Forget the X cable, my wife sent over more of her junk. That loft ain’t going anywhere unless it takes a direct hit by an F5 tornado (shop is in weld county Colorado so it could happen). Sorry forgot to snap a pic...

JR, honest answer on website is I’m not sure. Making progress but I’m the hold up and it’s down the list on priorities at the moment. If you need something specific PM or call, I’ll get you pics and pricing if I have something suitable. Best I can do at moment, my apologies.

Moved more of the wife’s stuff to shop loft. Then moved stuff from last weekend in the shallow bay to the loft (nothing like moving stuff 3x!). Baylee helped, other two were MIA. Then ran to HD, shelving units arrived 10k, 2500 per shelf. Bought three at $200 each and free shipping. Wanted ones in NT but their shipping is obscene to Hippyland. Set first one up today as a 3 shelf unit, 4th shelf is going to be positioned as a work station between two racks. Each shelf unit comes with one solid shelf & 3 wire racks. Solid top is leaned up against wall to left or rack.

Shawn,
If you want just use the Real Man website here to post your products. I don't care, and hey, let me ask the owner...OK, he said it's OK, so if you want to we could build you a section so that JR could find the parts he is looking for

Costco usually has shelves like that, too, and they aren’t bright yellow... might save a few $ on the brand name, but judging from your previous pics you like those yellow tools ;)

I had checked Costco & HD both, neither had shelves locally that were rated at 2500# per shelf. My steel parts weigh up quick.

I found these online and had HD ship them in for free from Cali. The gladiator units were also an option but the lead time was quite a bit longer and price wasn’t any better. The solid single shelf for me to use as a work bench between two units was another selling point.

I like dewalt though on tools as you mentioned. Worth noting other than these shelves and my cordless units both big saws were either bought used or clearance for new models. My cordless I received a large rebate to trade old units in.

Of course now I look and can’t find the shelves of which I speak in the Costco app...

I like my dewalt mitre and table saws, but I like my Makita drills.

I got mine from Northern. On sale and with a coupon I paid $125 per.  Rated the same but no solid shelf.  Just the wire.  Of course right after I bought them they raised their normal price from 179 to 199

Charles, NT has store locations in Texas. None in Colorado though & shipping truck freight on three of them was an additional $400.......

Funny, I asked about your level because I thought it was another DeWalt tool I needed to buy. ...kinda became obsessed.. should probably start a new tool thread to show off all of the yellow..

Not sure, level I know isn’t dewalt but that case might be....

We stopped by local farm store today (Jax) after church for paint supplies and they have HUGE dewalt tool selection. I was definitely eyeballing a couple more. I am going to have two garages now so I have a valid need!

Not I, heck I’m not competent enough to build something that would need that prescision. Thinking my level is an older 48” Johnson wood unit.

You would be shocked at how often that level saves time.   Guys searching around for a 16 foot straight board to put a level on.  An just grab that and extend it to the top of the wall.

I installed 3 doors Friday night with a 3 foot level, then I remembered loaning my brother a 6' and 7'.... they were in his garage a few steps away from where I was working. The next 5 doors went much quicker. Smh

Couple hours today on loft, got almost all of the floor laid and the posts at bottom of steps added. Need to pick up a chunk of engineered beam & some ijoists drops to finish framing around stairs completely.

Then I’m down to assembling on last rack but not sure where it will go.

Dave, she already commandeered the whole mezzanine. Why would she need a rack? A rack indicates permanence & that ain’t a happening....

I think you are as hosed as I am, wife is trying to put her Christmas decorations in the crawl space in my garage.  I told her she would have to fund$ her own loft and I would build it.  Anything else inside that house was her choice and if she missed it it’s her loss.   I got laughed at.

My wife puts things in the garage literally. Just throws it out there and put it away. Then they complain they can't get to thing when I throw it in the little garage.

I wish drinking did help, but it feels good.

A thought although it is too late

You created steps with a comfortable rise, right?

Your wife is short, right?

Create the staircase with a 12" rise per step and:

1. She will avoid the mezzanine

2. You will get a good leg workout during a routine days messin' about in the G-Shop

So first time in several days (wife’s surgery) was able to get to shop and spend a few hours finishing up the mezzanine. Forgot to snap a couple pics but it is complete. I left off the two 45 degree braces at the back posts. After I put the stairs in and finished floor it was pretty darn rigid. So I’m going to hold off. All in all I calculated pretty good, only thing I ended up extra was a 2x10 & almost 3 full sheets of 3/4 plywood. I’ll most likely use it to make shelves and maybe a workbench top if I need one. Going to move some furniture upstairs tomorrow and clean up my mess. Then start moving equipment. I close on the shop officially weds so then I need to start wiring stuff.

So I did speak with Ken when I was researching this for the record. Figured he knew something about them and he did. Wanted to be able to lift a crew cab 4x and he stated that he had no issue lifting them on his lift (fully loaded service trucks etc). So I stayed at 10k lift capacity (saved a little coin). Then looked at rotary, a German unit (can’t recall name) and BendPak. BendPak was one company that made full length uprights (not bolt together). In fact I ran across a piece of marketing material that compared BendPak side by side with Rotary. In the end the BendPak just seemed like a heavier built unit. In fact the shipping weight is several hundred pounds more in fact.

The lift companies recommend 4" of slab to be GTG. Not sure I agree, but that's what I was told.
I made my slab 16" across the middle just in case.

Wow!

Ken, I used to pour concrete on State & Fed funded jobs. Sewer & water treatment plant construction mostly. The only time we ever poured that thick was on huge holding tanks. You could have just upped the bag mix and saved yourself some coin.

However, I can understand with H around and trying to get her loaded why you might have concern....

the one I linked had the air lifts running down the center.

so I understand that a 2 post lift "CAN" lift up to 10k.  but for me, I just truly don't feel safe standing under something like my truck weighing 8500lbs while it is sitting on a teeter-totter.  I have personally witnessed several trucks falling off 2 post lifts, not only from human error but also the lack of safety engineering put into a 2 post lift design.

but on the flip side, if "1" person and "1" person only who knows how to put bigger vehicles on a 2 post lift is the only one doing it and doing it safely then there should be no Darwinism/blonde/fark me how did that happen/trips to the ER/etc moments.
If you need the promise of eternity in the kingdom of heaven to be a good person … You were never a good person in the first place!
