When I did my garage I did OSB bottom four feet, drywall above.
It’s served the purpose of keeping holes out but wish it were all OSB. Make hanging small things better than falling out of the drywall…
I primed and painted white with one of the airless sprayers.
Was a white cloud but very fast and done.
Coming along very well.

Been at the boat off and on. I can say I wish I weren't so OCD. Foam sucked, but this vinyl, it's sucking the life out of me. I need it perfect...well I'm dumb for that...  In any case, slowly but surely parts are changing into pieces for the boat. Here's SOB from previous, may or may not have posted this one. 2/3's of main deck installed and glued.  Port rod locker cover piece cut out on right. Vinyl being measured and cut on left.  Left side glued, right side 'drying' similar to contact cement.  The evil in a can...If you ever need to use this stuff in a confined space use a respirator, it's some nasty.  Bottom of lid secured and straight. I took a chance by having it pre-cut to size.  Marked for glue for the top and sides/ends.  Rolling in the edge.  And done... This one... Three hours into the evening, started by cutting the plywood, so slow night.

I call them Whine-i-peggers…
All they talk about is the wind chill.
Clearly never snowmobiled at -40 and 40-60mph.

Back at the boat burning the midnight oil last night.  Repairs all made. Time to start the reassembly process. First up. Foam.  Two part pour foam. Simple equal parts. Mix 30 seconds and when it starts expanding pour…    So as this started expanding out of the cup I raced to pour it into one of the floor voids. Note to self. Don’t wait that long.  It expands a lot.  Was messy but not terrible. I was prepared for much worse. So I’ve been so busy I’ve forgot to take any pics along the way. I know I’m fired. The Christmas party was a hit. The meat and rest of the meal was 100% awesome. My smoker did 65 pounds of butt like a champ and followed with 36 racks. Leftovers were abundant as I had meat for 120 real men and about 75 people showed up. So that was a bonus at work Monday. Lol. Boat is progressing and I’ll get pics when I’m back at it. Tonight is pretzel buns for our staff pot luck tomorrow. The sign up sheet came with my name and pretzel buns. I laughed a lot and here we are. Lol.   Tomorrow is bevies with our management team, so hopefully Thursday night is vacuum wash and rinse for boat. If outside the water would be solid. I’m lucky enough to have ginormous heated buildings at my disposal. So cold outside. Warm in the boat. And I know you’re only kidding. I’ve rounded up the majority of my repair materials. But with the impending staff Christmas party I’ma be busy smoking meat the next couple days.

Hate to dwell on the pipe, but if creosote can drip out the seam, can't smoke escape the other way?

Not unless there is a block in the chimney. Think of it as the smoke is sucked out from the top of the chimney instead of the smoke getting pushed out the chimney from the bottom.
Chimney effect. It is not only a phenomonem but is a real thing. Heat rises and the heat of the smoke and fire simply rushes to the top of the pipe. Smoke stays in the pipe and creosote returns to the burn box not the pipes and floor.

Well my boat is broke about everywhere. That’s the bad news. It’s all fixable. That’s the good news. Buy once cry once. I’ve said it a few times here most likely and I generally live by those words. If I’m going to fix it I’ll fix it all. I could have filled the blt with water and found the leaks. Center floor panel lit gas tank out and done. But. I knew something was wrong. Time to fix it.    Not so beuno. Both sides broken all the way bow to stern. They’ll be getting 2 x 84” fish plates added above and below the floor bracket.  Then there’s this beauty, under the live well. Cracks and fractures all over but I can see them all. It’s just work, and might as well stay busy right… Oh. Work Christmas party Friday evening. Smoking most of this.  So needed to add some rack capacity to the smoker.  The shiny aluminum angles should get me to 20 racks a side. It’s will be done Thursday night for pulled pork. Ribs Friday project. Well I’ll drop this. The other end of the thermometer.  Yesterday on the way to work. Today. Hauled propane x3 100# and 3 drums of fuel. Pegged the trail also.  A balmy -25 or so.  Then found the leaks in the boat.  Full of water…  The culprits. Tight as a drum agsin. Now to measure and fit gussets and start the reconstruction. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Went to Kalispell this morning with little trailer and picked up this 500# stove. Curt my neighbor helped me unload it up onto my covered front porch. About all we could do to get it up there with appliance donkey and two guys. Going to try and get a castered cart under it to bring it in the house early next week.

