Title: Remington 870 tactical, and a Ruger takedown .22 tune-up
Post by: KensAuto on November 18, 2014, 09:33:18 PM
This was found buried in Don's CMAX build thread. These are Don's posts:

......OK, let's deviate a little here with a couple quick couple of gun builds. Duane came over with his new Remington tactical 870 which he made even more tactical, and I added a couple cool parts to my take down Ruger 22.
Here's the guns before we tore into them:

So Duane goes off to his work bench and I go off to my Mag-pul/ Bravo company Arms work bench and ammo point and the teardown commences!

The shotgun was getting this mag-pul stock and my ruger a new bolt release and extended magazine release along with a cool surprise

After removing a bunch of pins the trigger group stood dissembled and I inserted the new bolt release. The new mag release is on the desk

The shotgun has an integrated breaching muzzle thing that screws in just like a choke

Shotgun is shaping up nicely
Now it gets a tactical flashlight mount

Here's the shotgun all finished!

And the flashlight.
The idea is to fire a test pattern at maybe 25 feet, then adjust the beam so that it is just inside the pellet spread. That way all you need to do is put your target in the light and it's going to get hit!

I decided to paint the ruger. I just don't have any need for a silver anything let alone a squirrel gun, so first step was coating the silver stuff with my favorite John Deere satin black paint and gun lube

After a little drying time, on went several different camouflage paint stripes.

You're a monster Ken!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

A stirring round of applause for Dr. Ken, for doing all this for us.

In another two or three million posts, why, he'll have it all transferred over here!

Yes, well done Ken. That extended/oversize mag release is huge!
Also is the new bolt release a big improvement?
I think those guys do an upgrade for the trigger as well.

Only a few million more to go and cmax will all be transferred!
