Basement

Foyer - from basement stairs

Living room

Kitchen

Mud room

Laundry

Office

Master

Master bath

Master shower

The baddest fridge in the history of fridges!

Mommas work station (in progress)

Office

Coffee service area (runs between master and office)

It's all still pretty dirty and we are about broke! But I'd say before long we will have a nice "little" pad to call home sweet home! Our vision has really come to life here. It's so exciting seeing all the pieces come together!

Coffee Induced Early Morning Rant / Re: Eotech issues

I sent mine back. Got refunded my purchase price plus tax in about 8 weeks. I didn't have any issues with it either but I felt after the memorandum was published and my current application, there could be a case for negligence and I didn't want to take that chance. Mine served me well so I won't knock the product. I equate it to an evolution thing...

In your situation jobwise that makes sense. What're you going to replace it with?

Probably an I-scope! ;)

No... I got an aimpointe micro

One of the greatest, often overlooked attributes to a full sized WML (not this one) is its ability to be used as a stand off device in ECQB. Mounted to the frame, the operator can press the weapon in to a bad guy and release fury and freedom vigorously until the threat has ceased. In like circumstances without a standoff device it's often necessary to hold the weapon in battery either via support hand or indexing the back of the slide against your body. In this event you have effectively induced a malfunction. So that single shot had better count for something!

All of this being said. Hopefully you wouldn't have introduced your firearm in to the ECQB environment. The above scenario would have prevented itself had you already produced the weapon and then were ambushed or attacked by a secondary aggressor whom you had not previously identified.

We always fight the fight we are in. I would more often recommend in most scenarios introduction of an edged weapon at at ECQB. Knives only have one handle.

In any fight a weapon should not be introduced until you are at the crossroads of tactical advantage and immediate-imminent threat. I present a lot of videos in training where officer/citizens are killed or seriously injured in their attempt to present a weapon before they have controlled the immediate and imminent threat.

I just DOT'd my own thread...

I have had my eye on these since they were debuted. It seems they are holding up to their surefire name so I popped on one today...

And of course I had to have my buddy make me a new rig

The light runs at 200 lumens momentary or constant on a single AAA battery. It really puts out a lot of light! Ergonomically it is easily operated with both your support thumb and index finger on the mid size model handguns. It weighs best to nothing and conceals perfectly as it is no wider than the slide. If anything it makes IWB concealment *more* comfortable due to the fact it spreads the pressure more evenly across a larger area of your body. MSRP is around 275 I think. I picked this one up on my good customer discount at $225! I'll follow up after first hand range experience.

Don't mind the carry lint... It keeps the dirt out!

I carry at home. I live in a great neighborhood outside of my jurisdiction but I would hazard you from ever establishing a mindset of it not being needed brother. I also want people to understand that in a lot of no gun zones, the worse they can do is ask you to leave. (Check your local ordinances)

I do not condone civil disobedience but I hope we all carry in a manner in which no one else is the wiser. My wife didn't even realize I always carried until we had been dating for a year!

Valid arguments HC, I try really hard not to be a target & "that" is the biggest take away I just received from your comment. Second being in practice with whatever setup you have. With that said things can happen as we all know & your comments were all directed towards the unknown what if scenarios. I for one appreciate them as it gets me thinking outside the box I live in. Last, I think if I were an officer such as yourself my carry habits would indeed change and more align with what you have stated. Currently my primary is carried only 25-30% of the time. I know it should be more but it's an honest assessment currently. With my secondary boot gun & knife carried 90-100%.

Curious as to your reservations for carrying your primary gun?

We all operate on systems of practice and the least variables you place within your systems, the least chances for a lapse in judgement or inability to quickly decide under stress.

For example, when I pour myself a bowl of lucky charms I sit and stare at the spoons for maybe a second processing whether I want my normal large spoon or the more reasonable standard sized spoon. I have to decide, first, will that spoon still fit in my mouth comfortably when heaped with gmo's and marshmallow goodness. Second, what will the perception of others be should they catch me with my large sized man spoon. And third, why am I even bothered by this, my cereal is getting soggy? So I fish my man spoon out and settle down for chow.

This process only takes a second like I said, but the disadvantage is, while I take that precious second more milk, seeps in to the yummy morsels and they begin to degrade and lack in crunch.

My gun on the other hand is always the same and it's right there on my hip ready to go when it gets a little huckleberry

If I disarm myself for any reason in the car, which is very rare. I can think of only a few places where I don't carry. I pull my holster, gun still inserted and put it all in my locking center console. It's a lot easier for me to remember I am unarmed when I don't have that holster as a stimulus pressing in to my hip.

