Sorry, late to the party. Is the motor actually damaged or just the pickup plugged? Or you don’t know yet?
I think JR hit it on the head in his earlier post and the pickup is clogged from debris. we'll know hopefully this weekend, but it went from no pressure, and pretty healthy lifter clack, to some oil pressure and barely noticeable tick after 2 days of sitting at the shop. I'm leaning metal is not from my motor and probably still salvageable. we'll drop the pan and mechanically clean the pickup and inspect the o ring as well as run some seafoam and new, known clean oil through it and see what happens.

Don’t do any of the work yourself. You reduce the credibility of the findings.

Take it away from their 3rd part stooge and find another shop who knows their stuff.

In the end it’s going to come down to an economic decision on their part. The cost of your motor versus the legal cost to defend.

Find the nastiest bull dog of a consumer lawyer to draft a demand letter once you have it independently analyzed and you have it fixed with the  total cost in hand.

They’ll play ball more than likely as courtroom time is $350-500 hr plus they know they’ll likely lose

Sorry Tate. Wish the news was better

Tate, my guess is the motor is ok. Clean it good & have a good mechanic look it over like Charles stated (third party not you, no offense) you made need him in court....

Thanks guys, all those suggestions are now in play. I neglected to mention that my co-worker is a ase certified mechanic with his own business licensed and bonded that his father in law manages. He agrees the motor is most likely OK and on paper, he's doing all the work. What I still don't know is who I should send the oil off to for analysis?

I used Polaris Labs but they have since gone to volume only meaning. They have to process like 10 samples.

Samm, i truly hope you do not live in ka-bec.

For those of you who have never been to Quebec,  i advise you to never go there.

I have been all over this earth, and dealt with many different kinds of people, but the one nationality that is truly a waste of oxygen is the FARKIN FRENCH !!!!!!

And what makes it worse is the fact that the french canadian fluffers think they are just as wee wee as the oxygen thieves from that spineless country across the pond

The reality is those on the left want a war & the first shots may have already been fired, time will tell. Those on the right are not awake to this fact and sitting here in disbelief of the circus acts those on the left are performing daily.

This is Rant part of the forum? Well here it goes...  Hearing about Dons granddaughter re lit a fire inside me. The dog here on the farm has bitten all my kids, all my brothers kids, a friends kid and the neighbor. Drew blood a couple times. Yet my boss refuses to see that she is a problem even though he witnessed it more than once. We will all be in the office talking, the dog will come in and bite A kid for who know what reason. Then he says you guys just need to keep the kids away from her. Um No.  I live here. I am not making my kids stay inside all the time. No kids allowed in the shop now? No I don't think so. We have been very careful around her but I know it will happen again. She came real close to disappearing last time it happened. The next time will be the last.

I can understand the man's protection feelings for that dog, I guess I shared those feelings for Scout. But people are more important. I mean family type people. I'm a happy man when my or some other dog chews up some bad sort, but when it turns against family, you have to make a choice.

I nearly shot Scout dead the night of the bite, but just couldn't come to that. I just couldn't. But by the next morning, reasoning was kicking in and from that moment on every time I'd think of Scout, I'd see the image of that child and her mother screaming and bloody. That did it for me. Clear (albeit) hard choice.

I'm in a catch. I didn't have 2 nickels to rub together when I started here 17 years ago. The man has done so much for me and my family. Took us in and made my brother and I partners. We can't jeopardize everything by taking care of the dog but can't allow it to keep happening. Like I said above. We are in agreement here that it happens again the dog is gone and nobody knows where it went.

Don I really feel you. I don't know exactly how you feel but it's close. She never bit that bad just nips but drew blood.

My opinion. Don’t wait for it to happen again. If you don’t think reason or logic will prevail. It’s much less suspicious for the dog to make an exit now.

Some TRN logic there. Sure you don't to upset someone who has brought you in. However safety over rides feelings often. If it disappears right after something happens there could be some issues. If it just disappears, it's where is the dog?
