Wilbur, I wish you the best and pray that the Lord will grant you both patience and understanding. If I may offer up a suggestion, try to remember to see yourself through her eyes and her perspective. It has helped me in the past.

THAT sounds like loads of fun. I won't clog up your thread with my own septic nightmare, but suffice it to say that I have been in your shoes, with less equipment and a lot more moisture. The stone walls are beautiful and the wood interior with the stone reminds me of Richard Proenneke and One Man's Wilderness. I look forward to the re-finished wood floors.

That's awesome. I was enamored with that aircraft as a kid after I saw the movie D.A.R.Y.L. rolls royce engines to spool up the turbines, leaking fuel before takeoff, designed w/ slide rulers and pen and paper in the 60's. Man that was cool.

So back to shooting; when clearing a building, gun up in the air near your cheek as you dash from room to room shouting "CLEAR" like Columbo, or down towards your feet when moving and brought up to line of sight as you enter each space? I've also seen guys with AR's clearing with the stock over their shooting shoulder, (i assume to shorten it up some for maneuvering), is this ever done with a shotgun for the same purpose or is accuracy diminished too much for those shenanigans?

I love the Lynnwood Auto Electric guys down here. found a used starter when mine went out from the truck salvage yard across the hwy from them and yup, they did the rebuild on it. $70 out the door and works great.

2458
I've got a local shop that is capable of rebuilding pretty much any compressor, so if I don't wind up needing to send the core back in I'll look into having it rebuilt and keep it as a backup. I'll let you guys know what I find; always a good thing to have someone that can re-man something rather than buying some unknown re-man from mexico or china

Mine also came out in two pieces. Cheap, heat sensitive plastic over a low grade quality magnet. The steering arms on those are a BEAR so plan your time accordingly or just let the boys at LS do it for you.

5. The graduate with a science degree asks, "Why does it work?"
The graduate with an engineering degree asks, "How does it work?"
The graduate with an accounting degree asks, "How much will it cost?"
The graduate with an arts degree asks, "Do you want fries with that?"
The graduate with the arts degree says, "That looks like crap- you should have paid an artist to actually modify the design so that it works, looks good doing it, thereby increasing your profit margin because there's and increased demand for it, even if your stupid kid doesn't know how to work it, they'll buy it with the money they steal from you, because you've spoiled them so much, they don't need to make or sell me my fries............"  :P

I was fortunate/unfortunate enough to watch only the last 3 min of that Bengals game. I couldn't believe the possession changes, the fumble, the flag, the other flag, the rain... As soon as bastardly Ben walked back out though I had a feeling he'd just march downfield as he always does. I was really looking forward to getting another chance at playing cinci, since our reg season loss was determined by a bad field goal bounce. Guess I got that from MN. LACES OUT FINKLE!

Got this part done and off the racks, muffler sounds great, then it stops again!!

ERRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!! (leaning towards the crank sensor, another common issue)

Had a indy pace car Beretta back in 98 that would do that. crank sensor was broken internally. $15 part, 5 min fix, 4 days of diagnostics.

I tend to favor the urban stance and hold...

slightly crouched, body at 90 degrees to the target arm outstreched fully and slightly above head level with gun canted 90 degrees so that any sightline is down the side of the slide of my MAC-10.

Got you a little more gansta.

I just use a small pile of instant lite charcoal. That's usually good for a ten minute flame that'll get even wet logs dried off and cooking!

When I'm backpacking, paper egg containers stuffed with old dryer lint and paraffin wax poured over the top. Let it cool and harden and break them up into individual, LONG lasting greasy candles. 6" flame easy for about 10 min. If I'm ultra light, couple Vaseline covered cotton balls in a film container do the same trick but burn quicker. (hard to find film containers these days though).

My personal favorite for shock and awe is scraping the backside of cedar bark into very lightweight fluff, shape into a birds nest and use the magnesium fire starter with the flint striker molded into it. Always manlier when your lady knows you started that glorious fire without matches.

The fake campfire, like Dawg stated, would be for burn ban moments and for Duck shoes guy over by TRN.