Looks nice. When I replaced ours this summer used a fooor Jack running on scrap laminate. Worked like a champ.

I run an expansion joint in my permanent installs.
The main reason is for ease of installation.
It also allows he freeze thaw that my place goes through.
Would have saved the ceiling peice too for this one.
I’ve only found them in double wall however so a bit of tin bashing needed to connect them in.
If you use it a lot the chimney sweep stuff is simple and cheap insurance to eliminate chimney fires.
However, upon looking at outside pics, the location and roof make it less desirable.

Back at the boat today. But before that spent too much $$ BOAT - break out another thou… Garmin 95sv on a cyber deal New hydraulic helm to replace worrn out cable job Shares in stainless hardware. Oh well. Buy once cry once… Had a helper tonight and got the console tore out. Last of the flooring lifter and some foam stripped. I can say I hate foam already…and still at the clean stage…  Found some areas of intrest but no smoking gun yet. Tomorrow has cam Mexican credit card and gas tank will come out. Got out to the cabin today. Didn’t check ice, buddy said there 10”. Was planning to haul fuel and propane.  Mother Nature had bigger plans. Over a foot deep and twenty odd feet across maybe a tad more. Found another hole in my boots when checking how deep. Will need to shoe goo it. Broke my favourite snow shovel. And had to Jack the big deck off the sleigh hitch… Was an adventure I suppose. See what the weather brings tomorrow for hauling. And I feel like a million bucks again. This was going to be my suggestion if you weren’t aware. Not sure why I would think that but hey. Probably one of the best investments for those affected by this setup. For those that don’t know, when the CP4 grenades all the metal is flushed away instead of into the injectors.

Dang Jon. Glad everyone is ok. The Sam update. I think I’ve got this licked. Few more days of meds before I’m confident…  Can’t fix the ugly part. Lol. But other than the scabs on my forehead and the two now quite little water sacs things are back on track. Feel like I got ran over by a truck yet but back to just ugly now. Looking forword to getting outside this weekend and hauling fuel and propane and opening the casa back up. Ice is good-ish based on a couple guys that I’ve talked to. They normally ask me…lol. I’ll do a full send with the sled, pick up my sleigh from the cabin, full send back. Check for water and slush then maybe drill a couple holes. Welp.
Doc was happy with how things looked this morning.
Lost the IV from yesterday. New one in now…
A bit of a pin cushion the past few days.
I still look like I just did 10 rounds with someone.
But do feel “better” and think we’ve got this now.
Not out of the woods by any means yet and I’m fully aware. I’m so not used to having to look after me.
Two sick days in a row, other than when I had surgery don’t think I’ve ever used two in a row.
I’m not walking the lake this weekend as I’d planned but that’s me putting me first. The guy I started las week with is going and that will be my news.
Whatever the fluid in my cheeks and eyelids is I can’t afford to freeze. House bound I am till I’m over this.

Did I miss the actual diagnosis Sam? what are they calling this? and sorry Dave, booze and antibiotics are no bueno, especially if they have him on something like Flagyl or Cipro.
So diagnosis was bacterial cellulitis. Comes with those similar words “potentially life threatening” that MRSA comes with. So some seriously serious stuff. And no beuno on having drinks. All of the meds no beuno with booze. Best guess to cause came from our morning meeting at work. One of the guys said maybe from the boat…may be on to something.  Other than I’m still ugly as…doing way better. Off of the IV as of today and added more pills. Five more days till they’re done and then I “should” be out of the woods. As poor as our health system is I feel I’ve been put in good hands. The course of IV coctail I was given appears to have turned the tables for me. I’m doing a selfie every couple hours to keep tabs. As of now I think we’re going back the right way.  I’ll know more in the morning and after the next check in at the ER. Thanks all for your ideas thoughts and prayers. Keep ‘em coming as I’m not out of the word just yet.

Given the location to the mark 1 eyeballs and what little brain I have(left) it is priority one. Based on the docs reaction when she saw me again, yeah don’t ignore infections. Glad you’re doing better too.

