Erie Co to Dayton Illinois and back 14 hours each way. To trailer utopia aka Elkhart IN is another 4 - 5 hours on that trip. Pretty sure this is longest straight run solo I’ve completed without some real rest involved.

Speaking of which...Yesterday, I pulled my military plates off my Chevy truck and purchased farm plates. I am now approved by KY to a MGWT of 38,000!!!!!!!
We have the strangest of systems. If you register as a farm, it basically means do any darned thing you want in the name of agriculture. Two plates available, 26,000, and 38,000 for a couple of bucks more.

So, now I can pull my CTL Kubota all day and night (Inside KY) with my 2500 Silverado. Although obviously exceeding the manufacturer's limit, KY and no one else actually cares. Why didn't I think of this a long time ago??????

No, not that

Local farmer told me NOT TO EVER use the ag-diesel. $15k fine if you're caught

At the local high school where we have a fair number of farmer kids, they all run red diesel in their hot-rod diesel trucks

But, thinking about it logically, having the farm plates, it would seem, would invite a tank-dip inspection. I mean, the farmers are the ones who have the stuff, right?

A coworker of mine has a flat bed setup.  He moved his fill hose to the gooseneck hatch, he then took a piece of hose from the OG filler and capped the end above the tank. He fillled that with green and left it, the real fuel hose is hidden and tank full of red diesel.  He figured they can dip almost four feet into his OG filler and test the green. Not knowing his real tank is red

Crafty of course for his purpose but I suppose it would work.

You don’t have much of a way to hide yours I assume

I do hear of people being checked on occasion around here.

It's geographically convinient

Where I live is the very southern tip of what you may consider somewhat urban...Not really, but it touches big towns. But just south of us and all around is the lunar landscape of farms and rural places.

My theory is that the officers who do these checks are based up in and around the built-up areas, and with just a short drive can touch the edges of the rural wilderness without risk of being tarred and feathered or thrown down some bottomless mineshaft in the hinterlands. Go a bit south and you can drive around with a dead body tied across your hood and all you'll get is a complaint of the acrid smell after a week. South of me, most people really do own backhoes, and for those who don't they probably have a sinkhole on their property.

11 years ago today was the day that we had the dreadful knock on the door and got notified that Bret was killed in action. Over the years it we have good years and bad. This has been a good remembrance of Brett. We met some of the guys from his unit at his grave shared stories and a few beers. Even went to dinner with the young man Brett saved a week before he was killed. God is good, He will carry you when you can't walk another step. He surely blessed us today with his presence and the fellowship of brave men that called Brett there brother.

Ok boys, the wife’s smoker showed up yesterday. Did a dock pickup from SE freight.

Recteq does not sell in any stores and the direct to consumer allows them to have a much better product at a good price point.

The amount of stainless in this one compared to my original RT700 is impressive.

I got the RT590 to have a more manageable size since there are only three of us at home now and in 2 years the youngest will be off to college.

However this grill doesnt come with a stack, it comes with louvers in the back. I like a lot of smoke on my cook so I decided to cover the louvers and add a stack to the side and to add a nomes gasket to the lid.

By blocking the louvers up high and adding the stack with the opening down at the grate level it forces the chamber to fill with smoke completely before it can vent.

Stainless stack from amazon, stainless hardware and self adhesive nomex gasket also from amazon.

I used fire block sealant from 3M to seal the metal to the body and to seal the stack.

The other difference i noted is the heat diffuser on this one is cast iron, which I guess distributes the heat more evenly?  The entire cooking chamber and drip tray is stainless as is the burn pot with a 100,000 cycle ceramic igniter.

The controller is very nice PID with wifi and 2 meat probes. You can download the app and turn the unit on and manage the heat and graph the temps all from your phone.

I think that these men's only commitment great tha  the co.mitment to this country is to each other. They all made promises to each other in Afghanistan that if something happened look after "fill in the blank" . Brett's was his little sister Krysten. Unless deployed some place they always show up for Brett's 5K, veterans day stuff at her school. Even after 11 years they still look after her or any time she ask. Krysten boyfriend who has been with her for almost 2 year came the other day and 4 of Brett's brother took him aside and asked his intentions. Later they came and ask Tammy and I about him. We had a good laugh driving home about. Love these men wish we had more like them in this country.

Got this Pecron 1500watt unit for use at the Ridge and where ever. Great reviews, Lifo batteries and about 2/3 the others prices. Charging uses adpaters or a seperate power supply, but it come with them all. 3 AC outlets, 4 usb and a nice display for under 25lbs.

We came over via Bonners Ferry, it’s the kootenai River near Troy, MT (yes flows thru Libby too). Property we’re looking at is ten minutes from Troy and these falls.

Installed e-track in the enclosed trailer today. Thought it might come in handy hauling motorcycles or even a pallet of axles.

Iv seen guys put down that “coin” rubber mat in between the E track so the  floor is more level.  It would also help for clean out if epoxy floor wasn’t your plan

Turner / Dave, I haven’t actually decided what I’ll do to floor long term. I did stop by HF this morning and bought 3 - 12” pieces of horizontal I added to the floor in strategic locations and then 4 - 60” verticals so two on each long wall. It’s definitely a great upgrade, I hauled the wrf450 and several pieces of furniture this afternoon w/o issue.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

He'll probably use driveway pavers, herringbone pattern, if how he built his vice stand is any clue.

I understand your point of view, if I were hauling H around we would definitely need to reinforce some things. Thankfully she is all yours buddy!

Put an offer down on a piece of property in Troy, MT this morning. Wife accepted a job in Libby, MT last evening. Been moving personal stuff to storage all day. Tomorrow is last day to move a few things then clean the house. We close on sale of home Monday. Fifth wheel living for us for at least a couple weeks.

We’ve prayed profusely over this whole deal. We’ve left it in Gods hands to open doors and although it has been stressful at times he’s in control and everything is lining up.
