Title: Clear Me
Post by: TexasRedNeck on February 23, 2016, 09:04:27 AM
So for those that travel frequently,  have you considered the Clear Me program?  Aside from the money, they scan your retina and finger prints. I've been finger printed as a course of some professional licensing but wonder if I should be concerned with giving up a retinal scan.

Or am I paranoid?

I'm personally opposed to all of the biometric stuff. Not that I think it's bad now but what if? What really bothers me in this arena is the facial recognition software developments. I recall reading ten years ago that we were on camera an average of 20x a day. I'm sure that has doubled for the average citizen. Then you have the arguement that "well if you haven't done anything you shouldn't worry" BS that is just a plain ignorant statement with the amount of laws on the books! We probably all break at least a couple a day without realizing it.

So with all that said if it makes life easier for you do it, in the end we're all numbered anyhow.

I was involved in airport security after the 911 attacks.

Biometrics scanning is coming/here. People who want you already have you. In a typical stroll through the airport you were subjected to 11 scans. Biometrics, mostly facial recognition using the line theorem what cha call it. Fast computers and I think, 22 data bases. No way could you make it to boarding without getting ID'd. Not sure if it was legal, but I don't recall anyone asking permission.

So are you saying you'd sign up because it's already happening?

I'm more of the shoot em all, let God sort em out crowd...

I believe at that time we were suddenly playing catch up and everyone with a bright idea was being listened to. Sort of the way loss of freedom occurs. An acute event causes a malestorm of ideas, both good and bad to flood an incompetent and overburdened office somewhere, where the CIC (Clerk in charge) makes yet another poor and hasty decision which is instituted before anyone really even knows what's happening, and there you have it...automatic weapons in pill boxes at the check in counter at your local airport.

Layer that with a few regulations, classify some of it secrecy...manage that with a huge Bureaucracy, and you have basically created a defence in depth of your stupid idea. Yep, the rules are all broken, and sure, we are going to address this situation and properly address it, after you apply in triplicate to the EPA, who first will have FBI scan it in some office. Then forward it to the triage committee which is now looking at 3,000 similar complaints and will soon rank yours in sequence, well right after the congressional break and maybe after a year or three of this nonsense, enough of you have given up, died of cancer or found another cause to champion.

Take a look at the process a congressman has to go through to get a bill on the floor. No one, even congress can walk outside the line. It is the reason Congress is powerless. The bureaucracy is what is controlling everything, and whoever (If anyone??) controls that has the joystick!

You see bottom line here is they run the show and only allow you an illusion of control. But you have what they want you to have...or what you are willing to stand up for...

We can even believe in magic!

People believe our president is actually an American and he has a clue!

And now, even more Americans want to fix our nation by electing Comrade Barny!

Magic (And illusion) is alive and well in the merica'

Yup, Don-

yesterday, I had a Comrade in the Socialist Science department take issue that I sent out the link to "Isidewith.com", because he felt I should be only distributing material from the Union (I am the President for three more months) telling all of the Sheeple how to vote!

1. That would be illegal using District resources to disseminate political material.

2. I told him that we are supposed to be teaching students HOW to think, and not WHAT to think, and that I felt college educated ADULTS should be able to inform themselves and if they were unable or unwilling to do so, the SHOULDN'T VOTE!

How DARE I give members a tool to help them think for themselves........RADICAL!

You know, back when I still voted. If I voted for a candidate & he blew it once in office (Ken I wasn't referring to Monica & Bill you can calm down) I was the first to criticize him. So many of these people once they vote for them are afraid to do anything but back them 100%. It kinda reminds me of the Hispanics that come here to the US from Mexico. You can't get them to say anything negative about Mexico. Well, if it was so great why did you leave?
