Picker this up for the Ridge. Alway seems to be a hassle finding pans and dumping them and this holds all I need and easy to dump.

Well been a busy few days for me.

Cut up some cedar. I’d wager 250 odd board feet. Hauled it, my router table and jobsite saw gone to take south.
Figured I’d check front end as tires had funny wear and four years ago was last alignment.

In a picture this sums it up.
Uppers and lower both sides…

My buddy for the win… Mac master set of some sort.
At least the front wheels won’t fall off now. They were that bad it couldn’t wait.
Now back to finishing up packing.

Getting ready for Boy Scout camp next week. I think I am more excited about it than some of the scouts are. What I'm not looking forward to is when I get back my wife is moving out. The past few years we have just been going through the motions. We are still friends and hardly every argue. We get along great. We just don't make a good couple.
A year or so ago we were talking about our goals in life. Where we want to be when we retire and such. We have 2 very different life goals. It sucks but it's for the better. The boys seem to be taking the news pretty well. She is moving to a very small town that they are familiar with. We have some friends and family living a few block away.

I actually hate hearing this. I may be wrong, but breaking up a family always seems to be the devil's work.

Just this morning I woke up dreaming about my marriage to Kathy.

I was at the very end of my life, and I was reflecting on all our days. The girls, the boys, and all our days. I'd say about an equal number of good to bad. I'd say that both of us are equally guilty for not just shutting our mouths or for not compromising. I wondered how it would have been if we just went our separate ways sometimes, but then I thought that overall, we negotiated through life's troubles together. We worked through innumerable problems, and we weathered all sorts of problems.

And at that moment it was as if God himself was offering me the chance to rewind to any point in my life and choose a different path. I recall being amazed by that prospect. I could go back to when we had a rough spell and just walk away. Maybe to find that beautiful Swedish bombshell who would swoon over me every waking moment. Or I could go it alone, become the super warrior I always wanted to be, and just live for the adventure.

But after considering it all, I thought in my mind that I wouldn't change anything. I am and we are what we are because of all that. We survived through all of it and neither one of us is the same person but through all the grinding against each other and the fighting and the disagreements and the stubbornness, we each became better people.

Thought I'd share, as it seems to have some relevance.

I pray it all works out

Well, I did it again. I had been watching this on FB, but the guy hardly answered questions. Was posted for $500 for about a month and I was about to offer him 250. Plus it had been posted a couple of times. I sold the big cabinet one about 2 months ago, just to big and had been eyeing these.

So today I get a message, "COME GET IT". He said free just wants it gone as he is moving his shop. (SF the poor guy) Was surprised with almost no traffic, was 30f cooler and he loaded with a forklift. Cost me about $20 in bridge tolls and $25 gas. I even offered him $100 for his trouble, but he wouldn't take it.

Sure it needs a little TLC, but for the price!! I see these go for 3-5k used.

So me and HH6 made another rounder down south with stuff.

Not sure if I posted it before but got a nearly new, well new… it had 800 miles on it, enclosed trailer. This thing is a beast. 24’ on the straight wall with V-nose on top of that, 4” I beam floor trusses, 16” OC. 3/4 floor, all the options of 2015.
Comes in at a super light tare of 4427 pounds! Yikes! Some sarcasm there. I added some equalizer hitch stuff as I had the hitch from out old travel trailer laying around. Turns out this thing is similar in size, about 30-31 feet overall and approaching 10’ tall

It was full on the way out.

And HEAVY! 14-15k maybe…was quite a stone boat for passing.
And boy does it love fuel…10.5 or so on the 800 mile trip about 70-75…probably some of the mileage problem there…

That is a nice size trailer. My little 20 ft. enclosed trailer for moving cars around doesn’t get much better on mileage than that and I don’t travel near as fast.

Got back from a week of scout camp. They earned alot of merit badges. Everything from blacksmithing to swimming and pottery and more. This is my Nephew in the forge and my quarters for the week. Temps in 80s during the day and 60s overnight. Couldn't ask for better weather. Except for the humidity.

Got back in time to enjoy a float trip down the river with 65 other people. Ran into some old friends I haven't seen in years and made a couple new ones.

OK, who is going to run as Biden dropped out. Hillary and Harris are jokes, Newsom has destroyed Kali already but loves to hear himself talk.

Kennedy?

If they were intelligent they would have an open convention and let the people decide. I mean they forced Biden upon them for a supposed second term and now he’s dropped out. Open it up and let best lefty win. Imo it should be Kennedy as he’s more likely to pull independents than these other losers

I admire the democrats.   They suspend logic and reality in the pure pursuit of power leading to socialism.  They rarely break ranks and would (and did) vote in a vegetable to keep and gain power.

Put a 16in exhaust fan up in the garage. AC didn't really do anything. With the 100+ days we've been having needed something, just can't work out there.

https://www.vevor.com/exhaust-fan-c_11982/vevor-shutter-exhaust-fan-16-with-speed-controller-ac-motor-2000-cfm-no-assembly-required-wall-mount-attic-fan-ventilation-and-cooling-for-greenhouses-garages-sheds-fcc-listed-p_010822586031

WOW, cracked a window in the far garage where the grass and tree is, air gets sucked threw and is really nice.

Why did I not think to ask you about recommendations?  We did RPM Seafood and Chicago Cut Steakhouse and a couple of hole in the wall Italian places all down by the riverwalk.  I will definitely keep those on the list for next time.

We did the Navy Pier, Ferris wheel, art museum, trump tower, river tours, architectural tour, etc

So it’s been a couple busy weeks for me.
Running building cleaning repeat…

Starting to get the place feeling like home. Our big rable and some pics on the walls. Got the pantry closed up as well.

Sam cut and milled cedar to line the entry closet and linen as well.

We had friends coming out for a visit we hadn’t seen in years and I thought they weee coming with their TT. So installed a plug on the shop for that.

Then got busy trying to get the shop in some semblance of order.

Found some floor space and the struggles continue.
The pallet racking is a winner.

We hummed and hawed and finally did a thing.

It’s a 2006 unit and got a decent deal on it I think. Our boat up north has to stay there and we wanted something here too. So it will fill the void until we sort everything out on the future.

Then it was onto some projects of mine.
Up next was the boiler and heat install.

Stated out by laying all the pieces out to figure real estate out.

A bit of a diagram and parts list.
Round one and two on this page and now we’re on Rev. 4…
Three trips to the store, and here’s where I’m at tonight.

I’m still short a couple elbows, but the end goal is in sight now.

I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

That's a lot of work!.
Just so I'm following, this work was at the new place, not your old home or the cabin?

Correct. All at the retirement place.

Lots to do when we get home again too.

The cedar came from these poles.

Took a group of scouts to a 3 day meritt bage collage. It was hot and no shade. Luckily the troop camping next to us was my old troop when I was a kid. They had a big shade tent. Went to the water park last night.  That was nice to cool off.
