I find pushups to be an effective behavior modification technique.  My daughters have to do pushups for many infractions.  20 pushups per lightswitch I have to switch off behind them....

Do you think this method could effectively be used on wives also?

With a quick search on wikipedia: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Griswold_Manufacturing

That pan was made between 1960 and 1969.

As far as being a valuable piece, probably not.....(just because of the date of manufacturing and the sheer number of them still being available.)

I can probably find you a more exact price if you want, but it may take me a day or 3?

Can you post a pic of the cooking surface please?

let me clearify the highlighted sentence please.

in 1960, so international trade regulations changed requireing that all cast iron manufactures in america put "made in usa" on their products.  during that time, it seems that the foundries changed their processes and added more metal, which in turn added more weight to their products.  as well as changing the smoothness of the actual cooking surface.

so from a collectors stand point, everything made before 1960 is considered a collectable and worth some sort of money depending on how rare the piece is, and anything made after 1960 is considered "not an antique"

Now you guys have me curious.  I have a skillet my wife inherited from her grandmother.  It has a big ridge on the bottom side which is supposedly for mating with the slot in a wood burning stove. How old do you think it may be?

The ridge was a lot bigger. 20 years ago I ground it down

And this is the pan I learned to cook on at 5 years old. And I think it was old then

I wasnt going to comment on value, because i have no clue as to worth.

I was going to say that because the black pan has no markings other than the gate mark (the straight line thru the middle of the bottom), that dates it to roughly the middle os the 1800's.

Around 1890 the cast process was changed so the there was no longer a gate mark.

Yes he did. Pre 1890, pre-grinder, possibly came over on the Santa Maria. Charles is definitely old.

Point of order

Sergeants don't tell Oficers to do pushups

Except

In branch qualification school

In Airborne school

In Air Assault school

In Ranger School

In RIP

In SFQC

In Sere (Especially in SERE)

In water survival school

In Jungle expert school

At the pistol range

At the rifle range

At the AK-47/shotgun, well, any range...

In some other services' schools

When the warrant looses a bet to the platoon sergeant

When the warrant looses a bet to the first Sergeant

When the Warrant looses a bet or several bets to the Sergeant Major

At any POW camp during training

When the officer is wrong about something that he was foolish enough to make a bet on

Dunker training

When the NCO is a SEAL two times your size (And you're near a body of water)

Some ceremonies

Hail and farwells

Meet and greets

During times the Officer under the influence, lost a bet during any of the above

(Did I mention that already??)

And some other times

But other than these, the NCO does not drop the officer

I guess I proved my point rather well!

;-))
