Anyone ever build a glock from an 80% lower?

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

I'm guessing you have to mill out the trigger slot...

I think it's only a matter of time before the ATF shuts down this little cottage industry.

Maybe I'll call them & inquire, for all the cool mods you want to do to a glock anyhow this kinda makes sense in that regards.....

Nope we are pretty safe with 80% for a while, if they go after this then they have to change the GCA of 68 and this will open up a whole  cans of worms.

Well that's good news. But they theoretically could revise what they consider to be a non-firearm, and say, make you do more than what would make the process of completing it realistic, couldn't they?

I mean some of these are dang near complete

Typically from what I've personally viewed 80% is usually less than 80% complete.....

For most of the GP(general population) even the 80% might as well be a piece of raw bar stock.

What is making this so attractive to the masses  now is the jig kits they sell to complete the process, even someone with a very limited IQ can complete a receiver now, there are 1911 jigs out there and you don't even need power tools you just need a vise.  That and like it or not Harbor Freight has brought inexpensive tools to the masses.

What the ATF has done lately is define what a manufacture is, IE if you own a mill/CNC and you let anyone other than yourself finish a 80% on your machine then in the eyes of the ATF you are a manufacture of firearms and if they catch you making un-serialized receivers then you will have a lot of legal issues to deal with.  Look at what Ghost gunner has done and when 3d printing becomes cheaper and cheaper you will see lowers being 100% printed.  Also before they changed the rule people were buying 80% lowers and certain gunsmiths would finish them into working guns.

Its a very hard thing to do unless you say every piece of raw stock is a firearm, even then there are ways around that.  In the complete your own firearm the "Ship has sailed"  from trying to stop it,  they cant prove when you made the receiver.
