I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb. I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.
Spent another day on the phone with insurance company trying to get time set up for the adjuster to come out. They're busy I understand but you want to be top of the list but that doesn't always happen. On a good note our agent recommend a company called Belfor Property Restoration our contact guy called and met me right after work then called later in the evening to make sure we didn't have any more questions! Got his cell number and told he will talk to insurance in the morning and call me back by 11 am! You don't see old fashioned service like that much anymore! Told my son to keep any receipts for gas for the generator and how many hours we had in clean up because they would have to sent a tree company out so they can take that off his deductible. Then talking to younger son told him about this company and he laughed at me and said Dad we fly the owner of the company! And that he's very hands on kind of guy and down to earth, I never heard of this company but he said they're all across the country. It's a small world sometimes!Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Took apart the p trap under the kitchen sink, never ceases to amaze me what 4 women can manage to put down a sink drain. Today it was 2 little 1/8" diameter pieces of steel around 4" long. Fortunately they were long enough not to clear the trap but then nothing else would either.........
Who needs glow plugs? It doesn’t get cold hereSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Framing the dormer is slow work. Trying to figure it out as I go. This is going to be a 4:12 pitch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
4:12 is a very common pitch. 4' rise in 12' run.
Getting ready to close up the cabin for winter. Got one more weekend I'm guessing. Load tested the original batteries, and as suspected they're shot. Pulled them out of the battery box, and rebuilt it to hold eight golf cart batteries, instead of four. The next time I'm out, at the end of the month, I'll be getting another four. That will put me at 450 amp hours at 24 volts. Nearly 10 kWH.With any luck that will minimize generator use for winter. We've had a few inches of snow again this weekend, and I had to start it up. I'm at about four hours run time since March, so it's been a great success so far. I'm hoping that double battery capacity will keep the run time down through the dark of winter. I'm also looking to pick up a 24 volt windmill to supplement the solar. Kind of dropped the ball and forgot to do that while it was nice.
