Nice.  How many to go?
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Sam, sounds like the pump. You can try taking the valve out of the back and cleaning it.
Congrats Blaine and son!

I'll check that Ken.
Just added post to the power steering leak thread.

That valve is the one where the pressure line attaches inboard correct?
Sounds like a mess...lol.

Nah, just routine spring weather...
What's nuts, is the fact the ice will still be good on May long to go to the cabin.
30-36" of good ice still this weekend...
The problem is, it's so good the snow melt has no where to go, and has made 6-8" of slush on top of it.

In the processes of trying to locate a clogged washing machine drain. All I know is that this drain does not run into the septic tank. It has its own line on a different side of the house, into what I'm assuming is a dry well. So I am wondering, should I cut the line here at the elbow and keep going with the shovel or go rent a mini-ex and replace the whole thing? I have no idea how long or where the line goes from this point. I'm leaning towards the mini.

Can you just get a power snake and try to clear the clog?  I am a little confused on what your plan a was?  Why are you cutting the line if you continue with the shovel?  If you are going to dig it all up I would rent something and replace.

I guess I left that part out. An acquaintance came out with a snake and didn't have any luck. My neighbor, who's house was built around the same time as mine said his line was full of calcium. Said it was set up like concrete. I am working on the assumption that I am facing a similar situation.

If that is the case I would be renting something to dig it up and replace it.  Maybe try cutting it there and see what it looks like.

Yessir. When you unscrew the large fitting (1" wrench) it should be spring loaded....valve comes out first, spring underneath. If there's no spring tension when you unscrew the fitting, the valve is stuck (although just unscrewing it will usually unstick it...doesn't take much movement.

In the processes of trying to locate a clogged washing machine drain.

Is the drain not letting water leave or just moving slow? I know CLR works, as I've cleaned shower heads and etc that had calcium buildup on them.

Its not uncommon for people to discharge grey water away from the septic to keep the volume down.  Legality is suspect in certain jurisdictions, but if you know where the line ends, it may just be easier to replace as that looks like a 2 inch pipe?

Being in the county I'm not required to run grey water through the septic and would like to keep them separated if possible. I'm going to give a plumber buddy a shot at it before I start renting digging equipment. I switched gears after that and started working on the Polaris again. Tested a bunch of wires for conductivity and made no progress. Still chasing the problem where it floods one cylinder.

Over the weekend I welded up and painted this overhead shelf support bracket. Paint finally dried so I got it put up after work. I'm going to store my longish lengths of lumber on this shelf.

The garage door track angle wasn't up to the task when I had that weight on there... had to support it from below with a 2x4.

Once everything was attached I cut off the excess angle iron and will round off the corners to save my knuckles.

Brought mom home from the rehab, spent most of the day getting things in order.

Took oldest to Scouts, then back to moms to get her meds up to date (LOTS)

Did take wife unit out for mothers day. Bought both "moms" dipped strawberries.

Moving stuff around as the termite guy will be here in the AM.

Found 4 good trails of termite into the house, a vent ripped off the side and signs of a racoon nest. Found a torn HVAC tube behind the vent, coon at work!

Moving things back into their spots, boarded up the vent.

New battery for moms car (now its dead!), met with in home care. Ways to go there.

Ditto the flag comments tate. Very nice.

So spent today taking windows out of Mom's house. First floor have 10 that need dipping and rebuild (the house is 250 years old so trying to preserve the "ripply" glass). The guy we hired to do it showed up....started and said "this is really hard" and quit. So I got to do 8 of the 10. Yeah it's hard....250 years of paint and caulking doesn't make for an easy remove (especially when you're trying to preserve them!). I'm a dead a** dog right now. Hopefully the "new" guy my sister talked to at 5 today can do the 4 upstairs or I get to go back tomorrow for 4 more. Sheesh.

Used the tractor and tiller to till the garden and more then double it in size at the same time.  It had gotten over run with weeds and crab grass last year as we were both a little busy and weren't able to keep up with it.

Rescue Randy fooled around and got himself into a sketchy spot about half way up this stack so three of us had to help him down. Didn't get a chance to take pictures of the rigging but it consisted of a class 3 harness, Reeve Sleeve, high point anchor, and safety line using prusiks. Lowered him with a MPD. A little hot, but good training and a lot of fun.

Pretty tight area to work in.

The hole we lowered him through. Hard to make out but those guys are tied off to their own safety.

Looking up.

Hope the eye is better TRN! Sounds no fun. I had an eye injury once and it really sucked for about 4 days.

longball that gives me the heebie jeebies. No thanks! Glad you got the training but heights AND tight spaces? No fun.

As many times as I deserved to get hit in eye for not wearing eyepro, this is illness not injury.

uveitis, is the DX and the Rx is steroid drops.  check again in two weeks.
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

I promised my wife I wouldn't buy any more chickens. These are not chickens and I didn't buy them. My daughters class hatched them and she gave them to me.

We did that ONCE, then they swam in the bathtub. Dirty is not the word but they were happy.

First day back at work after an eye problem.  Still hurting and suffering from a headache because of it.  However, I just had my spirits lifted.  Found this on line and plan to order as soon as they are back in stock..

Let's see.

I painted the complete upstairs of my home, walls and trim.

We packed and prepped for a photo shoot for the home sale,

Drug the big trailer home to load all the stuff into. Move the stinky neighbors car so that the truck and trailer fit in front of the home

Now waiting on the photo guy

Worked from 0000-0916. Soon I will be running some errands then relaxing, no sleep until later. As an added bonus, I'm working with no coffee.

That requires a special counsel investigation!