There are too many occurrences where a guy could simply forget to grab his gun when you are just dismounting for a brief period as you would to check the mail box or pump fuel. So either A, the gun is in your unsecured vehicle just out of arms reach or B, you have conditioned yourself to routinely holster and unholster every time you are just out of reach of the weapon which is simply not practical and lends itself to the aforementioned issue. Heaven forbid you "forget" and reach for that empty gun bucket on your hip only to come out with a finger gun when you are presented with an immediate threat to your life.

One of the most dangerous events most concealed carriers will ever find themselves involved in is holstering their weapon. More of us shoot ourselves than get shot by degenerates. Granted the majority of holstering ND's are due to mistakes the shooter made when he purchased crappy equipment but nonetheless it's sad but true. When things become routine we get sloppy. One of the least routine things I do outside of a training environment is to re-holster my firearm. And when I do re-holster, I want to be able to own and control the safest spot possible to do so. I don't find a scenario where that would be safest while seated in the car. There are too many obstacles to hinder a safe concealment.

There are just too many variables to consider when you have multiple locations for your primary weapon. Even if that multiple is only two. IS it on my person or under my dash.

Lets say you have failed yourself. Mama ran into the post office real quick to pick up the tax refund and her door is unlocked. You are driving and some opportunistic mope has decided to capitalize on your lapse in judgment and hops in the passengers seat with a gun to your noggin and you are immediately in a position of tactical withdrawal. Are you willing to send him on his merry with your pickup and your firearm? That is just one scenario of many where a lapse in judgment could find you at a disadvantage and subsequently disarmed.

I have a few more scenarios, but have to put the girls down... be back shortly...

As far as the seat belt goes TRN, I disengage the seat belt stronghanded, draw on my way up and sweep the belt away with my support hand. That is the way I was taught, I teach and train to do every time.

4 tubs and three showers. We were going to go the doorless route in the master but I talked momma in to *at least* a glass door. We have a "service" area wet bar that runs between the master and the office. Within is a sink, mini fridge, cabinets, soon to be coffee maker... Etc... I wanted to mount a TV across from the toilet in the toilet closet but I was overruled. :(

No rush to decide or not. Its only a barrel when the time comes.

Could even do 9mm.

Can only do 300 or .556. If you will notice in the first pic, the stock and BCG work together. This BCG is for the .556 casing

I'm a bit miffed about the .300 thing
With the 7.62 X 39 everywhere...(Even on the darkside of the moon and also found on Mars!) why are we all go-go eyed over yet another short 7.62?
Im definitely not go-go eyed over it. I even kicked around the ruskie round but my PDW maintains a BCG that is integral to it's operation which only supports .556 or 300... so alas... here we are...

I and a buddy here use 300aac. Awesome round plus the use of almost all standard AR parts is a plus.

Designed around 1 9.5 barrel, 125gr is a great play round, 220 is subsonic. When I was working even the dept thought is was a great round.

Slightly more to reload than the 556 only because of the bullet, but doesn't need AR powder, some even use shotgun/handgun powder ( I haven't tried that)

Lots of industry support. I have built 2 so far.

The only issues I have with 300 are-
a- adding another caliber
b- lower magazine capacity (I plan to run the short 20 round mags
c- more expensive (I don't re-load believe it or not)
d- ammo confusion when SHTF because of all the 556 mags I have loaded already.

Everyone will be running 556 guns and 9mm glocks, you throw another caliber in, I cant pass a mag to them, they cant pass one to me...

Maybe I just answered my own question... :(

I think we will run 556.

I've been shooting the heck out of it. I really enjoy the RMR. I think I mentioned in the other thread I am waiting to establish my new residence before I apply for the suppressor. I'm still debating on triggers. I shot a SSVi LLC trigger a couple of days ago and enjoyed it thoroughly. But I shoot it fine with the stock trigger and it hasn't broke yet... So why mess with it, other than maybe a little polishing

This is the place holder for my PDW build thread-
First off I had NO intentions of building another rifle until I stumbled upon one of these

For a steal on Armslist... So the PDW build is a go!
(Disclaimer here- this is just a pile of parts until the appropriate stamps are in hand)
I'm new to the SBR world so I want to first start off with some questions-
This is for all intents and purposes a low profile semi concealable defensive apparatus. It is my intent to stick with 556 but I could be convinced to go 300BLK. I want a 7" barrel upper and suppressor. Let's hear the pros and cons of each caliber from the aforementioned set up??

That is a very hard question and I also wonder a lot of the time. On the other hand God took your son in his hands and gave him a second chance to live a good life with family, friends and everyone else. Lots of things happen each day both good and bad. We just have to believe and accept...

Hard to trust and believe in that... Why aren't these "faith healers" waiting at the end of the wheel chair ramps of every children's hospital in the nation offering their services to kids so weak they have to be carried to the car? (I'm really asking) The realist in me calls BS on that. I believe God works through gifted hands, but not in that manner.
