Coffee Induced Early Morning Rant / Re: French Military
« on: May 09, 2015, 05:43:28 AM »
Hahaha I look at its as friendly poking, for the most part we have our frenchy jokes and they have their american ones. Kinda like me poking at those army guys and their cozy tanks, at the end of the day I'm asking for a ride and i bet you ill get one out of mutual respect between our branches of service (or because them slow thinking army guys got together and finally came up with a witty retort). We have the same respect between our allied militaries.

Yeah rest your pretty little heads this stuff happens everyday with a random name and motto that some air force officer in planning probably thought sounded cool. Besides i have complete and total confidence that 97% of the armed forces will fight for their country and its people, not a government that tries to kill its people

So the mini max tuner has been on the truck since I'd bought it almost three years ago and due to me always being gone and basically pure laziness when it comes to the computer stuff i have not downloaded any up dates or played much with the tuner. Now fast forward to this week, i return back from another few months gone to find a garage filled to the brim with parts for the truck and the bikes so I'm super excited. I start with the bikes because i need the truck for now but i figure hey why not go ahead and install this Hypertech in line speedo cal because with these bigger tires every time i drive  to work (25 miles) I'm slowly throwing off my odometer. Well i take apart the dash after updating the little box (which on a separate note i have a Mac and the software doesn't work so i had to beg and borrow a buddies laptop) install everything all pretty like and put the truck back together. This thing works good and I'm real happy but today i decided to update my mini maxx and sure enough, install the download and it ask me "Do you want to adjust for tire size?"… My lack of research cost me $200 and too much of my valuable time.

On a side note does anyone need a speedo cal for a '07-12' chevy truck?

Careful, the EPA just loves to take over places or say no building when you have a nice pool of water.
They are not on my invitation list!

We'll be G-T-G

…But…but…we need the EPA…otherwise my taxes would decrease and i wouldn't have nice things like EGR and DPF… think of how efficient they could make the farm!

OK, Ranger pics tonight

You'll love this: So the little guy gets into my office while I'm sippin my quoffee on his first morning home. He climbs under my desk and first thing he does is drag out a plastic wrapped stack of .40SW cartridges!

Cool!

Little killer went for the ammo first thing!

His Grand Mom was a service police doggie. Hopefully ate her share of WHT (Worthless Humanized trash) while werkin with the officers!

Thought you were talking about a pre ranger, Took a second to realize you were talking about a dog… It makes more since now...

Well all the planes I've worked on have a flat painted surface but most are the same color and since your od is flat anyway i don't think it will help much except sucking in heat from sunlight. Speaking of hood temp i don't remember if you got a turbo blanket or not but i know a guy that knows a guy.

X3 for carbon fiber because… It adds 10% power!

« on: April 18, 2015, 06:15:07 PM »
This little dude (Viridian light and laser combo) will run you a shade under $300 bucks which is very discouraging  but my buddy swore by it so… I did and here we are. I can tell you right now that this is the best gun mounted light i have ever had the privilege of pointing into darkness. #1 It is ambidextrous with a button on each side (far back and easy to reach) that turns it on and off, pushing both buttons cycles between lighting options. #B Super bright. #3 small and lightweight, don't even know it on there until you turn it on….then you know, did i mention its really bright. #4 easy adjustable laser is one of them fancy green ones that doesn't expand over distance and burns holes thru your enemies. #E Has a strobe function that is so bright and works so well it feels like hunting home invaders in one of those haunted houses at the fair (doubles as a lethal weapon if the home invader is epileptic). They make holsters for it if thats what you're into (i think they want your left arm and first born). All joking aside it is easy for me to say that this is a great choice to slap on the nightstand gun. Purchase one of these and enjoy sunlight and anytime of day.
Your lighting options are as follows
-Light
-Light (strobe)
-Laser
-Laser (pulse)
-Light and Laser
-Light (strobe) and laser
-Light and Laser (pulse)

Well i bought my truck with mickey thompson baja ATZs and loved the so much i bought the newer version when i needed new ones. they are super quiet on the road and have done amazing in sand, mud, mulch beds, and the grass in my yard. also used them to run the sand drags here. One note is they don't handle shard coral well but will hold eight plugs

Check out the historical records of the day my friend. Recon Marines during the Vietnam war definitely participated in Buds. In saying he wore the trident that is what I meant, so let me clarify that point. Ron went through the Buds and SEAL training as a Marine NCO. I said he wore the trident. I actually don't know if he wore it, I assume so, but he graduated from the course and earned it.
The book, "Loco" is about him...
You far and away or home port?
[/quote]

Yeah after saying that i did some research and read something similar to that, i guess i was shooting from the hips the only reason i doubled back and did research was you said he was a pastor so i figured he stood no gain from lying. I got to go home for christmas but I'm out again for awhile. That means more parts collecting in my garage!

