Well it was a busy week last week. Spent Thursday and Friday at jury duty, made it to the second round but didn't get picked for the jury. Was a first for our County, a double murder to outsiders by outsiders!  A Craigslist dope deal goes bad!  Then still fooling around with Insurance company and contractors Service is in but the electrical inspectors don't work on Fridays   so they are supposed to be out today then we can call power company to run new lines and get him some power, only been 9 days!!
Also still working inside the basement redoing the mortar on the rock foundation.

Well. Framing the dormer tool a lot longer than I thought.  45 degree angle meeting up with 71.5.

Front end light woes day.
So unlike many, I bought on the slow boat HID's in 2009 so the ballasts say.
Had my first failure this week.
About four years ago the 4300k low beams turned pink indicating they were on the way out.
Not sure if that's a failure or not, they didn't quit, but were pink.
Had a low go on the weekend.
Back story, back in 2009, this company only sold wholesale.
So I had to buy ten I believe lots.
So it was highs, lows, fogs, spare of each and spare ballasts sort of thing.
So eight years later I consider it a couple hundred well spent.

As well the daytime running lights were out.
Changed the OEM bulbs this summer for $59.99 each LED's with Don's luck.
Both dead in months. Junk. And they were 'best ones' they had...
Put in some long life sylvainia's and need to source LED's that work.

All tolled, all my lights are back on now.
'High' beam replacement in the low, but I can't tell a difference in town.
Maybe oncoming will, time will tell.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Well some times my "plan ahead" actually works. Who knew? I got a new hot tub last fall. When I installed it on the patio instead of putting it directly on the patio I built a platform and put lag bolts on the corners and put the hot tub on that  - the old one was directly on the patio (a paver based patio) and with all the water we have (I back directly up to a pond) the patio had settled a bit and trying to fix it was next to impossible. So I noticed the other day the tub was about an inch off from one side to the other (the water makes it easy to see! Even a dummy like me can see when it's off!). I needed to drain it anyway so drained it and decided I would level it. Talk about easy....hi-lift on the low corner....brought it up an inch or so, slid some PT 5/4 under the 4x4....lowered it....checked it with the level...its good...and started filling. From empty to re-filling maybe 10 minutes. I spent more time getting the jack and a piece of 5/4 out of the scrap pile than I did actually fixing it.

So I do get lucky some times! Of course now I just screwed up that karma prolly! Ha.

My first day of training on the combine went pretty good. The field was too wet so we are changing to another one. My boss is recovering from his stroke very well but his brains are still scrambled. He will be completely fine one minute then act all confused the next. He will ask off the wall questions that have nothing to do with anything we are doing. When he feels good you can't hold him back but then its like he hits a wall. The man has no patience at all. Its frustrating but we just take one day at a time.

Finally found a use for a thingy ma jigger that’s been hanging in my garage for years. Our Arborvitae Green Giants have grown rough that it’s hard to get between them and the fence. That little sucker works slick as a whistle.

Spent 2 days in the combine trying to figure out what the hell is banging when I turn around. I checked the wheels and the frame and under the head can't find anything. Turns out someone left a metal thermos in the fridge. Its been rolling around in there driving me crazy.

No pee hole but I do have Xm radio with blue tooth lol. GPS Auto steer just turn around and hit a button. Thanks to EPA the cost of a new combine jumped another 100k +.  All the extra emissions and DEF are expensave so of course they have pass that along to the customer.

I Spent the day at the hospital with my boss again. Yes stil healing up from his stroke. Lost movement in his left hand. Doc said its a pinched nerve from sleeping on it. We say bull pucky. He always sleeps on his back. We have to get a second opinion but now it's Saturday so have to wait till Monday. Didn't get back to farm till 6:30 so we ran late last night. Got home at 1:30am. Usually we are done when it gets dark because the dew comes out and gets the beans wet.

We won our playoff game last week by a big margin.

This afternoon is our superbowl...the only superbowl I will watch this year...

The boys are ready. They only lost a single game and have given away less than 10 touchdowns all season long. The team we face is the other football powerhouse in northern KY. I feel like I am about to witness the immovable force meeting the irresistible object.

Game didn't go very well at all

Good points:
Our uniforms were clean
We made it there on time
The cheerleaders were entertaining
We took home a runner up trophy

Bad points:
Apparently we forgot to show up on the field
Some alien body snatchers who knew nothing of football showed up instead
Nuff said, on to wrestling season!

I was thinking about sub contracting the roof out but I can't  get return calls so I may rent a tele handler and just work from the tele handler.  Sure would make 32 sheets of decking up on the roof a whole lot easier

Got the dock pulled out and back to the marina.
Was a bit of an adventure.
Winds not great, 15 gusting to 20 when we started.
By the end they were 25 gusting to a lot.
3-4 foot whitecaps washing the dock, kind of fun...
And the DNE (do not exceed) speed for my dock is 4.9 mph in 3 foot chop.

Cabin closed up till snow time. Speaking of which, it is again...
Boat going into storage tonight, mustang as well.
Need to service he truck, hope to find time before I leave.
Then off to the city for a week or so.
Mama having a procedure, so we need to hang there for a while after.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Spent most of the weekend shuffling kids and replacing the front toilet and doorknob. Some had removed the twist lock from the door and flushed a mouthwash cap in the old john. Was always getting plugged anyway (unlike the master which is the same) so I got a Kohler super flush for just $100 at Costco.
