Does hunting mean you have to dress out too (milenials can look it up)

Did anyone else have a thing for Mary Ann??
Yep Mary Ann. She was a farm girl from Kansas.  I'm a farm boy from Nebraska. She's the girl next door! Ginger was too high maintenance.

We’ve been homeschooling for about 10 years, we have day 7 of biology every day at nap time. The kids are never able to pass the quiz on chloroform, so we have to keep reviewing it, day after day after day......

Examples of Kentucky written language do show promise; while certain transitional phrases and conjunctions may be absent, the subject has at least spelled the words correctly and has a semblance of order to their arrangement in his essay.

You get a bonus for speakin' ah-nother language!

Man I was in at the wrong time!

I flew for that crazee unit doin' all manner of untried things and hardly ever got a hardee handshake or a toothy smile. Now those guys get like $12K a year in bonuses...and they fly helicopters that does everything for them...Man I was ripped off!

And the Kin-tuck-ee language is a little like navajo. No klearlee written form of it, and then there's the dialects! Some folks speak UK, some speek "louis-ville" and admire red birds. They would be the lesser entellagnant. Then there's the moon shine draw which depending on how far into the jar-u-are makes direct translatin' something of an art form. No wonder why the hatfields and McCoys fought over nothin' at all! Heck, no one understands us, not even ourselves! ah-nother thing to b-member is that we are mostlee thinkin' about as fast as we're talkin'

All that made me think about General Garrison. This guy was a real slow speaker, he amplified and leveraged his southern draw. He liked to make people thing he was slow and a bit behind the curve, but he was anything but. In fact he was a real live Rhodes Scholar with several advanced degrees.

I did a mission for him once when he was the 75th Ranger regimental commander. My job was to clear a taxiway of debris and bad people on this forced entry mission where we had to go 400 miles and seize an airfield. The MH-53 Pavelow flying along side me was supposed to clear the runway with his load of Rangers. Well he didn't, dropping his rangers behind my rangers instead.

The debriefing was a thing of beauty, and the master of ceremonies was none other than Garrison. My 160th buddies, a couple of warrant officers did our part of the debrief while Garrison silently chewed on his always present cuban Ci-Gar. He didn't say anything. Then a couple of Air Force Colonels came up with prepared slides and charts and a pretty well prepared show. I was sitting right behind the General as the Air Force guys analyzed their part of the mission glossing right over the fact that their helo dropped our Rangers in the wrong spot.

Garrison rose and pulled that Ci-Gar out of his mouth and in his slow manner said, "Excuse me fellas but you were supposed to put my rangers on the numbers on the runway." The colonels started talking about their inertial navigation system and computers and this and that, and the general interrupted them. "Excuse me again. Now fellas I'm no pilot, hell, I'm not nearly smart enough to do what you boys do. In fact most people just think I'm a hillbilly. But even though I lack your considerable skills, and again, I'm not that smart, it seems to me that if you are briefed to land to the numbers, and where you're landing THERE'S NO G__DAMM NUMBERS, YOU'RE IN THE WRONG FU__IN PLACE.

You see right there is a shinin' example of how the Kintuckee thing actually works. U dunn have to be so smart, jest have your lick of common cents!

I don't know how the regular Armee is, but inside SOC the leaders can be pretty colorful. We are a closed community, so no one gets to see how we really act. Our 160th Commanders are pretty much cut from the same bolt of cloth. Seems back in the day we were always apologizing to the 101st for doing something wrong. Hard to blame them, they wouldn't fly below 30% illumination, and we were just getting started. We were made to fly all the time at 0% illumination and in poor weather. Amazing more of us didn't get killed doing that crazee stuff!
