I know this has been covered a multitude of times on other sites, but since we don't have a write up yet I thought I would include some pictures.
2002 GMC Sierra 2500HD
New OE style mirrors were purchased on Amazon for $160, power and heated but no turn signals, came with the right plug already installed!

Those look great man! Nice work
-
Nice job! Pics are all good too.i didn't realize the mirrors could be interchanged like that, but thinking about it now makes perfect sense. I was not a fan of these ones at first but couldn't be without them now.
-
Thanks for the write-up
I think this is going to be useful to lots of people.
Wonder if Bob would like it down in the trailer/towing section??
-
did those come already leveled or did you use the washer trick to level them?
-
Good job. They do look pretty level for that style. Like Nate asked, were they made that way?
-
The pictures make them look fairly level and I will probably just leave them, but in reality they are not perfectly level. The passenger one is a little worse, but both are tipped up slightly (like they would have been from the factory I assume).
After driving with them for a week or so, I have to say I love the lower convex mirrors. When set properly you can see everything including your blind spot. Those are all I really use when driving empty. I will have to try them with the enclosed trailer, I bet I can actually see around it now.

Looks like the dog approves of your work.
-
If you do decide you want to level out the mirrors a little bit, I've got a couple tips from when I did it over in my build thread.
Your truck looks great man!
-
I've seen some around town that weren't even close to level. Must be a bit of difference between models or brands of mirrors.

He likes to stand around and block my normal walking path just to make sure I wasn't thinking of leaving without him. :)
-
What ya doing with the take offs

Bear does that, or he'll stand or lay on my shoes.

I threw them in a box on my shelf, I guess for when I sell the truck. The OEM ones were in pretty bad shape, the chrome was peeling off and the passenger one had been sitting in the Arizona / Utah sun for so many years that it had turned the glass mirror white and was very hard to see anything with.
