You may need 37s sooner than you think. Withs 35s and 4.88s that motor is going to be screaming at 70mph.

Don't know how much area a welded thumb takes up, but if you ever want to use other attachments on the bucket stick make sure you will have room with a welded in place thumb.

Yep, don't want to limit any use of the bucket. Install vids all show spacing it off the bucket.

Thanks, looking at options and would for sure match it to the bucket.

Don't even think the kabota thumb will work on mine with the QR bucket.

What do you guys think of a weld on thumb? About 1/2 the price and includes hoses, free shipping.

My stock setup has a quick release bucket which adds to the dedicated thumb cost.

Might be an option. Got a card from the seller who says there is a local who does that.

5707
Hard to hear, but it is there.

5708
Got the Dmax back from the shop today with the 4.56 gears. Has a whine now in both drive and coast. Setup looks OK, filled with Amsoil.

MPH is way off after a new tune, like 15mph (showing 85 for 70gps). It needs the 37s now, turning 2k at true 70mph.

Darn ABS and brake warning are on with the diff gears. Time for the lift to get on!

Nate I hate you. Last time we were at Sears point Kyle Bush stopped signing autographs as we walked up, then he won. (I don't like kyle, reminds me of stewart)

Kids weren't happy but got Stenhouse Jr's.

I think mine has power down (hst plus). Hopefully the rippers will get the rocks loose and the scrapper do its job.

Yep, thought about ballast, will need to check. The 45 is considered a large compact

Did a lot of reading last night and many say tractor width minimum and over is OK, even with smaller machines.

I am don't have wet or clay soil either, not by a long shot. Some surface rocks and it looks like granite, great for drilling!

45hp and 7K, 6ft wide. As wide as the tractor to cover my tracts.

Yeah, I don't like the clamp on either, that's why I am asking.

Did a bunch of searches and never saw that guy. Why are they all back east meaning high shipping!

Actually I bet that is a federal DOT rule, tuck or not.

But like I said, who would check. We do want the prerangers safe, right?

Tractor should be out of the shop next week, just waiting on a horn button (I splurged)

Ordered a 3 point setup from kabota in sparks. I really like them they are giving me quotes with discounts already. They have Landpride box blades in stock. 6ft is $1000.

Been sorta looking for a thumb and forks. Not sure about the clamp on forks, anyone have those? Rather have quick release.

On the thumb. From kabota it is $900 for just the thumb. Sure the kit is double that. Got a quote from Toms Thumbs for about $1600 with hydro or $1000 for a weld up kit (with all pins and clips)I just supply hoses (I like).

Nice thing is the backhoe is setup for a thumb with plumbing and foot controls.

I believe an emergency bake must be a separate system, line lock doesn't work. Brakes fail, you need to stop you still don't have brakes, most are mech vs hydro.

Napa should have conversion universals in stock. Pretty common really.

On the air bag issue, just add a shut off valve in line? Open and adjust as needed, close and bags are isolated.

5720
Never mind, figured it out. Jeff's a good guy, tell him I said hello.

I was wondering if you knew him,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

5721
Your the guy who would know too, had me going for a sec!

5722
He came recommended by a local diesel shop. Reviews looked good.

Has more axles in there than many yards.

Quoted $400, plus fluids.

Axles and a lift?

5724
Dropped off the Dax at River City Diff in Rancho Cordova this am. Said he will have it done tomorrow.

Called to ask for a pic of it when he gets things setup and a pattern pic. He is already working on it, said he used to work for Randys.

Here’s another thought, maybe Don should drive within limits of suspension.

Oh, I think the suspension will handle it just fine. Even with deep mulch beds.

I also think the airbags are a moot point with as little that will transfer unless it a LONG turn and the sway bar helps that too.

Nate, we are the BIGGER versions,,,,,

Did you buy those gussets? Sure are clean. Thinking about continuing the skid all the way to the front bumper?

Come on guys, 8K, 6 inch lift, monster bumpers, lots of drag up top and Dons driving. What could go wrong?

5729
Will have to look into the clutch or weights. Way to jerky getting it to move a little around here. I'll inspect the belt and drive surface too.

Few more pics not on the trailer. Oil looks really good but will change anyway.

Some of the tires these guys go with it crazy. I can see a 1-2 lift and tires later. 14s rims would be great and run regular mud tires.

You need PCV, just cut or run hoses. Some companies make bolt on hose fittings.

Delete or block for sure. Same for the PCV. Soot and oil are not the intakes friend!

Not that it matters much, but our wells down her run 30-34/foot. I asked my neighbor who is in the pump business.

I'll take it!!

Actually got the Carb legal PPE manifolds. Now going to NV may not need em with the EGR pipe.

5737
A bad belt will surely cause it in one of those,  plus the older ones vibrate bad when they are new. ..both pistons travel together instead of opposing. Weird.

I saw that and though about the belt. Seems you can change weights in the clutch too for diff response. It seems a little loose right now.

Yep, pistons travel side by side, but fire opposite and it has a big balance shaft.

That should hold back dirt and cars.

5742
To finish this up I got a 2008 Polaris Ranger 700 XP.

Pretty good shape for 11 years old. Everything works but the brake lights.

Good power, but vibrates more than I like.

Looking for a hard top even though the soft top is OK for now.

Windshield maybe, coated poly is probably the best bet for price and safety.

Tires good, maybe upgrade when they need it to 27/28's 14's.

Think the filter was $65, not terrible. Oil was $120 for 5gal though (need 11) where I can get name brand for $50.

Not sure about casing yet but so far all are around the same price. My first thing is to get a road and pad cleared. I am "acquiring" things and need to get up out of here. Got a line on some containers for a good price local, but no where to put them.

Dmax is getting regeared this week to 4.56. Level ground was not bad but pulling the mountains the gearing really shows. That will put me back another week as I have to break them in.

Probably buy an auger. TSC has em for a good price.

Love to get a dowser up there. Bad part is how deep I may have to drill. Could make an extension I guess.