Coffee Induced Early Morning Rant / Re: American Sniper
« on: April 01, 2015, 05:00:03 AM »
There have been so many of these movies lately "Hurt Locker", "Act of Valor", "Lone Survivor", now "American Sniper". I am undecided on wether on not this helps the American peoples view on the military because I'm sure there are still a large populous that think the evil represented in these movies is fiction. While there is some hollywood glamour thrown in to bring in the cash i think maybe people are realizing what the men and women of our armed forces have and still do fight against. Even TV shows are now showing a lot of solders not as war hungry better than thou personalities but for the heroes they are and the things they face returning home. I think maybe the pictures and names of actual fallen heroes at the end of each movie make it sink in what has been given or at least it makes me well up. I hope they continue to make these rather than fast and furious 13

29
I think he did

Met a cool guy tonight in church. Former enforcer for the Hell's Angels, ex marine with multiple combat tours. Wore a Seal trident as well...graduated from BUDS and the rest of the Navee training. Shot many times, and is now a pastor. The man has my respect!

Hmmm maybe i don't have all the facts but unless he at one point was in the navy, got out, and THEN joined the marines then i assure you he has not earned a trident…

Glad to see Cmax is alive and don has hurt himself since i was last present. My cognito ball joints also went out but i replaced them with some moog ones  aka "problem solvers" and I've put 3,000 on them with not a sign of damage (just got another alignment before i left and there was zero play). Hows the knee big don?

34
Im happy Square D is back in motion and even more happy to see a "Big Don" tear down of a trans. Looking good and I'm glad your knee is doing well brother, I'm sure the recovery is ongoing but at least your a mobile old salty warrant again ready to snap heads at a moments notice. ;D

Isn't the M11 a military version of the 226?

Yes its a 228 and its a great gun just not ambidextrous which makes it a challenge to swap hands

Don i know you said you carried a glock but big navy has seen fit to take my beautiful beretta m9 and replace it with a tiny little sig m11 and i don't like anything about it so I'm hoping that someone can cheer me up and tell me that the constant problems I'm having with this POS (petite operating system) are in my head.

I was the same i loved my XDM for CC and didn't want anything to do with a glock……then i bought a 23 and needless to say i love it. However, just like every other pistol i have i had to block my magazines to 9 rounds to have them in my house in hawaii. Don't worry i have a fast reload i shall destroy just as much paper with two 9 round mags vice one 18.

I love streamlight products, they have been combat and EDC proven for me in all regards. That being said, as for weapon mounted lights, I have had great luck with surefire products. I love lights, I will put together some pictures and reviews of my trusted illumination devices ASAP!
Sounds great, im getting close to one of those almost home online shopping sprees so i have a Don's garage size pile of boxes to open. If there is anything in particular someone wants tried out i might even be willing to be a ginny-pig on the chance of finding something amazing. Handhelds are great but for the nightstand id like to get a mounted one for the sake of having a free hand to open doors in the house if i need to investigate stuff and things.

Bikes Motorcycles, S x S's, Tractors, and Mowers / Re: DR-650 Build Thread
« on: September 20, 2014, 06:08:07 PM »
Just a thought, being a guy that spends more time on two wheels than four, instead of having your bike bag strapped to the bike have you considered strapping it to you. Not only does this drastically improve your COG issue (doing any trail riding you will be moving the bike under you and you can control the weight better if you are the weight), also if you have to opt out from your bike or get thrown from it during evasion you might not have time to grab it. This is a situation i believe you Don call being up a creek and your paddle is still on the bike, not to mention this might add slight protection for your buttocks if someone threw little chunks of lead at you as you drive away.

47
Hmmm thats intriguing!
