I dislike underground LP tanks, always have and always will. The developer who built the cabin didn’t want to bring in enough fill & buried the tank too low. So now the lid or box will fill with water during the winter and spring wet season.
This is my second attempt to try and keep water out of it. I buried a drain pipe as low as I could yet still get fall on it to the ditch. The drain opening at the box on the outside at this level it is below the regulator and shut off valve inside the box. I then filled it with pea gravel on the drain side outside of green box to the surface. Finally I cut the soil around the whole thing out about 8” deep and sloped the soil around perimeter of box to the drain side. Finally I backfilled around box with pea gravel. My thought is any water around exterior should make its way thru pea gravel and towards drain. Fingers crossed

may have to do this with my water meter. earlier this summer when i was deep watering the yard the box and the neighbor's box filled completely and started running over into the street. nice work sir

Been looking for almost a year for a 350x, had one close to being bought a few months ago from a widow when she backed out at 11th hour. Got done stacking wood this evening and sat down in office. I opened marketplace and this was just listed about 20 mins from me. An hour later it was in my pickup. Needs a couple small things but seems like a solid bike.

It is right at the top of the stairs that was always a hot spot anyway. Low speed is super quiet and said to pull just 27 watts. It cools down nice here at night and we always get indian summers (is that PC). I can feel the difference already.
Had to order a cover, no one has the size I want in stock. HD had it for less than anyone and next day delivery, free.
Control box is just hanging until I get the app working and the cord is a good 10ft. Still have to fill the ends where the insulation is open and make louvers to keep air going the right way.
That should help overall on electric bill I’d think. We looked at installing one in first house in Colorado.
really wish i would have had one when i was in the 117* summers in southern OR. the attic was so hot, our christmas and halloween decorations that were moulded plastics warped or just flat out melted. i could only be up there for 20-30 seconds at a time and would have to take cool down breaks in between. never stored summer items up there again.

And then I started to install the aluminum diff cover
But wait, the bolt holes did not line up.
And the gasket looked different
And the whole thing was smaller than the steel cover I just removed.
Ya, the thing did not fit. I got $300+ for the new cover and $105 for the fluid; all I got was a fresh fluid change for the axle. Now that may not be all that bad, since axles break in, and changing the fluid afterward is a good idea. So I'll take that much, but No one, including the people who sold it, said anything about this 12" AAM has a bigger cover.
Why did they do that? A Dana 60 cover fits a Dana 70. The earlier 11.5AAM is almost as big, so why not keep common parts?
Don and I had a chat about these the other day and he encouraged me to add some details to the confusion ;-) from 2019+ here are the new options: 11.5" AAM 2500/3500 12 Bolt R/G (DRQ/ DRX Axle Code) 32 spline pinion 14 bolt Cover; 30 Spline Axles 12" Ram 3500 16 Bolt R/G DRC / DR7 AXLE CODE 32 spline pinion 30 Spline Axle / Carrier Case 14 bolt Cover (Don's truck) 12" Dropout Ram 4500/5500 16 Bolt R/G "DRY" AXLE CODE 32 spline pinion 33 Spline Axle / Carrier Case the AAM rear has a carrier break for the 1st time since it's inception in 2003; 4.10/down 4.44/up, and most have a new "trac-rite" clutch type limited slip like Don's here. We do have new gears for them, up to 4.44 ratio front and rear, and factory limited slips, but the supply is low from AAM, i'd say we do 2-3 regears a month, whereas on jeeps for example it's 20-30 a day for comparison. since our setup specs have not been updated for a while, here are the details on these new differentials as well: Set up specs : w/ OE gears 11.5: Back lash – 0.007-11 Pinion Bearing Preload - 15-25 in/lb Carrier Caps - 207 Ft/lb Ring Gear Bolts - 59Ft/lb + 64 degrees – OEM bolts are Torque To Yield – DO NOT RE USE - OEM bolt # 5086783AB 12”: Back lash – 0.008-12 Pinion Bearing Preload - 23-37 in/lb Carrier Caps - 180 Ft/lb Ring Gear Bolts - 74Ft/lb + 57 degrees – OEM bolts are Torque To Yield – DO NOT RE USE - OEM bolt # 68455381AB

Having worked for the wheel and tire shop for 5 years, i'm not a fan of them either; always having to be re-torqued, but if you do them i highly recommend these guys. https://customwheeladapters.com/ US made and steel, not aluminum.

