It didn't have to be there Bob, but it was the best spot, and the flattest. Anywhere else and I would have had to bench it out for the rigs. Funny thing is, I had constant water running out of the 3' trench I dug for power, for 3 days, before I backfilled. Not sure if it would be year round but sure made me think about it.

700ft, wow. That is a deep one. I have seen pumps for 1-2k for that deep.
Glad you have things going better.
Yep, rodents will kill it. I am skerting mine with foam and throwing mothballs under it. Foam should keep the critters at bay and freezing up is a maybe up there
Guess what the quote is for a pump, with labor, permit, wired, with excavation (buried plastic vault for a pressure tank and about 60' of trench to the meter), with one hydrant for the RV 16,500. Ugh. Might have to do it myself Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

Thanks Don.
I do visit now and then. Just didn't feel like posting.
Finally sold my old house (rental). That gave me just enough to pay off the property, run power (in the works), have a 700' well drilled (done), and possibly install a pump. That's it, no cabin.

JR, I thought by leaving the trailer up there the problems would go away. The heat takes a toll on batteries, tires, roof , fiberglass, and dried out all the cabinets. Up there, the cold shrunk the linoleum floor and split it down the middle, froze and split the batteries, the moisture swoll the oak cabinets to where they won't shut and the undercarriage is rusted real bad now. Frozen water heater because I couldn't drain it, etc .
.. but the worst part, so far, is rodents

So, ended up using the gooseneck on that trip, in 2022. Grossed 28k at the cat scales near Butte. Also finished the RV shelter on that trip. 2023 didn't get anything done in Idaho except trying to keep mice out of the RV. Best friend died from cancer and he helped me tremendously up there . Funny thing TRN. Soon as you get about 50 miles out of the urban areas its a whole nother state. To bad we didn't hook up though, but if the family had a good time.
I hope you meant the old version of hooking up, but who am I too judge. Just posting this so you guys can give me crap. I slightly miss it When I had the mini dozer shipped out they threw a "cheap" toothed skid steer bucket on the trailer, for my 50hp tractor. They're cheaper and I thought it would be fine, but turns out, they're heavier and too deep , causing too much leverage on the compact's hydraulics. So, I cut out 7". Still heavy but got rid of the leverage/tilt problem. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

Took a couple days off to enjoy the desert before it gets any warmer. Took a 25 mile trail (5 hours in the General... Very rough) that ended at an oasis. Never been here and definitely planning to go back. So, it's a wide slot canyon, running water year round, that ties into a larger canyon with a protected status, and more water.... not even allowed to hike that one without a permit. Some of the trees have a 10+ foot stump. Saw a couple families of Coati also. Too bad we had to leave right away to make it back to camp before dark. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

Missing the check engine light is a red flag, along with no comms.
Can you communicate with other modules?.. like the TCM?
I'd put a wiring issue at a 95% chance. Under hood fuse block at 4%

Thanks Jon, I'll be able to sleep better tonight Finished a little project, the new fence/retaining wall at the shop. Shouldn't flood again, hopefully. Still have a couple strands of barbed wire to add to one side but my arms need to heal from the previous strands. The automotive work sure is keeping me busy. That fence should've been done months ago. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

Nice score!
Don, a while back I mentioned that the newer Mopar vehicles require certain scanner setups . Last time I tried working on a 16 ram I had to buy a subscription, register my scanner (snap-on's flagship 6 years ago), and spent a day trying to get it to hook up to the truck. Just found out Monday that the scanner has to be up to date within 30 days (updated every 30 days) or Chrysler won't give it permission to do what scanners do.
Snap-on no longer supports my scanner, mostly because of these new protocols.
... So a new one is on order, just so I can continue dealing with modern junk, Mopar in particular. If I didn't have so many Rams come in the door I'd give snappy the middle finger, and just struggle through with the other brands.
Rant over, for now

Since I started working solo again, the first thing I quit doing for customers is oil changes. Why do something you despise doing? Quit most heavy work, well, because it's tough on my body. Quit working on European cars a year ago or so. Motorhomes before that... Pretty soon I won't have anything to do!

Those are for supporting items you're working on, like transmission mounts, installing shocks, etc . Very useful, just not for supporting the vehicle, imo. That's what the safety locks are for.

You'd be surprised how much a 9k lift will raise. I routinely have 12-14k service trucks on a no-name Chinese lift. They wobble a bit but no biggie. After 15+ years the plastic guides are worn or completely missing. What's this safety jacks idea JR? Never heard of it But seriously, I don't recommend using support jacks. Several scenarios where it's more dangerous to use them. Oh, and pretty sure they're all China, just levels of quality very. Bendpac is one of the best cheaper lines imo. Had the unfortunate pleasure of working on a '19 Dodge diesel this week. Dodge was the first to come out with a security gateway module in 2018. I knew about it but postponed getting set up for it . This is what I have to do now. Since I use snap on diagnostic tools, I first have to set up a profile account with them, list the scanners along with their serial numbers, accociated pin numbers, and the technician assigned to said tools. Then I go to a website called Tech authority to pay 50/year, give them the Snap on account info, etc . They act as a gatekeeper for the factory brands. Once you plug into the vehicle (must be near internet), it connects to Tech authority, they grant permission to go further. This leaves a "paper trail" of whatever I do in the vehicle. The reason I'm posting this is because the days are almost over for hitting up AutoZone, or using handheld code readers, to clear codes. (You are only allowed to read generic data, not able to perform any functional tests). I've about had enough of this horsecrap.
