So today I installed a whole house fan.

Install was fairly easy. Its a Quiet Cool and they have several models. Some blow into the attic, then out your vents or gable. This mounts on the roof and is app controlled, 3 speeds with temp settings.

Now my joists are on 16s, so my opening was just 14, they wanted 17.25. I improvised some with tapered cuts but the motor accounts for some area too.

Only issue was I stripped out one of the cover screws.

It is right at the top of the stairs that was always a hot spot anyway. Low speed is super quiet and said to pull just 27 watts. It cools down nice here at night and we always get indian summers (is that PC). I can feel the difference already.

Had to order a cover, no one has the size I want in stock. HD had it for less than anyone and next day delivery, free.

Control box is just hanging until I get the app working and the cord is a good 10ft. Still have to fill the ends where the insulation is open and make louvers to keep air going the right way.

That should help overall on electric bill I’d think. We looked at installing one in first house in Colorado.

Between that and the new solar it should help a lot. I actually made 15k KW over my use a couple days last month. Even with the AC going good rarely am I seeing over 30k a day now.

Sometimes it runs late even after its nice outside, this should pull the cool air in when needed. Plus they way rates works here, high rate is 4-9pm. Oh, and Kali just approved the 4th rate increase this year!!

Here is a snap of last months use. Month before we used 55k a few days. Before the new solar, never saw green (power to pge).

Harvest has officially started. Got all the silage chopped. Sold the copper last year and hired it done. They did in one day what always took us 2-3 weeks.

Man, the VA sure knows how to mess up your day! I submitted a claim back in April to get my disability evaluated, went to the appointments, and the claim  moved to determining your disability rating at the end of July. I got a notice today that the claim moved back to gathering information and told me I need to set up 2 new appointments. I wonder if they hope I will die first

Lots to catch up on. Ken the only time you’ll be E4 is making an error at second base….lol

Been busy and just picked up a 2008 Tahoe with 60k on the clock. My FIL bought it new and rarely drove it. Only people to sit in the back seat were my kids when they visited 10yeara ago.

Ordered a mess of parts to flush fluids and change hoses and belts and shocks etc. will require some serious paint correction but plan to drive this as a beater back and forth to the ranch while the Bus is getting a rebuilt Duramax.

Oil still looks like it in the
Bottle. Going to reprogram the AFM and delete the speed limiter and will put some 20 inch Tahoe wheels on it.

Since it’s maroon and my youngest started at Texas A&M we now call this the Aggie Wagon

really wish i would have had one when i was in the 117* summers in southern OR. the attic was so hot, our christmas and halloween decorations that were moulded plastics warped or just flat out melted. i could only be up there for 20-30 seconds at a time and would have to take cool down breaks in between. never stored summer items up there again.

Been looking for almost a year for a 350x, had one close to being bought a few months ago from a widow when she backed out at 11th hour. Got done stacking wood this evening and sat down in office. I opened marketplace and this was just listed about 20 mins from me. An hour later it was in my pickup. Needs a couple small things but seems like a solid bike.

We as youth had a 250r that we mounted golf cart wheels on the back of. It was a riot on wet grass and the asphalt

We survived and better for it in my opinion. Glad ya found one

The small tires was what had me on the two stroke.
The 250’s yep. I know the ones chief. Pure nuts.

Fall is taking its sweet time coming.  Even tho we had that early frost been pushing 70’s and better many days. Trying it clean up all my started messes…and finding ones I didn’t know about along the way.

I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

We are more than two months before that eventuality.

Please a couple more months!! I have been diddling with the exc and need a solid road to get up that hill.

So going back to regular acetylene for my torches. Propane worked, but was a pain with the tank size and special tips and hose. Found a couple 80cf tanks local for $80, but may have to be recert when empty.

We have had snow here in Utah peaks already. Of course it’s gone by the next day but cool still. Peaks had maybe 200feet from top to bottom of snow line

I bet it's beautiful!

I was never so impressed by a state as I was in Utah last April. No wonder it is so expensive there. With low taxes and low crime and the views, it's perfect!

Ugg, spent the morning in the ER. Thought it was a heart issue, they don't know but not the heart. Probably GI, but hard to tell.
JR, you take care, and find out what the problem is and try to resolve. You have way too much to do to start having health issues. Get the place built and enjoy it for a few years for starters.

Thx guys, nothing so far though. My white blood cells were up is all maybe pointing to a virus. I feel better overall than I have in years but damn it hurt this AM.

Son and I hit an estate sale after that and I scored nice (knew the sellers) Post a pic tomorrow.

Spool of 1/2 braided rope (500ft +), ammo can in great shape, camo net, alum billet chunks, box is full of striping tape, two 5gal gas cans, new box of walnut blasting media (not shown) Offered $80 and my old work buddy took the offer.

Did someone mention 250r?

My favorite all time trike. Just sold it to a young army man a few years ago.
Still miss it, even at my age.

Getting the beans out. The wind has been awful the past couple days. We're taking the weekend off. There have been too many fires.
A neighbor had a bad ATV accident and has been in the hospital for the past couple weeks so a bunch of us are getting together today to get some of his beans out.
