Glock 19 trigger
« on: June 14, 2024, 10:16:23 PM »
I was cleaning out one of my desk drawers and discovered a ZEV trigger for a G19, so I installed it into my carry Glock

I had a pretty good trigger as the weapon came. It had a pretty long take up, but once you found the wall, a bit more and it broke crisply.

Now with this ZEV unit, the take-up is shorter and you quickly find the wall. With just a little more squeeze the firing pin is released. It now comes as a surprise as to when the thing fires. I like it a bunch more.

I had a couple of threaded barrels laying around so I dropped on in as well.

The weapon needed a good deep cleaning so I completely disassembled it to include the upper slide part.

I also had a ghosted striker and a 3-lb spring, so I dropped those in there as well.

The old (stock) barrel was cool, but it is now just lying around!

I guess I have a good factory trigger as well. This gun as you can see is a gen 4. That means I own a Gen 3,4, and 5 G19. Me thinks I want to try out a G19X before I decide which one is my favorite

I like the way my glocks shoot. Just qualled with a 23, no issues. I have trijicons on all.

On a 19 I have, the pin hits the primer solid, but no bang 1/2 the time. Tweeking but not rusted yet until I get a bang everytime.

That's not typical of a Glock, and NO, I would not trust it either.

I had a G21 that did that back in the day on handloads. It didn't happen on factory loads, but I didn't keep it long enough to prove that it wouldn't.

Check length of chamber. Also if reloading, make sure the primers are seated completely. If you are getting a good solid hit on the primer either the case is moving forward or the primer is. I don’t shoot Glock so don’t know the beasts

All factory loads, old and new stuff. Rounds are getting jammed in the barrel sometimes, so I believe it could be the chamber.

I have not tried a factory barrel yet, but they seem to seat fine.

Yeah, would be a first for any glock I know.  You have an aftermarket barrel in it?

Few grey parts,,,,,,,,,

At first no hammer strike, got that and get good hits now.

Cycles great both with glock and magpul mags, cheap ammo, good bulk and some HP all the same. When it FTF I have to almost force apart at times.