Dropped the block and crank off this morning. only thing they don’t have is torque plates for the 6.6. I’d like to have it but its hard to find a good machine shop in Houston with all the right stuff and the experience
It’ll be 20 over, new cam bearings, new freeze plugs , line honed, crank polished, lightly decked.

So this project is slowly being brought back out of the cobwebs. Tonight I pulled the transfer case, probably pull the transmission tomorrow if I can find the time.
My question for all of you is this: should I do a rebuild on the transfer case (NP208) while I have it out? If so, is there a recommended source for a rebuild kit? It’ll be my first time, but I should be able to figure it out with Google and YouTube.
Thoughts?

Jordan Peterson and his daugher might be a little kooky, but they went full carnivore diet on their RA and have reportedly severely reduced or stopped all of their medication to treat it. autoimmune is a beast. My diverticulitis will rear it's ugly head with the oddest of foods or combos of foods, so I keep a notepad of what makes me feel like crap, and what doesn't. Funny how God can gently tap you on the shoulder for years and go unheard until he has to smack you over the head with a hammer to get you to listen. if i had addressed my issues 22 years ago who knows how much better off i would be.

Technically yesterday, in the A M, I helped neighbor sheet w/ osb their new walk in chicken coop after he had wired & insulated it. Took about 3 hours of measuring and cutting.
Then in the afternoon I came home and started getting parts around to ship as I’m behind from a 5 day trip down south. So of course I went into hippy mode wearing sandals. I mean no welding just cleaning up and packing parts what could be the harm?
I’ll tell ya what, a devil of a wire wheel on the 4” grinder caught and I lost my one handed grip on said grinder. It was like a mouse in mommas kitchen minus the screaming. Anyhow, zero pics or video & you’re welcome for hopefully some light entertainment.  Meaning me…….

I buttoned it all up then went on a test drive. I topped up the fuel tank then hit the interstate headed toward Louisville. I could not avoid hitting many good-sized potholes.
The result is a positive one. The Fox shock swap definitely took a lot of the bone-jarring sensations out of the ride. It was not as smooth as the factory, but much better than with the German shocks. I would say it is 50% better than it was and something short of the factory ride. It is now acceptable.
Isn't it amazing that the factory ride quality is better than the high-cost replacement stuff? I would advise not to level the truck just for the sake of leveling if you have a newer truck. If I knew then what I know now, I would have left everything stock for a couple of years and just put up with the nose-low attitude (Which I do not like).
So, it is what it is, although it no longer rides as smoothly as stock, these springs and shocks offer all sorts of an expanded envelope. I'll likely never learn about it, but is done and I am moving on.
Glad you got a better outcome with these and sad you didn't get a chance to ride the tuned shocks to match the spring rate, but this is better than 2 months wait time for sure. it is really amazing how valving and tuning have an effect on ride quality. if you had bigger heavier tires and wheels, those bilstiens might have been just the ticket.

Yeah we’ve had the trailer 3 years, figured it was time.
Also discovered one of the tires (OEM chinabombs) has the beginning of a bubble in the middle of the tread. :(
nothing like some good ol bare minimum load rating to spice up your afternoon. Glad you found it before you got to watch the trailer twerking down the hwy.

Raining here today, took the time and went to dmv and made it official as a resident of the great state of Montana. Then I immediately went to Sheriffs office to try and get my conceal carry (yes we’re constitutional carry) but the permit allows you in many state properties as well. Apparently there is a qualifier shoot to get it and I need to have DL for 6 months. Was able to get my in state fishing license though.
Tate, no River or stream fishing in Western Zone from Nov 30th thru the third Saturday in May, so winter trout is off……

After speaking with the boys at Carli, I should not have sold you the individual components without the shocks, as they are all engineered to work around each other like one big happy family. If you found fox 2.0 try them out before throwing in the towel on the system. as they are not carli tuned they may not be as ideal as they were intended but are likely to solve 90% of your issues. He's hard to get on the phone since it's just him, but Tyler over at Carli is a wealth of knowledge. Tyler@carlisusupension.com. just let him know you're working with me on this project.

