The thing that I really like about the Ghost Rocket is the overtravel adjustment. When installed correctly, it allows for less than a 16th of an inch reset for follow up. I have some here along with some NIB unmolested glocks. I promised to do a write up on it a while back and I will as soon as I get the shipping container mods done and all my reloading stuff moved from my bro-in-laws.
I'd like to shoot the newer gens. I stopped buying new over the counter a while back so I haven't had the chance.

Well I got 12 cans inside installed, the box for over the sink pendant light, most electrical boxes, the cans on the porch and electrical boxes in the ceiling of the porch. Started stringing some 14/2 and bought the 100 amp panel but where I wanted the panel to go on the inside it wouldnt fit between the two studs. So I'll be returning that and getting a panel for the outside. No big deal, except that it's double the cost. But then I'll put it closer to the front side corner so the amount of 3-3-3-5 cable will be about 12 foot less which will be about a wash since the cable is $5/ft.
JR I have a motion on the shop for when the wife arrives in the dark. She doesn't ever seem to have the flashlights I put in her car....
I may put a three way switch and run the traveller over to the porch on the main house or outdoor kitchen to allow for turning the lights on when moving from the house to the casita
Or I can have dusk/dawn led stair lights just to give enough light to see the steps in the dark.
We'll see. I'm making this stuff up as I go

Chief my standard mods are the ghost rocket 2.5lb with adjustable over travel, marine striker cups, and extended mag release. No spring changes. Never ever had a light primer strike. It’s a glock. It always goes bang

Dave. I don’t plan on using photo cells. I don’t like to leave lights on for potential criminals when I’m not there.

Alright, DOT army, back at the casita this weekend. It’s rainy today so I’m working some electrical inside and on the porch. Got two gooseneck farm lights. One to go over the door and one over the window on the second floor. They’ll have those low watt Edison bulbs where you can see the elements. Then the porch has two small can lights and some outlets in the ceiling. Instead of ceiling fans I plan to get some wall mount oscillating fans that put out much more than ceiling fans. Shawn I have that same talent. It’s really about helping people. Sometimes it’s about helping them to understand that the role they’re in is not the right fit.
One other thing as a leader I believe. Always have bullets in the gun. I always have 2-3 active relationships with candidates so that when an opening happens I already have someone to put in the job. It keeps you from making a hire out of desperation which haunts you for years.

The only way human capital changes is to see high turnover rates. People always complain but few really find a better job. If they are actually leaving for better jobs then human capital will change the ranges.

Those are tough conversations all around. I prefer to hit them head on and pulled my team in to a room to address them all.
We have a rating system from 1-5 with 3 being "meets expectations". The company expects us to have the bell curve centered over the 3, meaning most employees are meeting expectations and then a smaller percentage slightly higher and even a smaller percentage a "5" meaning exceeded expectations and likely a really small percentage a "2", meaning needs improvements.
Those are guidlines and the 1-5 rating is our performance relative to our expectation of each employee. That's the key. We have high expectations as a high performing company and when an employee performs at a high level those expectations go up. In essence the bar, gets raised. So two poeple dong the same job, one a very high performer and one an average performer, can get ratings that on the surface seem odd. The high performer can get a 3, because they've shown they are really good at what they do and the average performer could get a 4 or 5 if, in a given year, they really step up their game and exceed expectations.
Now, here is the real trick. Our numerical ratings does not dictate salary increase, except that if you are rated a 2, needs improvement you would not get a rate increase.
On average, over time, the individual's performance dictates there relative salary level compared to their peers. While those same two employees might have the ratings discussed above, the higher performer , on an absolute basis, should be higher compensated.
Now for me, the real trick is that I usually only get about 2% of my total salary pool to spend on salary increases. That makes it tricky to give out increases that are meaningful. That means some people get less, or none and some get more.
Tough messages, but that's what they pay me for and why we are an "at will" employer.

So I'm close to being done with my employee evaluations.....mentally brain dead but I did meet one of my sales guys and took posession of his resignation letter today. 4 months in the making. Tried to give him the respect of exiting on his feet instead of on his back.
I have about 4 more employee review and then I can take a breather......

I ran the pit crew and wrenched. And regulated pit fights after on track incidents. I’ve done a few laps but never had my own car. I was trying to hire on as a driver in a sprint car but wasn’t good enough.

basements in texas are indoor swimming holes...
Dave, what I udnerstand, and I am by no means an expert, is that insulating under a slab is really only done for slabs that will have radiant heat.
Areas above grade are usually insulated in colder climates because they become an unlimited heat sink.

but, having met Nate in person, I have to wonder what folding up that chunck of man and inserting it in a Jetta would look like.
Reminds me when my neighbor was John Runyan of the Eagles. When he sat in his lincoln it leaned to one side.

might was well go 12/12. Just keep in mind that you need structural ridge beam or collar ties or something to keep the walls from spreading from the roof load pushing the walls out.

Today, it seemed that I was making lots of mistakes. ruined a few pieces of hardie but then got in a rythem. Finished a few pieces of trim and then started on the gable end over the front porch. Still have to finish the dormer and trim one last window on the back gable and then there's just planking the kitchen side and rear. I had to stop on the underside of the porch until I get the soffit and hardi panel on the ceiling. Those hardie panels are about 73 pounds so I need to figure out a way to hoist them up and hold them so I can nail them to the ceiling of porch. So far so good. Here is where I left it today

Mike you are absolutely right. I've been combating that since my kids got in school, and I'm, in TEXAS!. Can't imagine how bad it is in other states.
I remember when they brought home a "lets celebrate China" world cultures worksheet.....oh man, did my wife flip a lid.
Taught my kids about prison labor, atheism, forced abortions, communism.....and told them to ask their teacher about those things....
