Winterize | Blow Out Water from Sprinkler & Irrigation Systems | Winterize Hoses | Air Compressor Quick Connect 1/4" Adapter | Fits Garden Hose 3/4" Threading | Heavy Duty Air Fitting https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M9FHCWZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_bmpJFbVX74Z57

But seeing this style I think I’ll be ordering one.  The 90 ball valve makes opening so much easier then turning on a faucet five plus rotations

Dave, I also sprayed WD-40 into the system and flushed until I could smell it at the nozzles. Keeps everything nice n' slipperie durin' the freeze!

Hadn’t ever heard of that from anyone up here,  I wonder what the long term on the plastic screw together type joints is,  I used to use vasaline long ago on all of the joints and it dried them out and cracked the rubber seals

petroleum products and rubber don't get along. WD-40 is OK, silicone lubricant spray works well too. but kinda like fogging spray, just empty the whole can of WD and push it through the system with the air, worked great back when I had a yard to irrigate.

I’d be afraid of introducing anything except water to the valve diaphragms. K.I.S.S.

Dave, if you already have the blowout adapter, just use a hose shutoff between the faucet and the adapter.

One of the other things I didn’t Like is none of my fittings seemed to be air tight,  they don’t leak water but they definitely had some blow by for the air at 125psi.
Glue fittings would have stopped a lot of that but the new fangled screw together stuff doesn’t seem to like that high of PSI

This past weekend we had some pipe freeze issues in the bathroom that is built in an overhang of the home,  the tub technically sits outside the foundation.

Well the p trap froze and the tub wouldn’t drain after a kid shower.

Outside to pull soffit and investigate this is what I found

They had insulation but not enough and way to much air gap blocking the house side inbetween the joists.  The framing block wasn’t helping either.

So I pulled the block to find more insulation blocking more airflow from inside.

I then I used my camera to see what was insulated up the wall and shockingly I found much more air gaps with zero insulation

I suspect most of my exterior walls have large gaps in insulation due to shotty work from the subcontractor.

I called my friend who does insulation and asked him to look,

He sent a crew out to spray foam the whole outcrop of the house
Think it should work much better

I have long since stopped calling my home builder friend, I have small issues with my home that are in my opinion inexcusable, bathroom insulation being one of them.

The guy who came and fixed my insulation for my attic and this instance is one of those good contractors that I can trust.  He drove 40 min to come look at what I had after hours and jumped right on a solution.  He has offered to do my basement walls again when I want to it holes in the wall.  Which I don’t anytime soon

One of those items I was super skeptical about until my buddy forced me to try the one in his shop, I was sold instantly.

TOTO SW3074#01 WASHLET C2 Electronic Bidet Toilet Seat with PREMIST and EWATER+ Wand Cleaning, Elongated, Cotton White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08S4646QQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_ZFPF63C21DEV7H784NK8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

The downside is you need a power source next to the toilet, if you don’t have one I think you can get battery systems maybe?

Finally got an air compressor that will handle most of the household needs

Had a sparky friend come over today and take out the four prong washer dryer style plug for a standard three plug 220, hardwired the compressor.

Also had him add a plug to the cam lights under the mez so I can add the same style lights Charles added to his shop on switch power!

All the air and more light!

With power added to it, I replaced the old garden faucet with a 90 degree ball valve, added some fittings and extended the bottom tank drain valve

Next garage improvement is to work on a proper bench
I’ll build out 8’ sections till I reach the desired work area I’m after

Picked up the top plate for it for a great price $250 3/8 4’x 8’ plate
Gonna have a 30” top and I’ll weld in a back splash.
Not sure how I’ll add drawers to a metal frame yet but I’ll get the frame done
Slow progress on this one.

So trying to decide on what to do for adjustable table legs.  I have some 3/4 bolts 3” long.   I was thinking weld a nut to the back of the square I’m going to weld on the bottom of the legs. Then simply screw the bolt in. Do I need a second nut on the outside so I can lock the bolt in place?

Is 3/4 overkill ?

Any other ideas?
Amazon had stuff for 1/4” adjustable legs as a kit type of deal

If it stays in one place, just a drop of locktite will be fine.

I just priced 1/4in 48x48, same price you got the 4x8 for.

The ones we’ve built at work were 3/4 I think but may have been 1”.
Shorten two opposite corners. Weld a flat bottom and a nut.
1 1/2 is likely long enough unless your floor is way off.
Unless you’re super an and want to move a 1000 pound table around friction is enough.
Loctite way overkill.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

You folks think the bolt head is enough for a foot/contact pad or should I figure something for the bottom of the bolt? I don’t think rubber contact is needed.

Floor is pretty flat right and left. Front to back I put a decent floor slope in the grade to push water out as needed. But probably not more then 1/4” over the 30+” depth of the table

Depending on where you place the table, bolts on opposite corners would not work.

No pics?

I think the welder put a 3” or 4” disc of 1/4” as a foot.
Rubber not needed.

Skeleton of the bench welded in.

Going to frame out a small section on one side to slide a bank of wooden cabinets in so I can have some drawers.

Need to drill out my adjustable feet.   Drill press is down so the ol freaks hand drill maybe

Looks good Dave  :likebutton:

Possibly box it out on front side for the drawers and run a vertical to the floor up front to limit the length of span across front if possible.

I kind of want to leave the front open so I can roll my tool boxes under it, the mug welder will roll under it also.
I need to chose where to put the bank of drawers also, on the right side I will have to move my air compressor, the left side is open and or the middle.  But I wanted two rows of drawers!  Choices !

I guess I could run a center leg to the ground directly.  With out any problem.  Then add a horizontal from the back to hold it

Added a shelf so I can slip a box for 24” drawers inside. Keep it off the floor and all
Adjustable feet installed and seem to work well

Need to source a suitable vise for the bench, need to apply a finish coat of paint to the frame, also think I’ll trim my backsplash out for the outlet and bring the outlet to the splash or…. Do I raise the outlet ten inches in the wall?

Just like Don on cardboard!

Looking for a vise for my big table at the ridge. Have you thought about welding a reciever on the table so you can move it out of the way? I find on the 4x5 table I have on wheels it would be a blessing.

Jr is saying weld a hitch reciever to the table so that you can put it in and take it out when needed/not needed
