Not my house but one of the many of the days projects

This is our houses progress

After the insulation guys left I noticed many many spots.  They came back and filled them in today

So to fully understand the artwork on the unfinished drywall, is this just to be shot w/ spray texture and painted to have a 3D effect?
It’s just the next thing, a fad so to speak.  Gives the wall a design.    It will all get shot one wall color.  Our poor painter that has to caulk all of this

I can see blowing it in under stairs after the sheet rock is done.  Keep that noise from walking up stairs minimal.

Saw wall designs a few weeks back on the DIY stuff. Looked OK so must be a small fad now. Would break up a big bare wall though.

me either Nate. And I feel for those painters. apprenticing under my dad since I was 12 I did all the prep and finish work. I can run an 8' bead of caulk seamless in a corner but don't like to. I can only imagine how much I would hate doing all those 90*s

Today’s walk through showed my electrician missed lights next to the mirrors in mommas bathroom, drywall is now done.  I had focused attention to the height of a window and where the mirror would sit not the damn lights.

Last one is of my master ceiling

The garage was about half way done when I left this after noon.   Should have finished it up easy today. Tapers start this weekend if they act as they normally do

Should allow for a 42 inch fan to hide in the pocket nice enough, going to put some crown molding and maybe some venetian plaster on the lid.   Time will tell how surgery goes

I did something like that in our master, Dave.

Placed crown moulding near the bottom edge, then laid a rope light in the non visible gap. Makes for a great effect. We fire up the fireplace in the bedroom and throw on that light and the place takes on such a cozy feel, we just love it!

Love the height of the garage ceilings, but wouldn't look forward to climbing the stairs everyday.  Did that for 15 years.

That garage will need a lift. Sure we covered it, but it begs for it!

Tommy hit it on the head, those stair will be the for sure way people know dad is home as I stomp up them dragging my tires butt.

Definitely looking at a lift, their will be a mezzanine in the side above the shorter door.   That will o in shortly after the purchase and home inspections are complete.

It sure looks a lot smaller now it’s closed in.   Should have made the garage bigger!

I like your idea Sean, thats how I built the roof where the add on went.

Inspectors would see it for sure. Thats an easy fix when you work for a building company!

Building inspectors, don’t get me started. The first house wife and I built, final inspection was done from his front seat of his grand Cherokee at the end of my driveway, no joke.

I don’t want the pull through, the back wall will be work bench and cabinets

I have 18 feet of concrete on the side RV pad that I can pull through if need be. The extra door is one more I have to make sure is closed or locked, the man door will get bolted shut as it goes anyway.

Yeah I am thinking she’s in the back of the 20x25 size with a big door. Similar to dons out at the hide.

Are you going to heat and cool the garage area?
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Yes. Unless you are who is shoveling concrete. Lifting it and trowelling it stinks.

I do concrete often. Much easier. It's also easier to make it look "right" when done, imo.

Throw some water on the dirt after you clean up the construction mess, wait a few weeks, break out the mower and you have a yard. Best get the lift ordered up.

Tonight I ground down all of the joints in the foundation from the forms, made them nice and smooth, removed all the splatter from the flat work pour and didn’t have enough of a dust mask to save my soul.

No pictures today but tomorrow I will get photos of my doors all hung, window seals finished out, starting baseboard in the AM and shelves in all of the closets,

Momma is coming to work tomorrow to decide what shape she wants her closet to be.

Dave, my father in law ( also named Dave which I find ironic at the moment) has had several shoulder surgeries. He was too stubborn to let them heal properly and now is in constant pain. So the phrase of the day for you is

Don’t be a Dave, Dave!
