Title: Gurneys seed catalog
Post by: Farmer Jon on February 08, 2017, 07:35:09 AM
We got ours and my boss got his on the same day. He dont order so he gave me his. He lives right acrossthe road from us. Our mail boxes are side by side. I didnt know at the time we got one too so I threw the 2 on the counter to look at later. That's when I noticed something differant.

This is just the first page. The 50% off catalog is on top.

Why would they send 2 differant people 2 differant books? If my boss ordered the same things I did he would be paying more.
I will not be ordering anything from them anymore.

That is strange. I've always had good luck with Burpee stuff. I think I may be paying a little more but never had an issue with their seeds or plants. Some people say only buy from places near you as the seeds are better suited to your area but I've not had an issue with that.

It's called multi-channel marketing and they messed up. They are rewarding the larger customer and enticing the smaller customer with discounts. Unfortunately for them, this is a risky move especially considering how many of their customers most likely live and work in the very same area. they are trying to cater to the retail, wholesale, and wholesale distributor customers in the same market, which is pretty tough to pull off for anyone. if the product is a good quality and the prices are fair, I would use the current situation as an opportunity to ask how you can get into an even deeper discount level than 75% with them if you haven't written them off entirely. since you do most of the ordering, your name probably comes up as the "bigger customer".

Yea I did. I have ordered in the past. My boss never has. My brother a 1/4 mile down the road never ordered either but he got the same one as me.

The only seeds I buy are salted/roasted and ready to eat.