2473
Not bad, the governor lock alone would be around $1100 new and the gears are around $350 retail. They are from West Coast Differnetial, Randy's original startup before he founded Randy's Ring & Pinion. Sierra is their house brand and not a bad gear at all. During setup of a used gear, you'll only use the coast side of the gear to read your pattern as the drive side having been ran will not present as expected. If you grab this up, let me know I'll send you some goodies.

I use the 300cc oxysorb for quart bags and 2000cc for the 5 gal buckets.

When you store sugar and salt you don't need desiccant.  Everything else, yes.  I store sugar and salt in quart bags for barter or just because it's gonna take a while to use a quart of salt or suger and no sense in having a 5 gallon bucket open to the air.

I'm curious about the sugar storage. I've always been told that sugar and salt will absorb water from the air; is the reason you don't use desiccant with these two because that moisture doesn't negatively effect them during storage?

You have gems sir. The original OX units are marvelous feats of engineering. US made Warn ff conversion is stronger than a stock dana 44 and will serve you well for many years to come. If you do suffer casualties, they don't manufacture them anymore but I have a customer here in WA that does, and they're stateside too. Both axles are great as long as you know how to manage the skinny pedal which you've obviously got down pat with 15 yrs on them so far. Mall crawlers like to talk about how much money they spend on their parts and then don't know how to drive anyway, break them, then blame the parts. Glad to see more logically thinking folks around here.

Good to see you also neck! Would like to share about extreme cold weather survival for those who are intrested. It's perfect temps for that here(-15 to +15 in mtns). My son and I are going to do an overnighter here in the next few days as he is on break from college. I'll do some video and  show you warm weather folks how we have fun up here. Hardwater fishing will be apart of it. I'll try put it in the cloud storage suggested.

Great to have you here Steve. Pretty sure the vast majority of us here are DF converts;-) I'm very interested in seeing some of that cold weather action. Used to teach the wilderness survival and Emergency preparedness merit badges at the scout camp and I love reading up on the subject often.

This is just too too much. I'm tearing up a little here guys. I'm surprised he didn't try an entire box of matches one at a time to see if he could "heat the flu". Oof I haven't laughed like that since I was a little girl, thank you. Was he wearing L.L.Bean Duck shoes and a cable knit sweater? My 5 year old daughter loves the garter snakes around the yard in the summer. She'll pick them up two at a time if she can catch them, but makes me hold them if they start musking. Too bad the lab likes to toss them around like chew toys. we used to have a lot of western fence lizards, little blue slashes under their jaw line, but the birds took them out to where it's been years since I've seen one. Other than that, just dog and cats

Flew into LAX on Christmas Eve. Never again. Flew out of LAX and into SeaTac on New years day. never again. everything in between was great at Disney; good security, (I got "randomly selected" for extra pat down/metal detector search about 6 times), good food, kids had a blast and great customer service. We lost a bag of Sophie's Princess Transformation stuff in LAX somewhere, and they replaced it all and are shipping it to us, no cost.

We are all GM now, (kinda). As Ken pointed out my son's Aveo is really Daewoo, but it carries a bow-tie. I'm impressed with the warranty coverage and attitude which is great. They are definitely going to win over consumers with this approach, and again, good for them. My only concern is really where DO we go to "pay a little more now rather than a lot more later"? Big 3 farming out manufacturing, everyone is on the lowest cost, I mean really if the whole industry is going the way of planned obsolescence, then cost and customer service is really the only factors to choose from since reliability is no longer an option.

I'm really happy to hear they are taking care of you, as that is rare in these times. It would be nice to have those kind of assurances with my 04 Yukon and 03 LB7, but for now I've got to stick with what I can repair myself, regardless of who made it.

Hmm, I just ran mine with 4.56 and 4.10, 35 inch tire based on .61 OD of the ally.

4.56 is 2000 rpm at 75mph.

4.10 is 1800 rpm at 75 mph.

i ran it with the .71, my mistake. Yes, for your hwy use and avg speed 4.56 made the most sense. Too bad 4.27 don't exist they would be ideal for many.
