Thanks for sharing! Glad it wasn't so dang cold this week for you guys...

1902
Of course it was tongue in cheek...

It's also embarrassing that this is tolerated behavior by a large portion of our country. Saw a clip tonight, a lady had her Bakery store front destroyed. She scrimped and saved selling baked goods at flea markets to save up to be able to afford opening her own brick and mortar store. She's a black woman in Ferguson, and her store-front was destroyed by thugs protesting in the name of justice.

No justice in that, whatsoever.

1903
And all these people saying he was just an innocent kid....

Yeah, he was 18 yrs old, was 6'5" tall 289 lbs... and oh by the way, just robbed a convenience store.

Don't want to get into the details of the incident, as I haven't read all the released court docs yet, but the outcry over this perfect child being killed is nonsense. He was a thug, and a big one at that.

People saying "oh those facial injuries [on the officer] aren't even that bad, he didn't have to shoot him"..... ummmm you're missing the point, he (and all 290 lbs) assaulted a police officer, and that's the proof.

Anyway, I'm thinking about going and starting some local businesses on fire. Who's with me?  ???

Don't beat yourself up over having to call in reinforcements... there's a reason there are shops all over the place that only work on transmissions.

I read something this very morning about Mitch coming out and stating if the pres tries to legalize without the legislative process, then he will not confirm any of OB's appointees for the next 2 years. And, Boehner would refuse to fund any of this through congress. We the people still have representatives in a congress, and we spoke loud and clearly two weeks ago.

Ted Cruz said the same thing last night. That's their 2 step plan to "checking" executive power. First, not confirming appointees. And second, appropriations.

Good sights...have them on my 930

I wonder if Mag-pul makes that stock for the 930. With the automatic werkins' it is a whole different animal aft of the receiver than a 500 series...

Looks like as of now, just the 500/590, and the Rem 870...

Man, following this along makes me cringe that our trailer is stored outside (until Thanksgiving weekend, at which time i put it in my Grampa's shop)...

And really makes me want to get our new place under construction soon so i can start planning my own shop.

Great work, and sorry you have to deal with this! Thanks for sharing too, great lesson for all.

It was supposed to be a shining moment for proponents of the interfaith movement.

The Islamic “jummah,” or Friday call to prayer, would be held on America’s grandest Christian stage – the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

Interfaith movement... now there's a paradox if I've ever heard one!

They are real nice. I have no problem picking up the dots in any light, though I've only practiced in no/low light, not live shooting. Yes they're night sights, the tritium is actually made by Trijicon even though they're Ameriglo sights.

When funds allow, i'm going to convert both my Springfields over to the Heinie Straight Eight (2 dot) night sights as well. Unless Ameriglo puts out versions for the XD platform when i finally get to it.

My Sig 1911 and Sig P238 have Novak night sights, but they're safe queens so no use in monkeying with them  ;)

Here you go... Kinda blurry but this is as best I can do.

And just for fun, the rest of my carry pistols I rotate based on how deep I need to conceal etc. Glock 19 and Springfield XDs 45 in Crossbreed Supertucks, Ruger LCP in a Desantis pocket holster, and the Springfield XDm 45 in a Raven Concealment Phantom light compatible kydex OWB.

Edit: G19 looks a little more OD than FDE in this photo also if you can tell... In sunlight versus artificial light, even moreso

I know, it does... Bad lighting. It's the OD one though. Yeah, nice shooter. I'd shot my buddy's gen 3 before this and really liked the system. Hated the sights, so switched out to Ameriglo 2-dot. Will switch over my Springfields to the 2-dot as well. Predominantly XD platform before this, and have decided that I'll stay Springfield for 45 and run Glocks for 9mm. But I am a huge fan of this G19. Carries like a dream in my Crossbreed SuperTuck, just a dandy.

Just saw this today...

http://www.clickorlando.com/news/90yearold-florida-man-charged-for-feeding-homeless-again/29579226

Sad state of affairs. Here's an example though of somebody taking a stand against this nonsense.

A 90-year-old Florida man was cited for a second time for illegally feeding the homeless.

Arnold Abbott and his team of chefs set up shop Wednesday night on Fort Lauderdale Beach and dished out free food to the homeless. Uniformed police were also there recording the event.

But Abbott was ultimately confronted by cops in the middle of an interview with Local 6 sister station WPLG-TV.  Abbott was escorted away in front of a large crowd of his supporters. Instead of whisking the 90-year old to jail, police decided to just fingerprint Abbott and issue him a citation on the spot.

"It's our right to feed people, it's our First Amendment right and I believe in the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man, and we should be allowed to feed our fellow man," Abbott said.

