Ammo identification help please

Can somebody tell me what kind of ammo this is please?  The owner does not want to bust open the cans, and has memory problems and does not remember what they are.

My best guess would be old russian, 7.62 X 54

Sammconn:
It’ll either be 7.62 x 54 as chief has said or could be 7.62 x 39.

If I were to guess.

Yes the cans look like those, but there is no other identifying marks to indicate they are russian
