked up a 69 mustang coupe a couple years ago. He knows I'm a die hard Bowtie guy, but there's something about that era, all brands theres a model or two on my I will buy given the opportunity to.
Has a 351W in it, and I'm not sure on my plans on it. Once I find time to determine if it's all original, that will determine the course of action on it.

I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Friend in high school worked at a machine shop and built a nova bout like that. 400 small block, screamer. Could barely keep it on the ground.

I love the stance of those Novas lowered a bit with big chrome. Hot car for sure