Chief, at the ER currently.
They’re running a ton of blood tests currently.
Doc called it some sort of infection that I missed the name of.
My co supervisor is terrified of spiders and that was her immediate call as well.
Currrently getting an IV push of something strong.
New meds for tomorrow and come back to see me was the docs orders.
If no improvement then off for a CT and whatever else.
So apparently the temp doctor we have in is on her game.
I’ll keep y’all posted but add me to your list.

Ok so I omitted I take allergy pills 365 days a year. No changes to anything really. I’ve doubled up the allergy meds already in case but to no avail. But thanks for the options and ideas. I’ll be heading back shortly in hopes to see the same doc.

Sam, I don't like the looks of that at all.
Thought: Don't screw around with an infection. Twice now infections nearly killed my son. My concern is that it is very close to your brain and your eyes. I'd go right now. What would be the reason you wouldn't? Hope it gets better? But if it doesn't, how much more advanced will it be in 6-8 hours. The Chief says move out troop, get seen right now!
To be fair, our hospital sucks currently. I think you’re right though and I’ll likely go. I say likely, as it may be 6-8 before they see me. Now based on the change since yesterday this may be to my advantage.

Forgive the ugly mug… On some antibiotics now for an infection…  Started between my eyes like a zit…but I fortunately have never had that as an issue. Has now morphed into this. Lol but not. Mine is above water so that one at least won’t be my issue. The boat felt funny riding too the last couple trips so I know something broke. Man I hope it’s not something stupid like the live well stuff. Went straight to tearing in. The planning to add water… Hope it’s not a Dho moment.

Just got home from trip to the city.
Was supposed to be a deer hunt till HH6 broke a foot.
So chauffeur duty not muzzle loadin.
Saw -25 or so on the way home. -31C so somewhere mid minus 20’s.
Lake was wide open water Monday.
I’ll be walking across tomorrow most likely.
Very fast freeze up this year.
Had I been on my game and mama not broken maybe wouldn’t have missed a weekend this fall.
Tomorrow will tell the tale.
We’ve been zero or colder since Monday night.
I expect nearly a foot of ice.

I’m with ya. This has escalated quickly… Nice truck…and t-car gone, did you turn a profit? Not that it really matters… Look like huge tires for a poor little 44 to handle. A word of caution. I have to keep my spare under my truck. The gravel eats the wiring instantly. Now if you’re not running a lot of gravel may not matter. Also if the wiring isn’t there not an issue either.

I’m off next week. Was supposed to be for white tails but plans have changed.
Mama broke a foot again, so other priorities.

Got through the spinal surgery OK...Hurting like two people
He removed a segment of Disc which was sticking into the spinal cord channel and said he cut away some bone spurs
On Oxy at the moment, and it hurts BAD! I can't imagine what this would feel like without that strong pain med. Mouth is dry. like, really dry. Can't pee yet...That could be a problem, but God has it
The prognosis for recovery is excellent...Just have to suck it up for a week or so
Drink more water, and change your socks, you know the drill.
Glad to see it went well.

Well winter came in full force the past couple days. Looking to be above freezing the weekend and then gone I think.   I hope to see it all go as frost isn’t in the ground and bush yet. And my snowblower is apart in the garage. So if it gets to 40-42 like they’re claiming I may water my driveway. Currently has a four foot or so drift across it. And I don’t see me shovelin’ yet. Winter is ah comin’
Landing lake, our floatplane lake froze over Sunday night.
Small water in ditches and swamps frozen.
Big water 42 this morning. 51 last Thursday.
Foot of snow coming in the next week.
I’m guessing two weeks plus a tad for ice cover.
Early…
Tore the snowblower apart to fix the friction wheel.
There’s a chore.
A lot, and I mean a lot of parts have to come out.
Well it’s everthing other than the pulleys…
So now I’m waiting on parts as I’ve completely buggered it.
The large missing flat spot explains the erratic operation the past couple years.
The tubeless tires are no longer tubeless and now hold air again.
Lots of fall cleanup done and a bit more to go before snow flies and stays.
Yeah it’s that time again.

Intake manifold gasket…
Uh it’s silicone. Grey stuff.
There’s o-rings and silicone on the intake.
No gaskets.
Gaskets on heads, exhaust, some coolant bits.
Surprising few gaskets as a matter of fact.
Sounds like that shop shouldn’t be.
Sorry to hear this.
