out of the pot and into the fire....
« on: August 29, 2016, 09:08:45 AM »
Hey ya'll im a n00b here. My life is going to be absolutely insane the next few months. Please keep me in prayer for strength, guidance, wisdom, discernment, patience, kindness and the peace that passes all understanding.

im moving my family from the cooshy suburban life where i walk to work and have every amenity imaginable to man to the country on a farm that's quite a distance from all that in the name of self sustainability and frankly - something new. I know normalcy bias is alive and well, and there is time needed to adjust to a new lifestyle.

during this time, i got multiple massive software launches and a trip (planned a long time ago) to a locale owned by an evil corporation which i despise, but it will bless my daughter's heart.

I'm excited as hell and adapt/adjust fast, but my girls lean on me and need that pillar in their lives that is firm, consistent, decisive and gracious.

I'll need a double portion of that for a while.

Please keep me and this move in prayer. And also throw in a PS that the Lord somehow place an atv or a side by side on my property as i will need it  :D

I'll stand with you

Father, buttress this man and feed his need and show up in his life in real and meaningful ways

In the name of Jesus, Amen

Oh and your thread probably should have read:

Amen. And as much trial and tribulation as it may seem like, I feel like you're making the right choices for your family. God Bless

Ditto what the others have said here. You're heading in the right direction IMO. Kites don't fly WITH the wind, they fly AGAINST the wind. Good luck!

Best move I ever made for my family.  Keep on your knees (God answers knee mail) and everything will be fine.

this is basically a metaphor for my entire marriage, how we roll and how we raise our daughter. we "go against the goads". it ain't easy. especially in this world of utter conformity.

so got the fam moved to the new homestead. i am about as exhausted as i can possibly be. the move itself went smooth, it's all the extras that took the toll. i wound up having to hold steady on some remod's and focus on some other items, not to mention some unexpected.

the silver lining is I now know how to put up fence... blackland prairie style. It was 3 days of physical exhaustion, but in the end i am happy with it. The deck is next...

Glad to hear. Hard work is good for the soul....sometimes the body not so much..
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Sounds great and good luck. Being tired at the end of the day is good for the body and mind.

Men need tractors

Although I own them and have since the 1980's, don't get a Deere

Kioti, or Kubotas in and around the 50 HP range should do ya just fine.

I thing the hydro transmissions doubles their efficiency, I love that about mine!

my friend leaves his kubota at the property and it's quite easy to use I'll say. I test drove one of their UTV's and find it to be first rate, but the sticker price is pretty much a new car.

I'm going to start probably with an atv to get around and move up to a UTV as time/funds and priority allows.

I used a budy's kabota and it was solid as a rock. They are all around here.

Kubotas are slow
But solid performers
I've had a couple J Deeres, which were ok, but not worth the money in my view
I'm thinking my next one will be named after our first sub launched ballistic missile.

See if you can get a 2012 or older with low hours.  No emissions on them.  I got a 2012 L3800DT with 200 hours on it and I love that it doesnt have emission crap to deal with.
