so ken was talking about what his shop was made out of and I found it really funny, because I actually built a complete motorpool and motor bay for my mechanics when I was in IRAQ in 05-06. here are the pics for proof, unfortunately I cant find the ones that show it completely finished. when it was finished, the entire structure stood on its own with benches and counters along both sides a wood floor and actually withstood many nasty storms.

What are those floor panels made out of? The modern version of Marstons?
..oh, and I don't keep an automatic rifle against the doorway. lol

Those "Floor panels" are aircraft 463L load pallets!
(Pronounced: four-six-three-L)
As in for loads being transported in aircraft!
Fit the cargo floor in my Chinook, in C-130's, C-17's, C-5's and the like.
Nate using those as flooring is life using a F-16 as a battering ram!

Those are nice plates. Better than being in the sand.

so yes don is correct on the name of those pallets. those pallets mainly belong to the US Air Force and they were given to us to use because they were un-servicable and could not be used on any aircraft.
we initially used those as flooring to get Soldiers up and out of the dirt and as a solid base to use for jacking up the vehicles. we did not use those very long, because they were already pretty torn up and the aluminium conducted heat way too well.
those were replaced with 12' x 12' wood flooring sections that consisted of 2"X12"x12' sections that were all notched together and then sandwiched together with 2 layers of 3/4 inch plywood on each side. they were so heavy that i had to use an ATLAS 10K telescoping forklift to get them moved into place.

Holy moly. They looked a lot lighter than that.
