I went for coffee with the wife unit this morning and then ran some odd errands. Came home for lunch, emptied some boxes and broke them down for recycling. Been in my chair watching American pickers on Hulu all afternoon. Least I’ve done in one day for weeks!
Yeah Bob, he even watched while drinking a beer!
Best thing I did was to run non ethanol gas in the small engines and boats. Not a lot of maintenance costs, oil change on the four strokes and new plugs is about it.
Jon, sounds like a horrible day. I wish you and your family a great tomorrow.Charles, they still have the multi-purpose set-up. Not sure if it's been updated/changed like everything else. I was not impressed with the way this new one revs up, but after some time on google I have since learned that they are 4 stroke engines now, that still take a 2 stroke mix. Well, it's probably good and broke in now after I tached it out about 50 times. (just sounds super weird...I thought it was running lean).Shawn, yes it's a total pain. Most of my stuff usually gets used frequently, by me or someone else. Seafoam (I found issues w/stabil and hot summers), high test, and synthetic oil helps. Truth is, the fuel is just horrible now days. Varnish in 3 months...never happened 20 years ago.
The bad thing shawn, is if stations do not want to participate or the folks that run them are not tech savy.....you wont get correct info
Nice addition Ken, have any of you guys with lots of equipment ever calculated just the maintenance costs per year on all those motors etc? After having a lot of that and now having relatively non I'm torn if I ever go back to all of that. Probably not here in Colorado either way so it will be a few years if I ever do...….
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb. I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.
Everything at my house except automobiles gets 89 octane ethanol free gas. Everything that’s not used regularly gets started and ran to operating temperature about once a month if it’s not being used regularly. No troubles thus far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I need to keep up on that better. Just ran my big gen and was a bare to get going. Does the marine additive help with the ethanol?

Aww man! I’m so jelly. I’ve been eyeballing that for years. They used to make a combination piece that would attach to the straight shaft trimmer but I think they got wise and realized they’d make more by making people by a whole new machine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