But please keep in mind. I am nothing, really. Just a worthless sinner, just like them. I am not worthy of even representing our God, and his son.

We are all sinners. We all have demons, and battle them... Sometimes more successfully than others. I aspire to be a Real Man, and know I am inspired by Chief Real Man. That is meaningful, to me, and clearly a growing group of people here. You are not nothing.

Prov 27:17... It's in my sig for a reason. For me, it's why I'm here.

Around here you're probably right.

Inspiring though... truly. I guess the best way to do something in the immediate term is to send a couple shillings over to Big Don to help out. The world needs more of what I just saw in these pictures. Generosity, encouragement, and the knowledge of God's grace. Love it.

Just awesome... i'm speechless. So let me ask a couple questions, because this has sparked my interest. How do you organize these? Is it done through your church? Wondering how people know to come? Or do you go to where the homeless gather? Also, do you have to have permits and stuff to do this on this scale? Again, awesome work. God bless you, your friends/family who participated as well, and all the folks struggling whom you've been able to help.

Great post... Really makes me want to get up on top of ours and take a good look. It's a 2014, and nobody but me has been up there, but still probably good to have a nice look around. Crazy how fast things can get ruined with a little water isn't it...

Couple things I need to do anyway:

1) use the rubber gasket conditioner on the rubber seals around the slide surrounds.
2) lube the fittings on the retractable TV antenna. They say twice a year, and I believe it. never done it in the last year and i can tell it's getting harder to get up and down.
3) clean the pine needles/dirt out of the "gutters"

Another thing I noticed is my battery boxes filled up with water from road spray/condensation. So I drilled a couple small holes on the aft/bottom of the trays to ensure any water drains out.

Yes I have the for-end too. Basically I got this shotgun on a trade for some other stuff I was trying to get rid of, so dirt cheap basically. The furniture that was on it was awful. Beat up and cheapy, and I knew I was going to change it out. So I went with the Magpul, have tons of their mags, and have ran other products of theirs on my AR with happy results. I do have to say I love the shotgun furniture. Only downer is I can't run the heat shield with the Magpul foregrip... but it was a smidge tacticool anyhow.

As for the light, it's an Elzetta mount. It's the ZSM i think. Great mount, very sturdy. Light is nothing to speak of, it will get replaced soon with a Streamlight, or maybe one of the Elzetta lights.

Yeah i have it on my 590... it's in the pic on reply 4 on this thread. I like it, it's a heck of a lot better than the pistol grip and stock that were on it when i got it.

I have those same Merrell's in the low's, and can echo they are very comfortable and durable. I wear them on easy trail hikes/walks and while camping. Love em. Got my mom a pair too because she walks a lot, and she's been going strong on them for almost 2 years, and they've held up very well. She loves them as well.

Hey guys, one quick tip on jars.... since canning has become much less common nowadays, lots of people get rid of their jars. My folks normally find jars at Goodwill and the like for SUPER cheap... If you're serious about getting into canning, swing into Goodwill regularly and look for jars. Great way to save some coin.

Kid was upset he got rejected by a girl... so decided to shoot her, then plaster his own brains all over the cafeteria.

Just makes me furious, absolutely helplessly mad. 1) that this kind of thing happens and that the parents allow their children to become vicious monsters with total disregard for human life. And 2), that all the sheep then want to take it out on me and my rights when these atrocities occur.

All sorts of people now pushing harder for I-594 to pass, citing the need to "prevent sales of guns to criminals like this"........  Not that there's ANY legal means for a 15 year old to buy a handgun, but i digress.

Shoot both the 17 and the 19, see which one you like the feel of better. You can always throw the 17 mags into the 19, if your mitts like the feel of the 19 better.

That's a good idea Bob!

And that gives me an idea

Camper/trailer mod area...hmmm

A lot of us have them

and we use them on a regular basis, and we modify them for sure, so maybe we should post up all that as well.

If it develops, then it gets it's own section

Mornin' quoffee werkin in my pea sized brain!

I was actually searching high and low for a camper page when i first joined up... add one! I know you've got one, now we know Bob does, and that's probably one of the areas I could contribute the most. My wife and I spend a lot of time in our trailer.

There are others way more qualified than me here that can, and should, chime in... but i chose to have a light/laser combo (Streamlight TLR-4) on my bedside gun for a couple reasons. One, i wear glasses, and it's hard me to see my sights at night without them. I can pick up the laser in the light beam pretty easily without them, so if for some reason i couldn't get the ole spectacles on, i could be effective. So that's part of it. Also, if i'm going to be shining a light, may as well throw a red dot on target too.

I'm not of LEO or Military background, so take that feedback for what it is... just a regular ole dude's
