The news has changed gears from what I have seen, positive out of Texas tragedy is a good healing for our nation.  Much like the coming together of 9/11   I know it won't take long for people to go back to being simple minded but I am thankful for the way a bad thing turns the people towards the lord.    Sort of a gentle reminder that he is here

Update on Mike, he is no longer septic. Antibiotics did their job, BP & HR are both good. They are currently bringing him off sedation & hope to remove his tube in the next few days.

Please pray for the fast passing of my grandfather Harvey L.   He has been fighting the good fight for 93 years, navy electrician for many of years, Vietnam war p boat driver (I think)

He has had a few falls this past week and left him in really rough shape. Today is the birthday of his past wife who has been gone for 9 years.   I pray my grandfather peace tonight

We all know huricanes are not good but this one is hitting close to home. My brother is stuck riding this one out. Luckily he was able to move his family to a friend's house that is way more fortified than his rental. He works at home depot and said they sold out of plywood by Tuesday. Also by Tuesday morning the roads were backed up from people fleeing south Florida. Gas stations were already running out. He said they would have had to leave last sunday but no way they could afford to out of work for over a week so they waited and prayed. Sounds like they will be taking a direct hit. He said everything is insured so we are hoping and praying for the best. This is where he is. Near Tarpon Springs. His house is in Clearwater.

Jon praying for your brother and his family. This does look bad.

Dave payers for you and your family. Sounds like he lived a full life. Know that all the things you do differently because of what he taught you keeps him alive. Those who pass before us haven't truly left because of that. I am glad he is at peace.

May He grant you peace and solace in your loss Dave.

Regarding the hurricane. As the Lord said.  He causes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust. There will be some of His that are harmed and some that are not His. The results are all for His glory.

I need some prayers for my boss. He had a small stroke yesterday morning. He didn't show up to work so we went to check on him. He lives right across the road from me. Something was obviously wrong but he kept saying he was fine. I had to lie to him to get him to the hospital. I told him I think he has the flu and needs a shot.
I ask for your prayers for a speedy recovery. He will be in the hospital for a few days. We also need your prayers for my brother and I to have the strength and patience to help this stubborn stubborn man. He is 70 year old bachlor. Never married. No kids and no siblings. I've been here 16 years. We are his only family. He does not understand the meaning of the word no. He does what he wants when he wants.

Prayers for your boss Jon, for the record all of us should know the signs and symptoms for a stroke. If you act fast enough they have medicine available that will reverse all the affects of a stroke entirely. However, it is a very short window of time to administer those meds, couple hours if I recall correctly.

Pretty good Tate, they removed his vent last week & put in a trake (I know that isn't spelled right). He does have a cdif infection which they are working on & it should be ok here shortly. His BP has been stable & he is set to most likely go home & finish recouping their with home nurses coming into assist. His wife Dawn has been really stressed out I have been told so prayers for her and a quick recovery for Mike. They were thinking he would have to go ltac route versus going home so that is a positive.

Things got a little worse. My boss had to be moved to Sioux City for surgery. Further testing found his arteries in his neck are critically clogged. He was moved to ICU last night.

Man, had a crappy weekend.

My sunday school teacher and very good friend Tom Cramer died suddenly Saturday. Was passing a farm tractor on his harley when the driver turned left. He went under the batwing, died instantly.

Tom was one anointed man of God. A wonderful guy, he had traveled the holy places many times and when he taught the word, he would describe what this place or that looked like, what it smelled like, what it felt like. He had been a door gunner in a UH-1 in Vietnam and won a bronze star.

I have to work during church doing the security thing so Tom's class early morning was my church. I feel like a big void has opened up, like I don't know what's up. I went to his class anyway this morning and just sat there. Everyone did as well. I guess I will keep going there until God sends someone else to teach the word to us.

He helped found the church, and was a elder or deacon or whatever we call those guys for 36 years. He was a hell raiser who found Jesus then the next day started witnessing to men. He never stopped doing that.

His wife has not shed a tear yet. It hasn't hit home for her yet. They married right after high school. He is the only man she ever knew. She is going to crash hard, hell, we all are.

Prayers for that family and all those affected by this untimely and sudden passing of a beloved friend and man of God.

I don't need any words please, just a silent prayer for that family please...

"I am home. Not very good at thinking. Walking,  or talking yet but I should be up soon"

To which my reply was

Well, that just sounds like you're really old now.........

I'm grateful to have him back and appreciate all your prayers.
