How was the smoke over there Kyle? Last time I was camping at Chelan was 2003 when they had that huge fire come down through Stehekin. It made the sun blood red and rained down snowy ash everywhere in the city park campground.

It was really bad when we first got there. Couldn't even see across the lake it was so smokey. Ash falling from the sky, the whole 9. But it got progressively better and within a couple days we were enjoying the sun and water without too much smoke.

too bad the smoke interrupted what was a very beautiful weekend. The family and I floated down the Wenatchee on innertubes for about 5 hrs that Friday, even the dog got a tube. Great adventure, and the first tow after the stack cleaning. Everything was great out in Leavenworth minus the back pain from lifting a panicky 90lb black lab onto his tube from the shore. He eventually got the hang of it and was chasing trout and carp the whole time.

That sounds awesome... glad you had a great time!

I need to do a good stack cleaning also... but i kind of want to do the belt, idler pulleys, and tensioner at the same time since they're a pain with the fan shroud in the way... waiting on funds and time! Luckily no more eastside trips for us this year, so it can probably wait until next spring in truth.

One of my favorite pics. 07 classic Duramax. Where I am now in front and where I would like to be someday in the back. Taken at Double J campground in Springfield Ill. Last week in July last summer.

Drove out to Bend, Oregon last Wednesday afternoon to courier some parts to my father-in-law who had to work all last week. The overnight shipment via UPS never made it, so I picked up a duplicate order and drove it out personally. Gotta say... LOVE the tires on this truck. Cooper Discover AT3. Roads were pretty snowy/icy and never did I feel like I was going to lose control.

Found a parking lot on the way out of town and had took some obligatory snow pictures :)

The CTS2 was just a little off on the MPG on the way home... (actual was 18.6MPG for the tank - hand calculated via Fuelly app)

Got home just in time on Thursday to shower and hop back in the truck to drive another hour to my parents for dinner.

Took it down to the self-serve carwash on Friday to hit the fenders with the power sprayer and then ran it through the actual carwash. It needed it. BAD.  I need to get some mudflaps... Santa?? I've been a good boy ;)

Couldn't find any but I'm sure the wife has some. just a canvas covered tube that one would normally sit inside of, but flipped over and the dog sits up on top of it. worked pretty well, but I had to hoist him out so many times my back was killing me by the end.

Nice truck! And jealous of the CTS2  :'(

Thank ya much! Looks a lot better when its clean, though! :)

CTS2 was my splurge for the year. Bought it when they first came out and was able to sell my old CTS to offset the cost. Only cost me $100 to upgrade that way.

Talked myself out of new rims/tires today. The finish on the rims is peeling pretty bad, and one has a pinhole leak (i believe) at the bead -- Discount has already re-seat the tire once. Plus, the 16" rim just looks small so I want to go up to an 18". Good deals for Cyber Monday, but $1400 for tires and wheels when the current tires still have 13/32's left is a hard one to swallow. Even if I could sell these for $400-500, plus the $300 in rebates we'd still be talking $600-700. Decided its best to just wait and maybe do it next year.

Could keep the AT3s on the stockers as your winter set! It's not to late... You've been a good boy this year haha

I thought about doing the same to upgrade to the CTS2... But with the house and all, the truck is second fiddle in the money spent dept

I thought about that too but then I'd be out the full $1400 and I'd have to store the second set. So yeah, no go right now.

I'll play

My old bosses power choke died and he called me to pull his monster boat to the lake.  28.9 feet largest boat on the road with out having to pull into weigh stations.   My truck barely made it out of the boat ramp with it.  Inched her out and let the water drain.
2003 LT 6.0 motor.  Avg mpg was 12 no matter what I was pulling or cruising

This is the first day I owned my truck.  My brother in law said the road we were on was a "road" it turned out to be a slick rock trail so narrow I couldn't turn around on.  I ended up scaling a rock ledge 3 feet tall.  Truck survived.  I sold the 20's and  now she has a grandpa package that I love

That's a load behind a 6.0. Boat had to be between 10-12k lbs eh?

I am not positive of the weight but I didn't like it at all.   I only had a short pull from the boat shed to the boat ramp.    He wanted me to pull it home from flaming George to Ogden.   Evanston Wyoming has what we call the three sisters on I-80 and they are some pretty awesome climbs and descents.    Semi trucks crawl up these long pulls. Loaded trucks maybe fifty with a good run.  Empty civic your down shifting into third gear.

I didn't tow much with the red Chevy so I didn't have a trailer brake.  I drew the line and said no thanks wait thill your junk ford is fixed.

i know that exact area, i have driven it many times.  the grade of it is not really the bad part as is the narrowness of the 2 lanes.  pretty scenery thru there.

I'm callin' him out!
First pic is photo shopped
It's obvious
The man lives no closer than 1500 miles from water
He has two baby boys which take 26 hours a day care and feeding
So he would have no boat time
Ever
It's faked!

And don't be sayin' that pond there is deep enough for anything other than a canoe either!
Years ago we crashed a Blackhawk out in that lake somewhere
and know what?
Half of it was stickin' up out of the salty brine!
Stayed there for awhile
Before the lake dissolved it, EEKS!

Just finished the trans cooler lines. DRP product from alligator performance. Gave her a bath since I dumped almost 10 gallons of coolant and some trans fluid here and there. Found a bulging battery covered in blue fur on the pass side last night.... Installing now as we speak.[/img]

You know I did the Alligator lines and not real happy about them.

Oh they fit just fine and are 1/2 inch hose. But the fittings are only 3/8s, hense the lines are still 3/8s, but they don't leak.

I thought the same, either way my intention was to stop the seep that GM has acknowledged as a problem but will have no part in making right.... And it's even more strange "working" for them and listening to all the jibber jabber about safety being #1 but once you're out of the new car warranty it's like pulling teeth to get goodwill from them.. Anyways I'm happy because I won't have a small pink puddle in my driveway every other week and all over the suspension

Mine were just wet, but figured better flow would be nice. Well I stopped the leak anyway,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I also have the dreaded pump rub with fluid all over. Did the JB fix and its holding fine, loosing no oil.

Thanks... the nice one's are my wife's. I drive the old ugly stuff LoL  Her new power wagon is sitting at the dealer awaiting a new rear axle. She broke something in the locker trying to drag my 91.5 out of the field last week.

Naturally we had planned a road trip next week and we won't have her new truck for it. I might have to clean the tree's growing on the dash of my 91.5 out and take that.

Everything else we own I refuse to drive in the salt we will encounter if we go to Wisconsin.

No snow up here, so no salt. It was 54 yesterday, supposed to be around 57 on Sunday, according to the local weather guesser.

Out here in Knee-Braska its been in the upper 50's as well. But this weekend starting latter today (Sat) rain turning to ice turning to snow by sun/mon. My guess by Wed/Thursday if we head to Wisconsin we will drive in snow the entire way....because that's how our luck rolls. Our weather usually hits Wis about three days after here it seems LoL

What ever they call it we need rain. Al they do is rely on snow pack and the state has twice the people it was designed for.