We just continued the assembly, the Torque-King manual has step-by-step instructions and covers all the variants from different automakers and model years. The rebuild kit from Randy’s Worldwide contains all the parts necessary. It is a complete kit.
other than your tech manual pedestal being slightly over engineered, i think this is coming along very very nicely sir

Over the past couple of days, replaced alternators in both odysseys(2005 & 2011), then replaced plugs and front pads in the 2011. Then yesterday the power steering was acting up in the 2004 Chevy Express. They just don’t build things to last anymore. I mean, the 2011 Odyssey only has 288000 miles, the 2005 has a slightly more respectable 336000 and the Express only has about 515000. It’s like they try to force you to buy new by making things fall apart.
Oh well, guess I’ll just live with the hand I’m dealt.

3500 Ram has the 11.5 AAM straight axle in the rear, and that AAM 9.25 solid front axle...At least I think it is the 9.25...Anybody?
late ram dually w/ the 6.7 now possibly have 12" rear! front is different too, but not much in size, just bearings and seal dimensions, just enough to make it hard to modify... single rear wheel are still 11.5 but again, increased pinion bearing size and seal size. still playing catch-up. looking really good there sir.

When I tow trailers I always carry 2ea spares, reason is most of the tires are from the Chinaman and do not hold up. Almost every trip across the country I have needed one.
Deep off road I did the same thing 2ea, and on two different trips I needed them both, one the tire failed and the second was rocks cutting side wall.
Rocks cutting the sidewall is a common issue out this way from shale and sharp granite. i wouldn't go out without one

Good news.
"An on demand style tcase has active clutches connecting the front driveshaft to the transfercase. Even in 2wd, there is still residual friction from the clutch surfaces sliding causing felt drag on the drive shaft . think of it like the clutches in a limited slip- they allow for a controlled amount of power transfer at any given time.
When engaging 4wd manually, this clamps down on said clutch pack with additional force , this exponentially increases break away torque .
In an non on demand case its all gear driven – its either connected or not. That is why on a different style case it can be turned by hand in 2wd. This unit is on demand and the clutches are brand new and will break in over time."

I'm 99% certain the clutch is your issue and you have no need to rebuild. we build them very tight for initial break in, and you can overcome this clutch situation with a few alternating figure 8's in 4wd in the parking lot. might even be worth a try before jacking it up.
Its been awhile, Tate, but I finally got around to doing this.
I did a half dozen figure-"8s" in a parking lot reversing on each completion of the turn. So, now what am I looking for, Being able to rotate the front driveshaft freely?
On another note, I have had the burb up for sale for a couple weeks now and with some offers, but I keep turning them down or sending the buyer home. One thing is that I cannot in good conscience sell it to someone who I feel is financially struggling.
The other thing is, I really like that truck. It is cool, I like driving it and it costs me a couple hundred a year in insurance and registration, $500 tops. Is it just a keeper?

AAM TRAC RITE aka absolute garbage, and this is on a personal level,not business oriented at all. hardened gears and soft cast iron cases don't mix well. but that's on 2018 and older scenarios, and i cannot speak for 2019+.

i think I've posted this somewhere before, but i had it back in Dec of 2019 before it was "here". a customer of mine builds super custom buggies and ships them over to china for the billionaires to timeshare or something like that. he was flown out there in oct of 19 to see their operation and his translator was from Wuhan. his wife and daughter were flying out to the states that month... along with 500k other high society types. nearly half of all fights to the US from mainland china land at SeaTac, and this was the 1st version where most young adults were asymptomatic. My 22 year old at the time worked for Armani and the chinese LOVE that brand like they do Buick. anyway, he stayed with us for thanksgiving and a few days after, and the next working week i was sicker than i've been in 20+ years. all the known symptoms, and flu test was neg. since then i have been vaccinated for my mother in laws cancer treatment, (yeah, what we didn't know then right?) and have been surrounded by covid positive people so many times i can't count and have not yet tested positive. I think if you were exposed early on you developed natural immunity that is 100x stronger and the damn vaccine reacted to the already present antibodies which gave me my side effect symptoms.

I can confirm cardiac side effects. super high BP, not sure of the actual numbers but they were ready to prescribe meds for me. 203 BPM pulse resting for 20+ min before it subsided 6-10 days after the booster and randomly would spike without warning for 4-6 weeks after the booster. they of course will attribute this to my infection and diverticulitis. i had to fight with the drs to get them to remove the "generalized anxiety and intermittent panic attacks" from my record. have not had anything since. also had similar symptoms after the 2nd dose and reported to the cdc on the side effects report, which is when the panic attacks note showed up in my chart randomly...
